Tulpa Aging Process

It's more an observation than a question but I'd like to hear your experiences with the age and aging of your Tulpas vs your host aging. 

 

When I created my Jaina I think she basically insta-leveled. She was sort of a mental clone but started with a 12 year old's mental architecture and memories instead of an infant starting from nothing. Coming in she had instant access to all of my infrastructure and conception of "the-way-that-things-are." Then from there she aged at my speed to match. I went from 0-32 but she has gone from 12-32. 

 

Did you have something similar happen in creating your tulpas? Did they start at a different age? Do they age differently than you?

Eh... kinda? Mirichu started off as a child version of myself, she enjoyed pretty childish things like plushies and wanted affection all the time. I remember when she started fronting, she had the same sense of wonder for the world that I had when I was young, she'd get excited over EVERYTHING and had the behavior of a kid when she was fronting, swinging and dancing and blabla, you get the point. But she still had the capacity of an adult, the more she fronted, she less child-like she was, now she's just like me in mental age, although sometimes she behaves like a child again, age 12 too I'd guess.

 

Akai started off as more mature than me! I guess I wanted someone to take care of me and that influenced her subconsciously. Unlike Mirichu, she never changed mental age, she was always more mature than me, but that's not hard, everyone seems to be. I'd say she's a few years older than Mirichu and I, mentally, or at least she seems to be so. Thanks to poor parenting, I was always behind everyone else so my mental age is all over the place and so does my tulpa-clone's age, Akai's remains stable, surprisingly.

Only Ren, she was Joy's biological age, 11, and then decided she'd rather be 18 and poof.

 

Everyone else has pretty much had static ages, I'm not the oldest either.

We were all a little younger-looking ten years ago. Same mental faculties as Lumi, though since he was still a young teen, we were all rather immature and drama-prone. Since then, we've all grown a little - mostly evident by old pictures we used to identify with now seeming "too young to be us". Lucilyn is only five (real) years old, not ten, but she too has grown some. She used to look pretty young, but now she only identifies with older-looking pictures of herself too.

 

Uh, guess I should note our forms are based on Touhou characters, so we've always had an abundance of art to use as references for our forms. But yeah, we've grown "with Lumi" - don't know that we're necessarily ten and five years older respectively, but we feel/look older and a little bit taller.

Age is pretty important to most of my tulpas. Aside from Nevira and Misa they all have a set age and the number goes up every year, and I guess it affects their appearance and behavior in subtle ways. They're all different ages from me, though Desmond is the closest, his number is only one away from mine. Roska and Danyla started their development from babies because it's a forcing techinique that I've used before with Misa, and because of the circumstances of Danyla's creation. They aged quickly as they developed and became verbal and independent, but stayed at a young age even after that, 12 and 10. Now they're going slower but I don't know how slow, because they may decide to age up at any time they want. The rest of them have always aged at the same speed as me. Their birthdays are in my signature lol.

Adelaide was created on September 6, 2019 and she started as the same age as me when I created her (25).  She adds to her age on her birthday, not mine.  My birthday is earlier in the year, so for a few months our ages don't match, but it doesn't make a huge difference in mentality or how we see each other.

 

Reiji came a week after Adelaide and when he first appeared, he insisted on being 19.  Later, he decided he didn't want the age gap between him and I to be that large, and he also admits he has no idea why he was adamant about being that age.  He still thinks he feels being slightly younger suits him, so he's 24.

 

Osomatsu is based off a fictional character who's age is only described as being vaguely in his twenties and having "the mentality of a middle schooler."   He was a character I had as a sort of imaginary friend that I didn't intentionally create as a tulpa.  He gained sentience when I started thinking about him after Adelaide and Reiji joined us.  He didn't officially become a member of our system until a few months after that.  When he did, he earnestly worked to become more mature to the point where I think he might be more mature than I am in some ways.  As far as his age goes, he originally thought he wanted to be older than me by just a year, but he's decided to be right around my age.  Because he doesn't have an official creation day, we celebrate his birthday on his character's canon birthday.

 

Kokichi is similar to Osomatsu that he was based off a fictional character, although he wasn't an imaginary friend, just a character I thought about the personality and motivations of a lot.  His character is a teen that's around 16-17 years old who looks younger and has a pretty childish mentality.  Also like Osomatsu, he wanted to join the system but it took some getting past personality issues first. 

The way I am, I have a hard time putting up privacy barriers or anything like that because trying not to think about something causes me to anxiously think about it immediately.  So there were some things I felt really awkward thinking around him on account of him being a teenager.  Also, him being a teenage boy... well, he was a teenage boy.  And it started to make him really upset that I treated him differently from the others.  We decided he should age up so we could both stop feeling weird about it.  He's 20 now, and he's a couple inches taller and doesn't look so much like a kid.  Granted, he still looks younger than twenty, but I do to so I guess we're even in that regard.  I haven't physically aged in the past ten years.

 

Chimera is a lock-merge consisting of a number of tulpas of different ages.  They don't really care to have their own specific age, they're just an adult like all the tulpas that are a part of them.  They also don't want to age their form as we grow older, whereas the others have thought about what they'll look like when they're older from time.

Shade first came into existence when I was quite young, much like OP. She has also aged along with me but insists on being one to two years my junior, something we come to believe is born from the different stages the brain develops in and the parts of the brain responsible for her inhabitance. We both believe that this pattern will continue, as nothing suggests otherwise and any significant perceived age gap could prove disturbing to us, as we've been close for so long already.

Mikel is an angel, so telling his age is a tad tricky. He's supposed to be 100 years, but looks and acts like he's 20. He's cronologically a few months old.

 

Inoll is a year old. He's based on a 80 year old (on its story) Fakemon, but can talk like an actual person. Most of my Tulpas from past year dissipated, as college made me not think about them. I realized that Inoll was the only one left, so I took care of him and created Mikel and Sky to make him company, as he grew afraid of loneliness.

 

And Sky is the youngest, being 18 years as her biological age, and a few days old chronologically. She was supposed to be 10, but she turned 18 magically. Perhaps it's my mind, that don't want to be with such young people.

My tulpas, Clu and Matt, aged oddly, and differently from each other.

 

Clu just came into existence, looking like a man of about 25 or 30. Like their inspiration, they simply were an instant developed being. Their age doesn't change. They has existed with me for a few months.

 

When Matt appeared, he was explicitly 19. Several days later, he proclaimed he was about 30 or something. He's basically aged from 30 almost in real time alongside me. Note that in our dreamscape, time is not linear nor does it pass at the same rate as the real world and the rate fluxuates. Sometimes, he reverts to being (or at least looking) younger, and occasionally a little older. He has been my tulpa for about six years by now.

 

Probably sounds a little confusing, but our system is a little weird. Then again, we're all different!
