ChloeBee May 9, 2021 May 9, 2021 In the context of modern, western, internet-era Tulpamancy? No. Chloe. 🏳️⚧️😎 Host of Simmie.
ghost kid May 9, 2021 Author May 9, 2021 (edited) On the site it says tulpas can go all poltergeist. And become a problem by being able to do poltergeist like stuff. Is that true? Edited May 10, 2021 by Ranger Took out weird formatting
Luminesce May 9, 2021 May 9, 2021 (edited) That's a wiki for fictional villains, first of all. So it's probably just for talking about whenever "tulpas" have appeared as villains in a cartoon or anime (didn't actually read the page, see my post below) Edited May 10, 2021 by Luminesce Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
Ranger May 10, 2021 May 10, 2021 (edited) In metaphysics, I believe a tulpa is more like a magical servitor than the understanding on this forum. However, I am far from an expert on magical servitors, spurlpas, and tulpas. From what limited articles I read, I remember this one talking about golems and reviewing the golem episode from X-files where they called their creature a Tulpa. However, I don't know if this is the mainstream magical interpretation of a tulpa. I wonder if some of what was in the article was inspired from articles like the one I linked, but since it didn't list any sources I wouldn't put much if any weight into it. I'm not sure how to research mainstream magic and get reliable information for it. From my limited understanding, magic is very much input-output. I don't know if magic is always a self-fulfilling prophecy set up, but at the very least if you intend to summon a spirit or cast a spell to satisfy a vice you will summon or do something evil and if you have good intentions you will summon or do something good. Basically, if you create a magical servitor and have positive vibes or treat them with respect, bad things won't happen. I also like cake and chatting about stuff. I go by Rosalin or Ronan sometimes. You can call me Roz but please don't call me Ron. My other headmates have their own account now, but it's outdated and I can't be bothered to update it If I missed seeing your art, please PM/DM me! Luminesce May 10, 2021 May 10, 2021 Sprul-pa* (for those who read the above and wanted to google the term) - Also, those are just "stories" they're talking about on that wiki. They're as credible as any story of supernatural or mythological beings. (So, not very) Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. theholodoc May 10, 2021 May 10, 2021 In Jewish lore, a Golem is created from clay. It gets its spirit (or life force) from rabbinical blessings. In my view, and in my view only, this has nothing what-so-ever to do with tulpa, or tulpa creation. The question as to whether or not a tulpa can manifest in external/consensual reality, has not been settled. It is my personal belief (and only my belief) that it may become possible, if and only if, the host wishes it, and is a powerful enough magician/meditator to make it so. I am aware that Alexandria Neel wrote that her tulpa became manifest (and did harm). I know of no other (doesn't mean it isn't so) such cases. Dr. Bob
fennecfoxx May 11, 2021 May 11, 2021 I thought you were gonna ask if tulpa.info is factual, lol. I'd argue that the site you linked to is more factual, as it states that what it says is only according to legend and makes no assertion that the legends are true. So, yeah, it's factual in the sense that there are indeed some quite disturbing legends about tulpas. Deluded myself into believing my imaginary friends were real, then deluded myself into thinking they weren’t. Whatever the case, the OG gang’s still here: Host: fennec (they/them) Tulpas: Alex (he/him) and Kayleigh (she/her) Delete all memories of those who know my awkward past
Lucilyn May 11, 2021 May 11, 2021 (edited) and in a more important sense, those things aren't factual in that they're talking about myths that aren't true, whereas tulpa.info is talking about real experiences people are actively having right now Edited May 11, 2021 by Lucilyn Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points. I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal! Talk to us? https://community.tulpa.info/thread-ask-lumi-s-tulpas
