TL;DR - I'm curious about the methods y'all use to share sights, sounds, and other sensations with the rest of your system.

I started thinking about this today at work. It started to rain while I was doing my rounds. Athelas loves the rain so I stopped and took a moment to enjoy it with him. Specifically, I thought to him, "hey, feel this with me," and visualized him standing beside me while I focused on the sensation of the drops on my skin. He commented on how refreshing it felt. I ended up drenched, which was annoying and uncomfortable, but he was enjoying himself so much I couldn't stop smiling.

So in our case, we're able to share sensory information when we consciously decide to, and it takes some effort and focus on my part. I'll ask Tea to taste some food with me, listen to a song with me, etc, and when I visualize him I can picture his reactions. I assume since we share a brain, he can perceive everything I do, he's just not necessarily "tuned in" all of the time.

This is pretty different from when we first started out. I viewed Athelas as more confined to my head/the wonderland. I actually gave him a mental copy of my laptop so I could send him visuals and audio. Over time we gradually stopped using it and started sharing senses as I described.

Does anyone else do this? Do you have your own method of sharing senses? I'd love to hear some different perspectives 😁 (Let me know if this should be posted elsewhere. I saw a few older threads that touched on this topic, but they didn't appear to go much into specific methods for sensory sharing.)

For us, sensory sharing is the default. I feel everything Phil feels; if I choose to dissociate from anything it is a conscious choice. I know some other systems have the opposite setting as default; only the switched-in headmate feels the senses unless otherwise shared.

Sometimes I "step back" and perceive myself as being separate from Phil's senses, to do this I put myself in a physical space within our wonderland as Phil moves around the real world. My favorite spot to do this is my little home office where I have a computer monitor to watch what Phil does from a sensorially-detached space. I mostly do this while he is at work, because most of the time I want to be there with him and feeling what he feels. 🥰

I think it's so sweet that you let Athelas feel the rain even though it made you uncomfortable and wet. 😊

we're automatically aware of the senses when not fronting (as long as we're active ofc), though it's more like we observe them, not feel them ourselves

when someone first becomes active and the fronter wants to talk about something, we're automatically aware of whatever the context was, but it is like we just became aware of it at that moment (assuming we weren't around for it happening), so the info is shared instantly but our reactions to/processing it only happen when we're next active to think about it

we don't personally actually have a way to share senses the fronter is experiencing directly, even when Lumi was experiencing the worst pain he's felt getting his wisdom teeth out (we don't numb well & thought it was supposed to be painful, whoops), Flan was there with him but was only stressed knowing he was in pain, but she wasn't connected to/feeling it herself

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal!

This sounds closer to how we function most of the time

The main room in our wonderland is a cartoony living room, so they see and hear everything through the TV! We haven’t tested this next one out yet, but I made a VR headset for Kat to experience the other senses, and one for them to front/co-front.

Frequent fronters:

🪭, he/him pronouns, fictive

🦜, any pronouns, tulpa

🪷, any pronouns, she/they pref

this isnt everyone, just those most likely to be posting on here

Get weird muscle spasm.

"Hey Gabs, feel this lol".

Basically that.

The cool breeze flowed through our hair like a ethereal stream as we sat among the shore, looking into the dream.

Hi all!

I just found this thread and I wanted to share an advice for those who signaled having difficulties to share sensory informations with their headmates.

According to my past experience, I tried to do so with mine and the best solution I designed was canalizing my sensations through chi.

I precise, I am not arguing about spiritual stuff here: this is not the right place in this forum, and also I am absolutly not fond of promoting any ideology.

When I talk about chi or vital energy or any name you put on, you can see that as a pure feeling due to auto-suggestion.

My point is I have succeessed in sharing sensory informations to my headmate by vizualising the so-called chi circulating through my body and especially dragging the sensations by focusing on from the implicated member, e.g. my mouth when eating to drag out the taste of food.

Then, I concentrate on those beams of sensation being exfiltrated through chakras (again, I do not affirm they trully exist) notably Ājñā and Sahasrāra and finally I focus on my headmate receiving all this flow.

Again, my method is quite particular and it certainly does not work within many of your cases.

For example, my headmate was a soubond and not a tulpa, which could contribuate to this technics worked and not another.

Anyway, I wish you all finding a satisfying solution for such an enjoyable experience!

Have a nice day!

Arthur
