How and why did you choose your tulpa(e)'s name?

Recommended Posts

Current placeholder name is Pix, a shortened version of Pixel Pixie, the name of the OC she got her form from. I thought it would help distance her from the character, plus Pixiel Pixie isn't really a Tulpa name. Of course I plan to ask her about it once she's vocal.

Akira.

I actually went looking about for baby names from different cultures, and stumbled upon an Egyptian name generator. "Akila" was the first girl name it gave me, which means 'intelligent'. It quickly deviated to Akira by unknown factors, but I fairly sure it's her showing her first signs of sentience.

Asian mispronouncing of R and L + you watching too much weeaboo cartoons + the thing spitting out "akila" = "Akira" ?

I'm not Asian, and I've never even heard about the show Akira until just now (Google'd it)(It's also a film, not a show. derp). Not exactly the anime type, either.

Shine appeared to me in lucid dreams first. She already told me her name ...

I thought of a name for her, but she instead proposed Ren. I guess my name was kinda lame xD. I was glad she decided on her own name, it feels as though it allowed her to define herself. Though that was very early in development, and when i ask her now she says the memory is kinda blurry.

Tulpa: Ren

Stage: Imposition

Form: Unicorn

Her speech/comments dictated by square brackets. [Hi, everyone!]

I first thought of the name, "Tzux". Why you may ask? Honestly I have no idea, just came to me. My Tulpa lacked of gender and needed a temporary name, so I stayed with that until my Tulpa could decide his/her gender and name.

And thus, when the time came, my Tulpa choosed to be female, and to be called as "Sue".

"Oh, and call me Sue, not those weird names you choose from who-knows-where, (...), I'm simple, you made me that way, remember?".

...Yay

Vixen, like many other tulpas on this forum, picked her own name. She was originally named Sadie (in honor of my school's Sadie Hawkins dance) yet ultimately decided she wanted to change it. The two of us frequently listen to music together so when the electronic artist "V!xen" came up on my iPod she instantly fell in love with the name. Despite me raising the obvious connection to some, eh, other communities that frequent names like that, she still felt that the name captivated her persona perfectly! (Or at least better than Sadie.)
