If that was how science works, there wouldn't be any progress - everyone would just go "nah, gotta try that myself" and no matter how smart/determined, they still only have a lifetime to discover stuff, and another generations would repeat it over, and over. It's taking empirism to extremes it wasn't meant to go(I'm sure there was some term for it, forgot it).

One time when I was at the market, the cashier said "Have a good one you three" (referring to me, Luna, and Elise). Either he didn't think there was anything out of the ordinary about a purple-haired child, or more likely he was more psychically sensitive than most people.

Other than that sole exception, they're invisible to everyone but me.

Tulpae: Luna, Elise, Naomi

My progress report

My fiance and I are together every day--we even have created our tulpae together and try to be respectful of each other's tulpa's space when we know the other is imposing.

We love to play and experiment and the idea of seeing each other's tulpae sounds fun and somewhat awesome. We have never seen the other's tulpa though. The closest you could say would be gaining an awareness of where they might be based on their previous actions and the space available in the room. Though it is not always accurate of course.

We do think of them as psychological beings, not spiritual ones, mostly because of our background in hypnosis and what we believe based on our creation process. Honestly I don't see it as being possible aside from subconscious cues, but it is a fun idea that would be neat if it was possible. I know we have been asked many times if we could experiment because we have the opportunity to be near and already know and trust each other well. We experimented for them, but nothing came of it. Maybe it is impossible, maybe we aren't 'psychicly sensitive', or maybe our biases would block anything that could happen. All we know is what we have seen, which so far has been that no one else can see our tulpae but us.

The answer is no.

Mass hysteria would not allow others to see your tulpa; there's no way for them to see the same thing as you. They wouldn't be seeing your tulpa.

Metaphysics might offer a different explanation; likely a 'maybe'. Viewing your tulpa as ultimately a being external to yourself allows them to interact with others, though this has never been demonstrated to my knowledge.

Were tulpas visible, it probably would have been noticed over what is probably millions of hours of combined having a tulpa on this forum. Minor encounters - such as Glitch's above - can be explained in myriad other ways. Taking that one specifically, the best ones would be

-mishearing/delusion: an auditory hallucination or simple mishearing isn't out of the question

-misunderstanding on behalf of the cashier: perhaps he grouped Glitch in with someone behind him

-inference: seeing Glitch interact with someone who wasn't there may have alerted him to his 'imaginary friends' (as he would have seen it)

The point is that no.

I don't really think it's necessary to say no, move and call the cops when someone asks a questions the current popular shared truth/belief system refuses to consider. Though it is also true that you're probably better off asking the meta guise (what the hell man, metaphysic is a branch of philosophy, not a synonim for "spiritual bullshit we don't like").

That said, i have a feeling it would probably be more productive to research such things by yourself.

EDIT: Yeah, thinking about it, this thread will probably go to shit soon, so i hereby forbid you to take my post overly seriously; sometimes i just want to rant about the way the world works and appear like a cool motherfucker by doing so. Do forgive my interruption(, my vision is augmented).

Week 1

So, looking at what I've seen on this thread, I'm going to assume that it's possible to some extent, until I find for a fact that I can't. As long as others have had someone else even glimpse their tulpa, there is, I believe, a chance, even if it isn't exactly likely. Thanks guys.

No, it's not. This thread is just filled with bullshit. Do you really think, in the history of mankind, not a single person would create a tulpa (or equivalent) that defied known biology and showed it off? A tulpa can take the form of literally anything your mind can possibly conceive. You don't think that, if this were possible, someone would use this to their advantage? That's completely irrational. Regardless, it defies nearly every field of science from psychology to physics to biology. There is absolutely nothing to support the claim that a hallucination is able to physically manifest, or somehow transfer to some else via magic brain waves. It is not possible. And unless technology progresses to where anything you imagine can be physically created, it will never be possible.

For OP's sake, could someone please move this to Metaphysics/Parapsychology? I have a feeling this little scuffle will escalate very quickly.

I agree with Ennervate; that would probably be best for everyone.

Astral project on my face, brother!
