Flexionsensor December 18, 2012 December 18, 2012 So. If you've read my overly posted progress report, then you've noticed that I originally wanted to skip all the 'unnecessary' creation things, like making a form. I wished for Katrina to think up a form for herself. Then I started to worry that she might decide to be something I couldn't possibly bring myself to live with forever, like a pony... So I decided to do my own form for her, because she's vain. Like me. Oh dear. This means that she's probably going to be pleased with whatever I give her. So, in my quest for ultimate tulpa-ism, I realized that I have no idea whatsoever how to come up with a good character form for her. I have her arm worked out. That's about it though. How are you supposed to, then, imagine them, so that you can 'call' it up to your minds eye at your own leisure? "DUDE! That's wrong! You don't do that! That's like giving a kid a knife and telling him that it's a neck massager!" Shameless self promotion!
Romm December 18, 2012 December 18, 2012 Just use existing character you like if thats so hard. You may change form as many times as you want.
Xantan December 18, 2012 December 18, 2012 So, in my quest for ultimate tulpa-ism, I realized that I have no idea whatsoever how to come up with a good character form for her. Actually i think you'll find you have a better idea than you think you do. Your use of the word "hand" and "her" already show she's humanoid and female. Think of her personality or traits and imagine what kind of face she has. eg: cool, bitchy, cold, cute, sexy. All these should conjure up basic images of faces we associate with these traits. How tall is she? Is she a normal human? What's her body's build look like? I think these questions are a good base to start with. if you've been working on communication then you should have her help you with these questions. Once you've got basics you can move to more details, like bust size, hip size, hair/eye color, ect. P.S: even a shadowy silhouette is a good start. "The way is in training." - Miyamoto Musashi
Kadoh December 18, 2012 December 18, 2012 I kind of just used a base of myself and changed the height of cheek bones, eye shape, mouth, etc, until I got Shin/the others. My opinions are all subject to change.
SilverRevlis December 18, 2012 December 18, 2012 I just made an orb, essentially her soul, and while I was forcing on her I would also be thinking of bodies. Once I got the basic idea of how she would look, I put body and soul together, and when forcing I would look at every part of her body to try and memorize the little details. New details will keep popping up, so keep looking. Eventually, you'll be able to remember what she looks like just as quick as you can remember what that one girl that sits on the other side of class looks like. The one with the pink thong that smiled at you that one time. You'll be able to recall how miss tulpa looks just as quickly as that. Another thing you could do is write her traits on a piece of paper, as if she was described in a book. I'm sure you can see in your minds eye what a character in a book looks like, even if it's fuzzy. Do that, and then keep forcing the form for clarity and solidity. Let's focus on the matter at hand, shall we?
Flexionsensor December 18, 2012 Author December 18, 2012 How tall is she? Is she a normal human? What's her body's build look like? 1. Ummmm... 2. Yes. 3. Ummm... Yeah. Basically I have an idea of what she'd sort of look like, if you turned on a smoke machine and placed her in the middle, at night, wearing grey clothes, made of cardboard. "DUDE! That's wrong! Koji December 19, 2012 December 19, 2012 You can go here for reference, and build a body around that, if you already have a basic form. To call the form up instantly takes practice, but there's no proper way to do it. You'll find a way that works for you, whether it be new or old. http://tulpa.info/forums/Thread-Koji-and-Catelyn-Of-Deserts-and-Snowmen
Flexionsensor December 19, 2012 Author December 19, 2012 Thanks. I think I do have a pretty good idea of what her body should look like; take a look! :D -I- /\ But seriously, I have decided she'll be 5'5" with average breast  size, a C cup, because I don't want to seem perverted. Awesome. No hair, grey eyes, because, surprise! Mine are that color and it's easy to visualize them! I've worked on her nose, making it slope. Not that icky slope then UP! Then slope again. Bleauch. My brother has that and it irritates me. Complexion, white, because once again, easy to visualize. I also have no blemishes on the skin, because with her given personality, she's not going to like those very much. Once again, average breast size. And as her non-boobular circumference is 28", she's very slim. I based her body on mine, (and yes, a 28 inch chest for a guy is pathetic, but I don't get 'bigger' even if I work out. I know, I've tried for longer than a woman stays pregnant.) so she's easy to imagine. Slim jawline. Arms perfected. All that good stuff. "DUDE! That's wrong! You don't do that! Flexionsensor December 20, 2012 Author December 20, 2012 I'm going to stick to mental imaging... I've already given nightmares to all who view this post... "DUDE! That's wrong! You don't do that! That's like giving a kid a knife and telling him that it's a neck massager!" Shameless self promotion!
