Lacquer March 23, 2013 March 23, 2013 >a hundred years WWI didn't start until 1914. You're off by a year.
NeonKnights March 23, 2013 Author March 23, 2013 Lacquer, it would have detracted from the impact of the statement to be so specific as to say "ninety-nine years". Just "a hundred" sounds more concise, if a little vague and technically incorrect. Should I have gone to the trouble of altering the product of my mind's eye to feature the Second Balkan War, just so I could say "a hundred years" without being incorrect? Not only that, but the uniforms and equipment seemed to resemble a battle closer to 1916 or 1917; should I have rather said "ninety-six or ninety-seven years"? Surely you can see how clunky that would render the sentence. The Great War is a subject of great fascination for me, so of course I'm aware that it did not begin until August (July 28 if you want to be technical) of 1914. Rest assured, I'm not the type to bring up things I'm ignorant about. Anyways, I did eventually make it out, after giving the opposition a real bloody nose around 4:30 AM and taking a paranoia-wracked shower. Isis didn't join me in my shower, but as I plowed into bed like a stricken aircraft, she seemed very happy to have me back from my mental journey; she rolled on top of me as I tried to sleep, and kissed me mercilessly for an hour as she straddled me. She also convinced me to do her a favor involving my tongue... Still not sure how I got roped into that one. "You've got to believe to achieve." -Hank Hill
NeonKnights March 23, 2013 Author March 23, 2013 Heh, whenever a situation like this arises in the future, I'll just put the "technically correct" figure in a spoiler tag after the casually vague figure. Just for you. "You've got to believe to achieve." -Hank Hill
NeonKnights March 24, 2013 Author March 24, 2013 Woke up early so I could go exchange this bunk Zippo I bought on impulse last night, and then go shooting with my friends. Waking up early isn't the only unusual thing this morning; Uni has deviated into the guise of Noel Vermillion from BlazBlue, and has begun to wear a uniform reminiscent of Resident Evil 1 Jill Valentine. I've also gotten a feeling she wants to be called Marigold. Never would have chosen that name myself, so this is reason to believe this was her choice. I'm still trying to confirm this, but for now, Marigold's her name. Read the detailed version of this update on Tumblr "You've got to believe to achieve." -Hank Hill
NeonKnights March 24, 2013 Author March 24, 2013 I'm allowed to do it once every few years. Also, it seems Uni (or rather, Marigold) may actually want to be called 'June'. Either she's having a name crisis or I'm very confused. We'll see what she ultimately decides when the dust settles. "You've got to believe to achieve." -Hank Hill
Doctor_RCI March 25, 2013 March 25, 2013 Hmmm maybe you should talk about it with her and why she is like that and it seems that you been giving more attention to isis as from the posts you been posting
NeonKnights March 25, 2013 Author March 25, 2013 Yeah, I'm just giving it a little while for my own thoughts to settle down, so I don't go parroting responses accidentally. I am guilty of showering Isis with affection a bit more than I do for her sister, though. I'll have to get better about that. I think her form change has helped me with that a bit, since now she doesn't look so similar to Isis. Maybe it's just because that makes it a bit easier to differentiate between the two. When we went shooting earlier, I gave them equal attention as I taught them the ropes of firing a gun and how not to kill oneself on accident. Even now, I'm teaching them how to disassemble and clean the various weapons without giving more attention to one girl or the other. Uni-Marigold-June (whatever she wants to be known as) seems to have a particular interest in all of this, which is rather surprising. "You've got to believe to achieve." -Hank Hill
