Phantom tails are relatively common in the furry fandom. Here, we usually get them from switching and such. It doesn't have much to do directly with tulpas.

Thank you for your help :) and I'm sorry for the irrelevancy of my post, I didn't realize this was a completely different community together so I therefore apologize. I was only reading up on this in panic as I have never had this happen before. thank you for answers

Eh, talking about it is helping me feel my tail better.

You can check out sites like furmorphed if you want to encourage the experience.

would doing this do any mental damage or is this completely harmless? I'm just concerned about my health at this point, feeling something that shouldn't be there (even though I want to have a tail lol) is quite new to me

Mental damage is subjective and based on how you measure mental health. But this is completely harmless in general.

ok thank you :) I shall check it out,

once again I apolagize for the irrelevancy of these posts

[Tri] It is also something many in otherkin communities experience. You might also consider digging around in them too for information.

As for our thoughts. It is mostly harmless. Weird, yes, but not generally harmful. That isn't to say that it can't be harmful (we've definitely had phantom limbs get vivid enough to cause us trouble walking on occassion), just, for most it isn't.

Hello

I realise this is a very old thread but I'm in search of someone who has experience with imposing a phantom limb, tail, wings, ears or of whichever shape who would be up for answering a couple of questions on how to do it.

I'm an artist who wants to grow a phantom limb and am looking for any kind of tips and first hand experiences.. this thread was very inspiring for me in my research and I would love it if someone would be up for answering a couple of questions on the process!!

xx

One of our previous tulpas used to frequently experience phantom wings/tail/horn/scales when he fronted (he was half-dragon). He basically did it by imagining/focusing on it whenever possible until it became habit. I'm sure we could do that again for ourselves if we really wanted to.

After 'flying around' in wonderland, I can sometimes feel a powerful kind of clenching that's not at all painful on 'wings'. It's subtle, but if I spend time concentrating and imagining them there, I believe that is the basis of imposition. I would think guides on imposition would help. Anyobe know good references?

In lieu of that:

My wonderland/imagination is better than average, i've been told, so take this procedure with a grain of salt.

Picture yourself with wings in wonderland, feel their heft and imagine what the wind would feel like through them. They lift your body so you have to imagine they'd feel like powerful arms, in my case they're a 5th amd 6th limb, not replacing any other appendages. Fly around a little. I especially like skimming the surface of water and dive bombing.

Repeat IRL. (Minus the actual flight)
