Antylamon March 8, 2013 March 8, 2013 Seems my question hasn't been answered yet, so I'll bump it. Why don't you just sleep sideways?
GuessWho March 8, 2013 March 8, 2013 I've been thinking of trying this one day. Probably Wings. Do you know if it would be possible to make them just visually, and not able to be felt? Some user posted that it was uncomfortable to sleep face-up. If they were only able to be seen and not felt, this wouldn't be a problem, right? I might ask some more questions in the future, this is certainly an incredibly interesting phenomenon. And please post the whole paper once you finish it. It may make the overall process longer, but you could just revert to your default appearance when you lie down and only bring the wings out outdoors. I'm trying to impose cat ears in a way that I can disable/dissipate/remove/become unaware of them at will. So, they just disappear when I'm wearing headphones, and come back out when I want to use them again - saves me the discomfort. Sort of like a shape-shifting ability: revert to your normal form when the other one becomes inconvenient and switch back when you want to. It may be more effort to convince build the awareness of the extra limbs/ body parts if they're not permanent and it may be more work to maintain two or more forms (and also possibly a longer process), but I think it's worthwhile. It's just my personal take on the matter - only impose them when necessary, not all the time. Although too little time may be ineffective and/or missing the point, so I'm attempting to impose at all times except where inconvenient. Why don't you just sleep sideways? Or this. Also, I always sleep on my side. My whole life, I've never been able to sleep comfortably on my back. I can't imagine why someone would prefer to sleep face-up in the first place.
Sands March 8, 2013 March 8, 2013 Sleeping on your stomach is also great. The THE SUBCONCIOUS ochinchin occultists frt.sys (except Roswell because he doesn't want to be a part of it)
Chupi March 8, 2013 March 8, 2013 Couldn't you design your wings in a way that they don't cause issues when sleeping on your back? Like, make them fold in some way that may not be anatomically reasonable. Lyra: human female, ~17 Evan: boy, ~14, was an Eevee Anera: anime-style girl, ~12; Lyra made her My blog :: Time expectations are bad (forcing time targets are good though)
Riku Aotsuki March 9, 2013 Author March 9, 2013 Seems my question hasn't been answered yet, so I'll bump it. Actually, if you wanted, you could make it so you could feel it easily at any time, and turn it off at will. They don't necessarily have to be there 24/7, nor do you have to feel the pressure of them against things if you don't want to.
Cyclone March 9, 2013 March 9, 2013 And suddenly, everyone. You, with practice, perceive the body parts as completely normal and a part of you. Like touch imposition. It hurts to have them hit, and it feels nice when you massage them. What if you didn't know that someone was behind you and "touched" them? Would you still feel it? Couldn't you design your wings in a way that they don't cause issues when sleeping on your back? Like, make them fold in some way that may not be anatomically reasonable. Actually, they are gonna be detached from the body, kinda like these. Actually, if you wanted, you could make it so you could feel it easily at any time, and turn it off at will. They don't necessarily have to be there 24/7, nor do you have to feel the pressure of them against things if you don't want to. This is exactly what I wanted/needed. Thank you very much! :) "The night is young, Yume... JUST KIDDING IT'S ALREADY 2 AM!"
GuessWho March 9, 2013 March 9, 2013 Actually, they are gonna be detached from the body, kinda like these. Woah. That pic is so cute! She looks sort of similar to my tulpa too! (minus the wings, although I wouldn't mind adding them.) Maybe I can use that pic a reference for visualisation. Thanks for sharing.
dillionchurchill March 30, 2013 March 30, 2013 Huh. Wolverine claws and tails' tails? Um... Well on the issue of wings, I've begun tentatively plotting the possibility of creating "energy wings", and having them flare when I do any kind of energy work or influencing. Sounds fun to me, and it would avoid all the issues of them clipping through clothing or hurting when you're lying down. Or perhaps wings formed from a bunch of floating crystals that acted similarly, flaring on meditation or energy work. Tails and whiskers and stuff too. BUT FUUUUUG i just gotta finish my tulpa. I wanna experiment so bad, but DUTY CALLS, and tulpa is far more important~ If I'm still interested in this when she's done, you can bet I'll experiment to add to this discussion from first hand experience.
