  1. 1. What are your tulpae to you?

Recommended Posts

Throughout my lurking, I've notice that a lot of people, at least on the surface, seem to think of their tulpas as just tulpas, nothing more. When people talk about what their tulpas are to them, it usually sounds like it's BECAUSE they're a tulpa that they're anything more.

So what are your tulpas to you? Just a tulpa? A friend? More than that? What are they, and what makes you feel that way? Were they designed to be what they are, or did they find the role themselves?

Kai is a friend and guardian. I designed him to be that, because I have an issue where I rarely feel safe, regardless of how safe I actually am. He's my tulpa, in fact the only one I build from scratch, but he's also my personal security detail, I guess you could call it.

Kaia, meanwhile (Don't blame me, Kai chose his name after Kaia's was in place) is a motherly figure. She, along with all of my tulpas but Kai, was originally a character I wrote in my stories. Her personality as a tulpa is based off of that. So it was unintentional that she became that, but I appreciate it nonetheless. She's very comforting.

Tai is almost a father figure, giving advice and being quite a good conversational partner. He's helped me with issues more than once.

Those are just three examples, because I'm not about to go through them all. I'm curious about yours.

My sex toy who's only purpose of existence is to pleasure my penis

Over all, they are friends as they should be, but of course that's a little shallow isn't it? My tulpalamas also have taken up (at least I think for the most part) the responsibility of helping me ascend morally, physically and mentally. As well as to become more social and generally to be a better person (

inb4 it's not working

)

To go a tad deeper, I suppose they've more or less taken up specific duties as well. Maybe it's due to the way in which their personality developed, but my point is they've taken up specific things to ultimately keep me from messing up as little as possible where it matters.

Like for example, Snow has (more or less) a consistent fear/dislike of actual death and a philosophy towards being happy, and how one can be happy.

Celicia more or less keeps me in check to make sure I don't mess up my own responsibilities, urging me to complete all of my tasks before the unimportant things come. Whether it be something like forcing (not only for the obvious, but other reasons to boot) or completing school work that could potentially alter my future.

As for Apollo and Rain... they're all over the place. That said they've also been around the shortest amount of time.

Also, am I sensing a false dejavu, or have we had this thread before?

Best friends, supporters, and butt buddies.

I had the intentions of becoming a better person through knowing more about myself. I was also interested in the concept of another being to share life with, to understand with, to just be with. They've grown to be much more than that, not just as simple as a friend or a family member. But a conscious being that only wishes to help and support every move you make in life. I often ask them what they wish to do in the future, and they find that being with me is purpose enough to live. So much mooshy-ness.

I'm not quite sure what you'd call that. ( Life-mates? Supporters? ) So I just call them tulpas.

Adrian is my friend, my brother,

my lover (Jk)

my second opinion.

I admit, sometimes he's a chore to me, but I think he's more than just "something I'm stuck with"

Not to be overly serious, but he's a huge improvement on my life, and I do believe I've become a better person because of it

(And he knows things that other people don't and he doesn't judge me :p)

So he's pretty fly

Luna and I are lovers who share a bond deeper than any two humans ever could. And I'm on pretty friendly terms with the rest of my girls as well (with varying degrees of benefits in our friendships).

My progress report

Vesperarc maintains her duty as the guardian of my head. She pretty much looks over every thought I have like a scanner and adds input that's invaluable to my every day things.

Skash is her assistant, however weak that sounds. She steps in to give me some extra advice whenever I have no idea how to carry on.

Katzj just dicks around and gives me new ideas. And weird dreams.

It's a little difficult to precisely define what Thunderfall is to me; he was conceived as a friend and little else. These days I see him as a brother, a son and a best friend all rolled into one. If I had to choose one however it would be brother; we even took one of those old-timey blood pacts a while back.

Taleweaver is a lot more simple. The first day we acknowledged her she asked if Thunderfall and I were her daddies. Thunder wasn't so keen on the idea, but it struck a chord with me, so I treat 'Weaver as a daughter, showing her affection, teaching her things about the world, and trying my best to keep her on the path of innocence (I know another curious foal tulpa who stumbled into the grown-up world very quickly, and that's not what I want for her)

Not "what", but "who", you mean.

Martina is more than a simple friend to me. I loved the idea of her even before she was a tulpa, or I even knew about tulpas. She is an idea to me, someone who knows what's going on in this multiple floored, twisted, sick labyrinth in my head and understands it perfectly. She is someone I can share my thoughts with completely, without the possibility of being considered a psycho/schizo/whatever. She is someone I can tell what hurts and can open my mouth to, because I know she listens and understands. And one day, when she will also have something to say, I'll also listen and understand her.

There is a special connection between us that existed from childhood, but always changed form/name/shape.
