Hey, I was quoted .o.

Well I think its possible to attach a tulpa to a object. Kinda like when ppl go crazy and talk to objects.

However I believe that you cant truly transfer a tulpa. Even with a brain transplant you would just be the other person. Meaning a tulpa is in you, its a part of you.

ALSO you can look at my question thread and you will see a link to a guy who has a plushy snake with a tulpa attached to it, let me get it...

Sorry, dont know how to shorten that...

I've already applied sentience to an external object. The real question is how do I see my tulpae as a beautiful woman (the same way Ryan sees Wilfred, from the FX show of the same name, as a man in a dog suit while everyone else see him as just a normal dog)?

Anyone!?

1) it won't be the same as no one else can see your tulpa.

2) with practice and visualization. You can't really make an object turn into something that it is not the best you can hope for is to pretend.

3) wilfred is quite possibly the best representation of what a tulpa actually is that I have ever seen aside from drop dead Fred an I never put two and two together until now

Way back last April or so there was some discussion of this idea or "binding" a tulpa to an object. Without meta stuff (there's a separate board for that here), the only effect would be allowing you to use that object to "summon" or "banish" the tulpa as desired. That is, take the object with you when you want to be with your tulpa, or leave it someplace when you don't.

There were two issues that led to this idea being all but abandoned:

  •
  • Lose the object, lose the tulpa. This can be overcome by binding the tulpa to a shape that you can draw. Lose the original, just make a new one.
  • Effect on your relationship with the tulpa. You want your tulpa to trust you as much as possible, and you want to trust them. Building in a mechanism for getting rid of them implies some lack of trust. A lack of trust breeds fear, and you do not want a relationship built on fear between yourself and another being living in your head. If you and your tulpa respect and trust each other well enough, you can simply ask them to bug off for a bit if they're in the way and they'll usually do it; no need for any special mechanism to do it.

My tulpa willow uses a pillow as an external object, and I cut off a piece of loose string off of the pillow and kept it in a safe. So if I lose my pillow and put the string inside of a new external object (like a pillow or a stuffed animal), will that bring my tulpa back?

Depends on how much you believe in the string. Not to rhyme, but belief's not an entirely conscious thing.

Your tulpa's in your mind, not the object. If you (and your tulpa) believe they're attached to an object, that means you place a lot of importance in it, but they're still in your mind even if it goes away. If having a piece of the object be the primary part your tulpa identifies with means it's more likely to survive than the whole thing, then sure, that works. Putting the string in something else would just be symbolic to help you/your tulpa identify it as them instead of the old thing. Since this is all about belief, it really works however you want it to.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

Why ask other people, just try it. Gosh.

I haven't heard of anyone doing something like this before, but I don't see why it wouldn't work as long as you believe it will. I don't see why you waited so long for an answer instead of going out of your way to try it, though. Symbolism can be an important tool, so let us know how it goes if you actually get around to it.
