So I have began to (Personality) force with my tulpa named Matilda. She is based on an original character I have been working on for about a year now, so I have a solid idea of her form and personality from the start.

I usually have each session alternate between traditional narration of personality traits. Then later in the session go into my wonderland and interact with my tulpa for the rest the the session.

I can visualize my wonderland and tulpa to a decent degree but it can be a small bit unstable (looping, teleporting, spazing, uncontrollable changes) from time to time.

Interactions include:

her running around

(bad) attempts at dancing

nudging me in the shoulder with both hands to get my attention

pointing at something

hugging

sitting together

Me Telling her stories

Asking her questions (which she may respond with a nod, shaking her head, getting visibly excited or frustrated)

Biting me (she doesn't do this much anymore due to me scolding her)

Myself resisting intrusive thoughts to physically hurt her (this is getting easier but such thoughts still happen)

Etc etc...

She never has spoken more than maybe a rare 'yelp'.

Most of Matilda's actions are "canned"(like she is controlling MMO avatar) but I try to only focus on actively controlling my own form and try let thoughts of her to come out of nowhere. I if I ever actively try to control her form I always call out to her in advance. However, I do ask her to surprise me regularly which will sometimes result in her doing something new.

I have been thinking about her a lot and get head pressures regularly around the same time. Sometimes I may passive narrate or ask her questions while doing something else. Sometimes visions of her actions jump into my mind.

So with all the details dumped, I have two questions:

Is it healthy to mix up my early sessions like this?

Are Matilda's own actions a sign of development, of my own "snap thoughts" or are they me "giving suggestions" to Matilda?

1. There certainly isn't anything wrong with mixing up your sessions like that. It gives each session more diversity by covering a broader range of concepts to advance Matilda. So I would think that it would be good.

2. Always assume that it is Matilda's own doing, unless your entirely sure that it was you parroting or puppeting. It helps build up confidence I would think.

Tulpa: Mary

Sex: Female

Began 11-16-12

Stage: Sentient- working on a voice

1. Certainly. There's nothing wrong with diversifying what you do early on.

2. They definitely sound like good development. Moving autonomously, surprising you, and so on are healthy signs of a sentient tulpa, so you don't need to worry about that. You can suggest things for your tulpa to do almost unconsciously, but that doesn't make them not sentient: you can do something that someone else tells you and not lose free will, right? Using the host's thoughts as a crutch for action in early sentience is fairly expectable.

I know there have been previous responses but here's my input:

1. I did this as well, and I have 2 tulpas now. I actually did this with both of my tulpas at first as well. One of my tulpas could move and walk around before he had a defined personality. My first tulpa developed her personality based on the way she acted in the wonderland.

2. I feel that the more you "assist" your tulpa, the better they will get in being independent. At first I thought I was parroting my tulpa's movement, but I realized that I had assisted her in movement so much that she was doing it autonomously.

I suppose I just am having trouble telling apart my thoughts from Matilda's. What gets visualized is the very first thing that comes to mind when talking to Matilda. The instant I think of something to say to her, the thought of a response is usually instant, before I can even mindvoice what I wish to say.

Is this how Tulpae are? Will this feeling change as Matilda develops?

Edit: Apparently a thread link below this post edit window had the same first question and an answer.
