Kiahdaj August 31, 2013 Author Share August 31, 2013 Why would one of us becoming a mod make them magically listen to us? The point is, we are trying to talk to them now and have been for a long time. One of us having a moderator status wouldn't make them want to listen to us any more. I definitely agree to your second point. The only reputations I have ever heard of Slushie have been terrible ones. Everyone here knows he can't moderate. Having someone like you said - that people respect - moderating could be a good thing. I personally respect TC, but not necessarily are they really well known. I dunno. And again, we've been trying to work together. It's the staff's job on a forum to listen to its members. We're trying to work things out, but when all of their responses are "no u", it makes it difficult. "If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be." Sands August 31, 2013 Share August 31, 2013 I agree with a lot of what you said. However, Phi did the same in the past. He is gone now, reasons which might involve the other mods. I am unsure. Phi himself didn't seem to think too highly of the mods and their actions. He was good at what he did, but I do not know if what he did was what kept the moderators in check or if the moderators back then weren't like they are now. I do not know if it will help now. Dr. Faust August 31, 2013 Share August 31, 2013 I hear you guys and you would know at this point what has worked and what hasn't. Beyond trying to answer rhetorical questions which I have a bad habit of doing in attempts to win arguments (as I have done in the past with my earlier posts), I just think a proactive approach showing that effort will be made on the poster's side and on the moderator's side will make the difference here. Beyond making this topic and these posts, I really don't know what else could be done except offering to share their workload. I haven't really seen anything but negative feedback and just like shoveling manure, it kind of stinks if that's all you have to work with. Sands August 31, 2013 Share August 31, 2013 Welcome to dealing with .info mods. They think the problem can be saved with redesigns and more stupid rules when the real problem lies within them. Good luck trying to tell them that in a way that doesn't result in a no u.
