This story is personal to me. I've always loved dragons. Loved them to the point where I want to be one. However, I can't obviously. It would mean the world to me if I could be one or see one just for a little bit. To be in a fantasy world would be amazing.

I've tried dreaming but I'm not sure if I dream at all. Which feels depressing. I'm not sure if I could be tested by being wole up in a rem sleep test.

I've heard of NDE's, where people see a light and meet with god. Maybe I could meet a dragon. But that won't happen til the day I die and I'm not even sure if I'll have one.

I guess my only hope is to try making a tulpa. I hope that they are real and people aren't just making them up like imaginary friends. If this doesn't work I don't know what I'll do.

Well you certainly aren't crazy, you just have an abnormally strong attatchment/obsession with a certain mythical creature. I highly doubt that it's something medical like a dissociative disorder, for instance. I highly doubt that anyone who regulars here is actually making it up, but I could be the only one with a real tulpa for all I know. Unfortunately, that thought is pointless, limiting, and hinders progress in the long run. So no- it's not fake. And don't worry...

We're all crazy here.

(I would like to point out that that was a joke)

Tulpas are as "real" as you let them be. Imaginary friends are a little less "real" usually because you pretend they actually exist, and therefore take their existence for granted. You don't develop their personality or sentience, they're just a subconscious puppet. Tulpas can become just as real as you, ie have their own personality and such like you do. Technically you can "switch" with them and basically put them in charge of your body, and at that point they really are as real as you.

Anyway. My brother has a dragon tulpa, your post reminded me of something he'd say. Tulpas don't have to be a human, there's a bunch of ponies and anthros and just straight up animals (wolves are pretty common). There's no reason the guides here shouldn't work for making your tulpa a dragon, it's been done before. Though it might be a bit hard to imagine a large full-size dragon, it's not impossible, but I do recommend like.. Bipedal ones, at least. Whatever you want and, later, whatever your tulpa wants.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

I hypnotized a child when I was young and made them see a giant panda in their living room running back and forth. They were impressed. Not everyone is that easily hypnotizable.

^^^ I don't mean to be rude but how is this related?

^^It shows that some people seeing hallucinations comes more naturally.

I thought he was referring to visual imposition of the dragon.

I do want to throw out there that after reading your post a few more times it seems like you may be depressed.

1) when making a tulpa you have to understand that the potential for deviation is there. You could want a dragon but your tulpa could decide to go another way. On the other hand it may work out just fine but you should still be aware.

2) don't rely on your tulpa to "fix" you. While they can help in some ways understand that your depression may still be there however it may switch focus to something else.

3) your tulpa for a long while will only be astral as if you were just picturing a dragon in your mind. If imagining A dragon doesn't make these feelings go away you may want to consider another option.

4) the ease in which you talk about death and dragons kind of worries me, if you have an underlying condition you should seek help. A tulp is not going to fix this issue but we've covered this in point 2.

5) dragons are not real. I understand the fascination and it can be healthy but there are many things in the world to focus on. If not seeing a dragon causes physical depression than I would not suggest a tulpa, I would suggest a hobby or maybe some friends.

That all being said. Yes tulpas are real. There may be a few jerks here but were not making this up. If you're head and heart are in the right place then you are on the way to making a wonderful friend and there are tons of resources and people willing to help including myself.

I think I know how you feel (about dragons anyway). I just want to say that Saphira is a dragon, and we've got on perfectly well all things considered. I've actually got to the point where, in the wonderland and we are flying, I can feel the weightlessness as we dive through the belly of a cloud, or the wind in my face as we glide on thermals watching the sun set. It's actually very fun :D

On another level, for visualisation and imposition, it can be pretty hard. In my case anyway, facial features and glittering scale were pretty tricky. I am still only on visualisation at the moment anyway.

If you decide a tulpa is for you, I'm sure that we could help in some way should you need it.

P.S. I'm also doing requests for drawing people's dragon tulpas. It could also be useful as areference sheet.

Part of the road to becoming a better person lies in defeating the darkness inside yourself, then helping others to do the same.
