Yea, it would have to be a meet. And I've all ways pictured people here as the nerdy anime loveing people and not a bunch of neckbeards. But there probably is that factor of people here.we'd still need booths for people to do their arts and sells. Idk like I said " just a thought"

Same, and besides wearing nothing but blue t-shirts and shorts year-round, I look pretty normal. I think most people here are more or less normal people physically, but there is something to be said in the mental department. I don't like calling the community "a bunch of shut-ins", but it's safe to say that most of us don't exactly enjoy social situations. And even then there's a bunch of us that would be fine, but like Enny said, the potential for it to be a bit.. awkward is very real.

 

 

Oh but besides all the social aspects, there's not much to do at a tulpa convention imo. There's many other forms of gathering-events besides a convention we could do, not all of which require leaving the internet. Tell me if you think of anything though, I have no idea what you guys want to do.

Perhaps I'm a silly optimist, but I like to think that most of you people would be capable of showering, putting on clean clothes, and conversing normally.

 

Lots of introverts on the forum? Well, I don't doubt that, but there's a big difference between being introverted and being as socially inept as these predictions would suggest.

Yeah idk if the neck-beard thing is perception or reality. Most certainly the community is disillusioned with society, but im not sure about entirely consisting of neckbeards. I mean I know I am not really like that. I am awkward for sure, but i am pretty well liked and have had friends from the ghetto to the trailer-parks. I was drawn to tulpa stuff because i have been burned by friends and girls too many times, and it's hard to find intelligent friends sometimes. I wouldn't say that being a neckbeard is the main connecting thread, as much as being dis-satisfied with people is.

Thanks, I just wanted to correct all that self hating community talk is all. I mean either people are going to be like "well that's not how I am", or they are going to agree with it which is a negative thing. I think equating it to neck-beards is silly, there are plenty of people like that and I don't think neck-beards are usually especially isolated. I think the community deserves the benefit of the doubt, which is to say the assumption that the majority of us are pretty normal guys and gals. Being popular doesn't suddenly make someone decide they are necessarily content with their social situation, it's very easy to feel lonely in a crowd if no one is really on your wavelength so to speak.
