Alexavier March 18, 2015 March 18, 2015 Those tanks where you lay down in light water and there's no sound, no light and no feeling. You're just floating and into nothingness, pretty sure a few of you know what i'm talking about. and if you don't, look at this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isolation_tank Anyways, if any of you ever experienced being in one, how did it feel like? Was it the best active forcing experience in your life? Did you feel like you made tremendous progress with your Tulpa while being in the Isolation tank? And if you've never been in one, how do you think the experience would feel like with your Tulpa? Reality is a story the mind tells itself. An artificial structure conjured into being by the calcium ion exchange of a million synaptic firings. A truth so strange it can only be lied into existence. And our mind can lie. Never doubt it...
Ashmo March 18, 2015 March 18, 2015 There was a fellow a while back that wrote about how he forced in an iso-tank. I can't remember how far developed his tupper was, but he spoke of it being a good experience, and if he could afford to do it one a regular basis, he could see how it could become a vital forcing tool.
DKfury March 18, 2015 March 18, 2015 I suppose it could be beneficial, myself I get back pains while forcing so it would be a great thing to try, to have no external stimuli would grant more awareness to the mind. This would produce more efficient forcing, if floating in seemingly nothingness helps with concentration I can see how it could be greatly effective for those like myself (Damn ADHD) who react to almost any external stimuli.
Luminesce March 18, 2015 March 18, 2015 Isolation tanks, as long as you can handle them well mentally, are really really good for mental focus. I imagine it could even be fun if you had a tulpa to accompany you. I'd like to try it, but it's not something I can afford to spend money on. Lying in bed in a dark room will have to do. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
Yakumo March 18, 2015 March 18, 2015 Shouldn't be too hard to build one yourself. My main issue would be the space this thing takes up. Anyway, if you try to do it don't forget to add a ventilation system or you'll be in for some posthumous fame.
radicalbenx March 19, 2015 March 19, 2015 If any of you do make a Isolation tank, you need this special kind of salt to keep you floating or you could drown. :/
Stevie March 19, 2015 March 19, 2015 If any of you do make a Isolation tank, you need this special kind of salt to keep you floating or you could drown. :/ Epsom salt. You need hundreds of pounds of it to actually float, though. The water also has to match the temperature of your skin perfectly. It's hard to do in a bath tub, because the water eventually gets colder than your skin, and you start knowing where you begin and end. Epsom salt is also just a good thing to have in general. There's a ton of things it can be used for, in a pinch, and it's not too pricey either. Making a homemade sensory deprivation tank is pretty hard, from what I'm looking at. Too bad actually getting a session in one is expensive as hell. We're all gonna make it brah.

Once you've made it though, you can charge other people for those expensive as hell sessions. "Some things have to be believed to be seen." - Ralph Hodgson
GuessWho March 20, 2015 March 20, 2015 I wish. It sounds kind of awesome. I'm definitely going to try it one day when I have more time and money.
Stryke March 20, 2015 March 20, 2015 The first time I saw a rerun of that one Simpsons episode after starting my tulpa journey I thought to myself "Yep, gotta try Thunder out in one of those if I ever get the chance." Seemed like a no-brainer to me, as I don't have much opportunity for active forcing. Perhaps one day when I'm settled in a job. I live near the UK's major hippy town, so there must be something similar around there among all the meditation centres and what-have-you. As long as it doesn't make me fall asleep...
