So today I discovered that you can totally register 6-char domain names, like there are plenty available. So I registered j-l.pw which means I can have my very own 8-char short links, like j-l.pw/r

 

I changed all the links in my signature to use it just because I can.

By that logic, bla.io and lol.international are the same length. I'm looking to make the shortest links, so tld length matters.

There are no one character TLDs. All two letter TLDs are country codes, and that country freely decides what restrictions (if any) to put on registrations for that domain.

 

.pw is for the pacifc island nation of palau, see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/.pw

 

Registration is open to the general public.
