tulpa001 June 9, 2017 June 9, 2017 I don't think operating temperature limits as high as 120 c are rare for intel personal chips. It is also unlikely to cause damage to the rest of your computer, as it is a localised heat source. With such small surfaces these days, I am wondering a bit why they don't put heat sinks on both sides of the chips. My laptop has a design problem. Everything that produces heat is put on the left side of the device. Creating a massive hot spot when playing anything requiring power. I've started putting metal objects under it. It's more effective than the in-built fan. Host comments in italics. Tulpa's log. Tulpa's guide.
Guest June 9, 2017 June 9, 2017 120c is definitely above the point in which a desktop processor would throttle, as well as reach the point in which it's considered "unsafe", but yeah, I'm not too worried about it taking out more than just the chip itself or anything. Not sure what average temps on a laptop processor are, under max load. I mean, hell, as long as it's in the 70 degree range I'd be fine, but some lower temps for that added assurance would certainly be nice. The 7700k comes stock at 4.2GHz or so, and the possibility of running one at 5.0 while maintaining really reasonable temps is more than a bit appealing, too. For reference I'm only able to get my 4690k up to about 4.2 from 3.5 for, I don't know, reasons, and that's a good few years old, now. Man, they could do literally anything to increase cooling efficiency, but as it stands, their complacent asses won't. That's an interesting way of cooling your laptop. If the numbers look good, keep it up. What brand/model is it? I've been off and on looking into laptops for a couple years, but can never really decide on anything.
tulpa001 June 9, 2017 June 9, 2017 It's a 6500u. I think it's tdp 15w. But you wouldn't know it, because the underside of the computer casing reaches 70c all on its own. I don't think it has a graphics card. Host comments in italics. Tulpa's log. Tulpa's guide.

Nachtrabe June 13, 2017 June 13, 2017 Hah, you should've heard Cyril's delighted little "oooh :D". We spent some time in Italy last week and I think his favorite thing there was the pizza with so much garlic topping I was mildly surprised that my buddy - who had to sleep next to me - didn't kick me out of the hotel room afterward for smelling like a walking, talking vampire repellent. Aaaand now I'm hungry. |N - host || Cyril - tulpa| [Progress Report] [Ask Thread]
Douglas June 15, 2017 June 15, 2017 Completely random tulpa thought: I started my tulpa right after summer vacation started. I wonder what she'll think once school starts again? "Whoa, what the heck, who are all these people?! Daniel, what's wrong with you, why are you sitting and doing nothing seven hours a day? What is going on?! Do something useful!!!" I'm thinking too far into the future... Another random thought: What's your favorite type of cheese? Mine is Sharp Wisconsin White Cheddar, Sprouts Brand! =D Hmm...
Nachtrabe June 15, 2017 June 15, 2017 Every time I mention something my tulpa doesn't understand, he snoops through my memories trying to find out what I'm talking about. That's usually a good thing, but it also means I didn't get to see his baffled reaction to university lectures. Turns out he really doesn't like palaeography, though. Regarding cheese (and that is indeed pretty dang random): Tilsit cheese, raclette (molten cheese is the best kind of cheese) and mozzarella. Fun fact: in German, "cheese" can be used as synonym for "bullshit" in certain cases: "Das ist doch Käse (= cheese)" regarding something that's obviously not cheese usually means "that's bullshit". /randomness |N - host || Cyril - tulpa| [Progress Report] [Ask Thread]

Luminesce June 16, 2017 June 16, 2017 That test has nothing to do with tulpas and everything to do with your ability to keep track of two things at once. Which is pretty much parallel processing, which has to do with tulpas. But I'm like the worst parallel processer ever apparently, it kept me from learning to play piano (because I didn't have much motivation to do it in the first place, not that it was literally impossible), and it keeps me from doing well on that test, tulpa assistance or not. But I've been too lazy to try again since I did it years ago.. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
KarlYoshimura June 17, 2017 June 17, 2017 Turn down for what? This life of games and diligent trust, it's the things we do and the things we must. I'm now tired of being cussed, so go sleep forever, end to dust. -Crystal Castles, VANISHED
