If playing with our cognition and imagination is role-playing, then I guess even activities like lucid dreaming seem meaningless if it entails circumstances of being militant on anti-role-playing. I guess the word itself seems to be an umbrella term that ends up objectifying the efficacy and sense of purpose of things we do naturally that may also be questioned as a norm, or not.
