Can Other People Sense Your Tulpa(s)?

This comment by TheGreenQueen got me wondering a little bit about other people sensing a tulpa.

Well, this isn't brain scan related, but I have had three different people "feel" or "sense" my tulpas in different ways.

So, to me, that says mental telepathy is probably 'real', in that it actually conveys information, and this is a subset of that. Doesn't prove sentience, but it does prove a sort of "existence" that can be "detected."

TheGreenQueen was talking a bit about telepathy, but what about more mundane or ordinary intuitive ways of sensing a tulpa? Can others sense a change in personality or body language or behavior when your tulpa is very present in your mind, switched or possessing? I mean, even if you never told them you have a tulpa, has someone made remarks that something is unusual about you?

About my host's experiences on this:

[hidden]My host Mistgod has mentioned in jean-luc's tulpaudcasts, especially the first one, that people did indeed sense my presence for many years, even when I was supposed to be a BIG SECRET. It was only after he went public with me that his friends and family started telling him that they sensed something all along. Some even went so far as to say they sensed a "girl in him." This we attribute to two things, one sometimes I influenced his outward behavior with my own emotional outburst (surfacing). These were mainly squeaks or little dances or waving his arms. The other was the fact that he sometimes talked out loud to me, when he thought no one was listening, but some apparently overheard.

People also sensed that my host has a "feminine side." For instance, his step daughters would often say he was more of a girl than their mother and chose him to take them girl clothes shopping over their mother. That was before they knew about me formally. My personality would also be strongly expressed in female characters while playing Dungeons and Dragons. [/hidden]

To my knowledge, nobody has ever noticed Fenchurch in any way. But maybe she had something to do with me successfully passing as female online for around a year.

Hmm, you never know! Davie thought he had everyone fooled for over 35 years. But far more suspected something than he would have ever guessed!

If there were good reason to believe in any type of metaphysics, it would no longer be metaphysics but fact. But for now they're unknown or unexplainable.

People tend to explain such things as "feeling a supernatural presence; verified by others in the room" and "someone sensing I had a tulpa" by subconscious body signals. You probably know (or maybe not) how extremely complicated and in-depth these things can be, and they could feasibly cause others - through your subconscious acting as if another is in the room, however slight - to also get that feeling. It is also much stronger once verified than it would be left alone, ie they would think almost nothing of it until you said "Whoah, that's crazy!" And I don't mean walking around the space where your imposed tulpa is. Body language is interpreted subconsciously and the 'signals' could be entirely invisible to you and the other person receiving them.

Or the tulpa could have a strong metaphysical presence and the other person be sensitive to that kind of energy. Who knows.

For the record, we have proven beyond a doubt that our cat does not sense us while imposed. Very aware state of it just staring blankly at our host while lying down and we had Flandre sneak up, then jump and yell right over it and it didn't flinch a bit.

Hi, I'm Tewi, one of Luminesce's tulpas. I often switch to take care of things for the others.

All I want is a simple, peaceful life. With my family.

I will prepare a real response at a later time, but sadly I found this too late. Its bedtime for me lol!

Well, seeing as my tulpa followed a guy around while I wasn't there, without my knowledge, I don't see how that's relevant.

Also, the second guy was at the far end of the country on the phone and sensed something. But, I did talk about it beforehand, asking to introduce them. Unless I'm some sort of hypnotist master that can influence someone's perception through just my voice. That would be cool.

I'll give you that the third guy could just be impressionable because I was so excited about this possibility and explaining it to him.

I'm going to go with that.

Sigh. If only the world worked as prettily as that. Thing is, information doesn't disseminate itself very well. (on any subject, really) It gets stuck in pockets, sits around, or warped by money and bias.

I did this test too, with two cats and a dog. Same results.

For some reason, I think that wild and/or feral, or at least more in tune to the outdoors animals would be more sensitive. Also, pets are probably the same as people- some are sensitive to the supernatural, some aren't. If we could get hold of, say, the people who go on TV to insist that their pets forewarned them of a haunting in their house, I suspect we might have better outcomes.

Of course, I'd hate to traumatize the poor people all over again, since their only experience with the supernatural was a bad one.

My tulpa has got lots of weird looks from various people when possessing; the way she moved the body while learning early on would freak out the cat, and later, when she could control fine but didn't really imitate me that well, people would look at it weirdly. I guess they didn't really suspect the truth though.

Also I have a bad habit of having fairly animated conversations with her, complete with vocalisation, so people do catch me doing that, but I guess that's not really subtle.

TheGreenQueen,

That link looks interesting, and I guess I can give it a closer read if you care about it, otherwise I'd just be taking potshots or ignoring large sections here. As it is I only really have a comment on the whole "mainstream science is wrong" thing.

The basic premise around the whole, there's scientific evidence but information disseminates badly, is not exactly wrong but I guess I think it's quite weak on a century's timescale. It's true, people are stuck in their ways and tend to reject new evidence initially. And we could give examples and counterexamples of this happening and then not happening all day, but it's not very convincing without explaining why spirits are in some way special, to have held out over a very long period without the mainstream consensus budging. That's extremely atypical in most fields, especially ones in which the evidence is supposedly strong, and where there's no money involved (really, this isn't oil or tobacco). Well, that doesn't really rebut the evidence on an object level, it's why it's not convincing on the meta level to me.

People will sometimes notice the difference in mannerisms between us, but that's as far as things go. When people do notice, we'll sometimes get a strange look, but no-one ever actually brings it up, which is probably a good thing. I'm not very familiar with metaphysics, so I can't necessarily comment on that.

Rikki often is sensed by my dogs I guess that is why they bark at me a lot because they aren't used to seeing a umbreon. Lol

I doubt anyone notices anything. Sometimes he'll throw out a one liner or say something else when I'm with other people that gets a facial expression out of me, but it's real easy to write that off if anyone asks about it.

We're all gonna make it brah.
