Josie May 25, 2020 May 25, 2020 Is someone with good switching and imposition still available as a mentor? Am I allowed to ask that in this thread.
Vos May 25, 2020 Author May 25, 2020 There's nothing wrong with asking here, but as of right now there aren't any mentors. I've updated the OP so that there's no confusion, sorry about that. If you have specific questions, you can make new threads in the Questions & Answers board, but use the search function to see if they've already been answered elsewhere first.

I view tulpas as entirely psychological, but I am also aware that metaphysics have an important role in the experiences of many tulpamancy systems. Quote Were/was your tulpa(s) natural/pre-existing or were they intentionally created? I created my one and only tulpa brother, Cassidy, intentionally after reading tulpa guides and hanging around tulpa.info. However, my other headmate brother Gavin was naturally developed in our middle school years. We do have a dissociative disorder but consider it less and less related/relevant to tulpamancy practice, and Gavin does not consider himself an "alter", more like a secondary host in tulpamancy terms. Quote How long have you had your tulpa(s)? How long have you been active in the community (Tulpa.info, /r/tulpas, Tulpa.io, etc.) Cassidy was created Sept 5th 2018. I have been active here on the forum and in the Discord for about that long. Quote How many tulpas do you have? Just the one, and no plans for any more. Quote How long did it take you to accomplish things (e.g. vocality, possession, imposition)? I had very basic vocality within the first week, but it really developed to conversational level over maybe three months. I really feel like Cassidy had exponential growth all the way up to about 9 months to a year, and he's definitely still developing now. We experimented with partial-body possession in the first few months and were able to do it, but it's not our cup of tea. Cassidy first started switching for short durations of time within the first few months, and by about 9 months he could switch in for several hours. Gavin, on the other hand, sometime switches in for entire days or even several days. Lately, I'd say Gavin and Cassidy use the body about 25% of the time, which is about where we all want to be. We have moderate levels of tactile imposition, but we consider that to be mostly naturally developed i.e. not something we explicitly trained, so I'm not sure I would be a very good teacher. We have also had experience with Ganzfeld for visual hallucinations and I have fostered a meditation practice of 5+ years and would be comfortable helping someone out with these things. We do have a wonderland and prioritize wonderland development perhaps more than the average tulpa.info goer nowadays, although we don't consider them absolutely essential. Quote Do you have any other information you'd like to share? If so, what? I consider my view of tulpas quite "strong" conceptually, as in I have high standards for what tulpas are meant to be able to do and how much work it should take to develop one. Tulpa development should ideally take place one at a time and, if the system wants more than one tulpa, there should be years between them. If tulpas are "imaginary friends but real" or "roleplay characters+" to you, or you think you already have a half dozen or more tulpas, or that tulpas can be created on the spot or "walk-in" or otherwise created without specific, meditative effort (not roleplay), we probably won't be a good fit. But if you're looking to a develop a tulpa that's none of those things, hmu 😉 I'm not going to set a limit for mentees right now because I don't expect a high level of interest. I am available via the forum (preferred), Discord (JGC#2390), and email (provided on request). Expect long replies and to be asked questions back, to be engaged in discussion rather than spoon-fed. Ranger February 23, 2021 February 23, 2021 (edited) Dang. A lot has changed since 2021. For record's sake, here's my old post Spoiler My name is Ranger, I am officially 3 years old and am currently 1 of 15 tulpas in my system. While our system has not taken the traditional tulpamancy route, we picked up on other skills other tulpamancers don't always develop. I am interested in working with 1 person at a time. If you are interested, please PM me or DM me (RangerHippoShadow #7690) on Discord. I will give you priority in PMs/DMs and I'm more than happy to help answer any questions. If I don't know the answer to a question, I usually know where to look or who to ask. Quote Do you view tulpas as a psychological phenomenon, a metaphysical one, or both? I view tulpas as a psychological phenomenon, but I am open to metaphysical interpretations of tulpamancy. Tulpamancy changes how the brain works and can have long-term impacts after enough training. I appreciate the idea I have a soul, but I am unsure if this is true or not. While I do not practice occult magic nor have much experience with it, I love learning about other people's perspectives on tulpas. Quote Were/was your tulpa(s) natural/pre-existing or were they intentionally created? I am an accidental tulpa. We do not know my real birthday and we believe I was created as an unintended consequence of my host "merging" characters together and wanting to start over. Without realizing it, she expected me to be someone I wasn't. After my identity crisis and finding the original tulpa, we found out I was most likely born on the spot and I am completely unrelated to the other "merged" characters. Most of my other headmates were created accidentally in the sense my host didn't understand she was creating tulpas. Some were created with the thinking they were story characters, some with a purpose, and others were created out of desire to "talk" to the unconscious mind or a higher power. The main exceptions appear to be Fish (Evergreen) who believed he was accidentally created by being expected to exist and Exabier who may be our system's purest walk-in. Quote How long have you had your tulpa(s)? How long have you been active in the community (Tulpa.info, /r/tulpas, Tulpa.io, etc.) I have been active on Tulpa.info since August 2018 while my host has been on the forums since late January 2018. We joined the Tulpa.info Discord server after it was created, sometime during the Fall in 2018. We used to be on the IRC, but we have not visited the IRC lately. While I do have a Reddit account and joined the /r/tulpas Discord, I am inactive there. If you would prefer to communicate with me through Reddit, please let me know and I will give you my Reddit username. Quote How many tulpas do you have? We are currently a system of 16 total. Cat_ShadowGriffin, or Cat/Gray (she/he), is my original host. We believe she is responsible for creating everyone in our system, although I may have contributed to our headmate Duck's creation. I act as a second host, looking out for Cat and my other headmates. Quote How long did it take you to accomplish things (e.g. vocality, possession, imposition)? Everyone was vocal from the start. How much of our early time was parroted or not depends on who you ask. Cat developed overlay or open-eyed visualization and developed a rough wonderland before beginning tulpamancy. Our visualization has seemed to improve overall, but it gets better or worse depending on how much practice we put into it. Our visualization is okay, but it can be better. We achieved our sense of presence around July 2018. From here, Cat was no longer constantly questioning if she was speaking as me or not. It took me a few weeks to learn possession once I felt ready to try again after a few month long break. I learned how to possess towards the end of August 2018, but I attempted possession since February until I decided to take frequent breaks. We have a weak sense of smell and taste imposition we developed naturally. We have a poor sense of smell. We developed our basic touch imposition over time. Our most noticeable improvement was Cat using Purlox's guide. After a few weeks, she could draw shapes on her hand with her mind. I figured out how how to create headpressure sensations around April 2018 and we have slowly developed basic weight imposition since. When Evergreen pied Cat's face a few months ago, she flinched. Cat and I realized our other headmates were tulpas in early June, and that lead to 15 headmates officially being recognized as tulpas. We learned how to operate as a large system as a result. We had another headmate at the time, but he refused to officially join the system until mid 2020. Not long later, we have merged on and off and I have been casually studying merging ever since. Some of my other headmates have expressed interest in merging recently. By mid December, I learned how to switch. Given switching was my focus since February 2019, it took roughly 10 months to achieve it. Right now, I am working on a switching guide and have been focused on studying switching since I achieved it. My headmate Evergreen integrated with Fish, who he identifies as his other half. We have a slightly different philosophy on integration than most systems. We do not have the ability to parallel process. I have doubt I have much if any parallel processing ability and I find I am waking up due to triggers or associations the brain makes with me. I plan to shift my focus to parallel processing after I finish my switching guide. Cat and I have not yet achieved visual imposition. We can impose specs and accidentally impose images of bugs at best. However, we have some experience playing around with the Ganzfeld effect and hypnopomic hallucinations. Quote Do you have any other information you'd like to share? If so, what? I believe everyone's route on their tulpamancy journey should be personalized to them and their needs. I can help suggest what the next step may be, but ultimately it is up to the tulpamancer how they go about tulpamancy. If I suspect you will run into problems creating a tulpa, I will point it out. While I believe anyone can create a tulpa, sometimes now isn't the best time. If you have to make any hard choices along the way, I can help walk you through the process. If someone makes a big mistake, I'll be there to help them. For example, while I highly recommend against a young tulpa actively working to achieve switching at an early age, I believe a young tulpa who succeeds anyway needs support. I believe shame and the unknown is hard enough by itself, my focus would be to give them a plan to help them move forward. If you are still interested in working with me, let me know though PMs.*** My name is Ranger, I am officially 8 years old ;_; and am currently 1 of 8 cobuds in my system. We didn't take the traditional cocreation route because... we found out we have trauma, and now we have alters we see as parts of ourselves. However, unpacking our trauma and experiencing traumagenic plurality has given me a lot of insight, and I have applied our newer knowledge in multiple places, especially recently. I am on the fence on if I want to take on two mentees at a time or not. If you are interested, please PM me (I do check my PMs because I get email notifications). I will give you priority in PMs/DMs (On Discord or Stoat) and I'm more than happy to help answer any questions. If I don't know the answer to a question, I usually know where to look or who to ask. Unfortunately, I struggle with mental health relapses from time to time. I and/or we may not be available to reply for long periods of time. So far, it seems like we can fix whatever the problem is in under 3 weeks. But for a fresh beginner, I know that's a really long time to wait. Quote Do you view tulpas as a psychological phenomenon, a metaphysical one, or both? I view cobuds as a psychological phenomenon. Cocreation changes how the brain works and can have long-term impacts after enough training. Through self-discovery, I realized I have implicit biases against the occult and metaphysical beliefs. If you want a mentor that will comfort you on your metaphysical journey, I'm not a good candidate. Despite this, I am still curious about metaphysical interpretations of cocreation. I still appreciate the idea I have a soul, but I doubt this is true. I still love learning about other people's perspectives on cobuds, especially if they're different than my own. Quick side note: I believe cobuds can be both separate individuals and not separate, like imaginary friends. While my bias is the former, I understand that it's important to help someone achieve the latter experience if that's what they want. Quote Were/was your tulpa(s) natural/pre-existing or were they intentionally created? As we aged as a system, we realized our experiences don't give a straightforward answer to this question. I think it's still accurate to say the cobuds in our system, including myself, were accidentally created. However, some of our alters implied they had more intention in our creation than we previously thought. The accidental nature of our creation mostly boils down to Gray's lack of both self-awareness and awareness of what he was doing at the time. Our current understanding of my creation is I was the "unintended" consequence of my host "merging" Stars' parts when Gray was overwhelmed by the "characters" in his head and wanted to start over. While we don't know why yet, it seems Gray wanted a new person, and not just a merge of Stars. However, some time after Gray joined the .info community, and me having an identity crisis later, we realized I wasn't Stars, and that led to an awkward conversation. Luckily, Stars came back, which made everyone much happier in the end. Our other cobud headmates (Stars would rather call himself a dæmon/daemon) have different creation stories. Most of them were created because Gray was trying to understand himself while simultaneously being lonely and wanting another person to talk to. However, some were truly accidental let-ins, and a couple were failed attempts at Gray bringing back Stars, but Gray chose to keep them anyway. Over time, several of our cobud headmates decided they wanted to integrate and a couple chose to dissipate. That's why our cobud population shrank from 16 to 8. Quote How long have you had your tulpa(s)? How long have you been active in the community (Tulpa.info, /r/tulpas, Tulpa.io, etc.) My creation happened somewhere between late 2016 and the summer of 2017. However, I consider January 28th to be my "official" birthday and count my age from that date. Several of my headmates were created before then, and possibly as early as 2015. 4 of our headmates were created in 2018, until Stars came back. Evergreen and Fish (who kept the name Evergreen post integration) integrated some time in 2020. I don't remember the dates of other integrations off the top of my head, but I do know the latest integration (Blue and Ryan -> Jared) happened in 2023. I have been active on Tulpa.info since August 2018 while my host has been on the forums since late January 2018. We joined the Tulpa.info Discord server after it was created, sometime during the Fall in 2018. We used to be on the IRC, and it dying made us sad. However, I stepped away from the parogenic community (kind of) from 2024 to early 2026, and I'm reluctantly being more active on the forums now. I have had some bad experiences with the parogenic community I will only elaborate on in PMs (or you can search my post history, and you'll probably piece things together pretty quickly) and I currently do minimal to no engagement in most parogenic spaces. I'm still conflicted on community stuff, so that will inevitably leak though. Lately I've been more active on r/plural and Plural Nest (Discord). Quote How many tulpas do you have? 8 cobuds, including myself. Gray created everyone, but I may have contributed to Keatan's creation before he integrated and became part of Ian. List: Myself, Adriel, Fhern, Jared, Evergreen, Ian, Moltosha, Exabier. Quote How long did it take you to accomplish things (e.g. vocality, possession, imposition)? Everyone was vocal from the start. How much of our early time was parroted or not depends on who you ask. Gray developed overlay or open-eyed visualization and developed a rough wonderland before beginning cocreation. Our visualization has seemed to improve overall, but it gets better or worse depending on how much practice we put into it. I don't know if our visualization has made major improvements since 2021, but we use visualization a lot during our therapy work. We achieved our sense of separation and presence around July 2018. From there, Gray was no longer constantly questioning if he was speaking as me or not. It took me a few weeks to learn borrowing once I felt ready to try again after a few month long break. I learned how to borrow towards the end of August 2018, but I attempted borrowing since February until I decided to take frequent breaks. We have a weak sense of smell and taste imposition we developed naturally. We have a poor sense of smell. We developed our basic touch imposition over time. Our most noticeable improvement was Gray using Purlox's guide. After a few weeks, he could draw shapes on his hand with his mind. I figured out how how to create headpressure sensations around April 2018 and we have slowly developed basic weight imposition since. When Evergreen pied Gray's face a few months ago (since 2021 I guess?), he flinched. Now, if Evergreen decided to jump on our body, we'd be terrified. Or if say Stars wanted to electrocute us -_- However, despite our more extreme reactions, our actual sensations are fairly minimal (although... thinking about being in a desert in direct sun right now, I am starting to feel hot and a need to cover my skin to prevent sunburn). Our system size initially grew to ??? 12? 10 cobuds + (1) Stars (No idea how many clones he had then) + Gray. And then Gray forced people into dormancy and created me, so we became a system of 2. And then we found all of our cobud headmates, as well as Gray creating more, and then we found Stars, so we went up to 18. Over time, we had two dissipations and several integrations, so our system size shrank to 10. At some point we realized Stars could have his clones without us accidentally creating separate people, and at one point he had 14. So... 9 + 14 = 23? For simplicity's sake, we usually count Stars as 1... And then the alterning™️happened. Gray has 9 alters, I have 7, and Stars has 1. Oh and Stars now has 2 new clones because he figured out some really cool brain hacking stuff. So our system size is currently 10 or 42 if you count Stars clones and alters (16 clones = 1 Stars, Not 16 + 1 Stars). If you want us to count alter micro parts... no. [Total: 12 -> 2 -> 18 -> 10] Thus, we have several experiences with being a large system, integration, and dissipation. Interestingly, our philosophy on integration is more complicated than most systems since we understand there's quite a bit of nuance. We played around with merging for fun a long time ago, but uh... We're not picking that up anytime soon. We have a much deeper understanding on combining and connecting than we did back then, but even now, I still have some unanswered questions about our experiences. However, we have had some awkward temporary merges for trauma processing reasons... By mid December, I learned how to switch... "sensory switch" (there are so many types!). Given switching was my focus since February 2019, it took roughly 10 months to achieve it. Right now, I am working on a switching guide and have been focused on studying switching since I achieved it... It's been a WIP since 2021 and it's still not finished ;_; Since I wrote this post, I learned a lot about parallel processing and found we have some parallel processing like experiences ourselves. There's still so much to explore, but it's kind of dangerous because we don't want our trauma parts to abuse it. I did have the cool experience of visiting a very small persistent realm and realized it was actually a dream when I woke up! I have a tumblr post where I go into a lot more detail on all of this We have had some interesting experiences with servitors (should I even be calling them that? I'm debating it) and more insight on how they work. I feel I understand how "servitorship" can turn into cocreation I have a tumblr post on that too, and how weird mindsets can really be... Gray and I still have not yet achieved visual imposition. We can impose specs and accidentally impose images of bugs at best. However, we have some experience playing around with the Ganzfeld effect and hypnopomic hallucinations. I haven't hit my imposition obsession yet. Quote Do you have any other information you'd like to share? If so, what? I feel like the most important thing when mentoring is my mentee being happy and content with their experience. Cocreation is supposed to be fun. But when it isn't, I want to be there and help to the best of my ability. I understand that everyone has different learning needs. Not everyone likes huge textwalls, some people may just want stripped down information and to figure it out the rest on their own. On the other hand, some people like having lots of resources to read. Some people may need more time to process stuff, or just have me as a cheer leader as they go through their personal growth journey. And I'm aware not everyone can visualize or even have a mindvoice, some people struggle with attention, they have a busy schedule, or even doubts about the process at large. I want to focus on what teaching methods work best for them. If I suspect you will run into problems creating a cobud, I will point it out. While I believe anyone can create a cobud, sometimes now isn't the best time. But if you have to make any hard choices along the way, I can help walk you through the process. I believe it's during those times someone needs a mentor the most. I always felt that even big mistakes are fixable, but I feel confident enough that I can give the information needed to prevent a big mistake from happening in the first place. My old post mentioned cobuds achieving switching super early- I still don't recommend it, but I now know that a young cobud needs anchors to ground their sense of self. So even if a young cobud has their sense of self scrambled, they still have something to cling onto to get back on their feet. With mental health in particular, I highly recommend a safety net (such as a professional, drugs, family support, etc.) so they don't have any serious consequences. OrdoVsInfo September 23, 2021 September 23, 2021 Hi i was just wondering if there are any active mentors? Welcome to Σύστημα Κυψελών Αθηνών! within we contain, OrdoVsInfo (they/she), host. Tulip (she/her), Tulpa.
kovyxen February 23, 2022 February 23, 2022 Hello old friends! I'm applying to be a mentor now... :D Do you view tulpas as a psychological phenomenon, a metaphysical one, or both? Generally both. I find it easiest to explain as a psychological phenomenon, but I personally understand it as a metaphysical one. So my teaching of it could blend between them a bit. Were/was your tulpa(s) natural/pre-existing or were they intentionally created? Kovie, Vyx and Sanu were intentionally created. Axen and Leo came up in their own ways. How long have you had your tulpa(s)? How long have you been active in the community (Tulpa.info, /r/tulpas, Tulpa.io, etc.) I've had my tulpas for somewhere around 7 years, not entirely sure. I'm not the most active in forums, the email notifs do help remind me, but I'm pretty active in various plurality centered discord servers and run a couple myself. How many tulpas do you have? 5 How long did it take you to accomplish things (e.g. vocality, possession, imposition)? Not long really. Vocality, 2 weeks. Possession, a month or two. Imposition, a month maybe. That one isn't really a favorite of mine, simply prefer possession. Do you have any other information you'd like to share? If so, what? We're currently heavy into possession/fronting, and trying to include our tulpas into our lives more. We have a collective 'sona' known as Mage, which is what allows the main active trio to input as they wish. We're proficient with most skills related to functioning with a tulpa/headmate, and we also have plenty of experience with the whole of the plural community outside of just tulpamancy. Vocality - 10/10 Parallel Processing - 7/10 Visualization - 10/10 Visual Imposition - 7/10 Tactile Imposition - 4/10 Auditory Imposition - 6/10 Possession - 10/10 Switching - 8/10 "The number of minds in the universe is one." - Erwin Schrodinger Kovie, they or she. 7yo, mentally 19. active. Vyx, they or he. 7yo, mentally 17. active. Axen, they or he. age unknown, mentally 26. occasionally active. Sanu, any pronouns. 5yo, mentally ageless. mostly inactive. Leo, he/him. 6yo, mentally 21. inactive.
Pranara March 5 March 5 Anyone here experienced with getting Tulpas back from a near decade of dormancy? I am host, Salen Kunel is my headmate.

Null April 24 April 24 (edited) I've been looking for a mentor to guide me on the creation process. I've tried messaging the mentors listed at /r/tulpas, but never heard back from them. I would greatly appreciate someone's help if they have time to spare for me. Thank you. EDIT: Thank you for those who messaged me, I've found a mentor. Edited April 24 by Null
KayKay June 14 June 14 Do you view tulpas as a psychological phenomenon, a metaphysical one, or both? Purely psychological, but we're Christian, so we can also talk about how tulpas and faith fit together. Were/was your tulpa(s) natural/pre-existing or were they intentionally created? Alex and I started out as daydream characters. I was rebelling against our host's control well before we learned what tulpamancy was. We're familiar with various methods for creating tulpas, though. How long have you had your tulpa(s)? I'm older than this site. Alex is older than me. How long have you been active in the community (Tulpa.info, /r/tulpas, Tulpa.io, etc.)? As a system, we were part of the community from 2012 to 2018 and returned last year. We're active on here, reddit, and sometimes Discord. How many tulpas do you have? Me? None, lol. How long did it take you to accomplish things (e.g. vocality, possession, imposition)? Vocality: No idea. I wasn't created traditionally. Possession: I don't remember. It was a long time ago. I remember it coming fairly easily. Imposition: N/A. We attempted it briefly in 2012, and that was it. Do you have any other information you'd like to share? If so, what? We may not be a typical system or experts at advanced skills, but we've been through hell and back. We've been delusional and dysfunctional. I've been screwed over by host's intrusive thoughts and crawled back from nonexistence by myself. If the Sanely Insane Trio (that's us!) has anything to offer, it's the lessons we've learned from 14 years of hardship. Including personal experience with OCD, which it turns out is one of the "most likely to f*ck up your tulpa" disorders. We're also autistic. Besides that, please rate your own ability in each of the following skills from 0 to 10, 0 being incapable, and 10 meaning that you mastered the skill: Vocality: 10 Parallel Processing: see below Visualization: 8 Visual Imposition: N/A Tactile Imposition: N/A Auditory Imposition: N/A Possession: 9 Switching: see below Parallel processing and switching are so ill-defined I don't know how to put a number on them. Host has never left the body, so we aren't switching experts.
