Vos February 7, 2016 February 7, 2016 Are there any podcasts that you listen to? If so, what are they and why do you listen to them? Would you recommend any of them to the people here? How Did This Get Made? [hidden]It's a comedy podcast where actors get together to discuss their love for terrible films and why they're so bad. Each episode is about an hour long and they've gone over movies like The Room and Old Dogs. Fans of MST3K might like this one.[/hidden] Hello Internet [hidden]This is a podcast hosted by CGP Grey and Brady Haran, YouTubers who generally post educational videos. In this, they often talk about content creation, annoyances, and their mannerisms.[/hidden] Sleepycast [hidden]This is one that I've been listening to from the very start. It features a whole bunch of different animators, artists, and voice actors who talk about random things and periodically answer questions. A lot of what they talk about is NSFW, but they'll occasionally give suggestions about art and animation that I've found to be useful.[/hidden]
Luminesce February 7, 2016 February 7, 2016 I dunno, no, I don't listen to podcasts. But I guess there's like one single one I've listened to and found worth the time. http://www.stevepavlina.com/audio/ This guy's basically the definition of true "self-help" or whatever you want to call it. Really helped me develop strong and productive beliefs and mindset, although those were mostly from reading his articles.. But he's got some podcasts. Old ones and not updated anymore afaik, but they're there and they're good in my opinion. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
Sock February 7, 2016 February 7, 2016 A few of these I've already posted in other threads, but, I wanted to mention them here anyway. Jupiter Broadcasting Includes a set of running podcast series on the world of Linux (As well as BSD). I've found it pointed to some useful resources and some nice tips for a beginner like me. Chris Oatley's Podcasts I mentioned this in the art resources thread, and I feel it is solid enough to mention here as well. This Podcast if focused on the illustration industry, most notably concept art, and he often has some very nice guests on his shows. Favorite episodes: ArtCast #66: Are You Good Enough? Tough Truths For True Artists: With Will Terry ArtCast #72: Why Freelance Artists Fail ArtCast #73: Why Your Concept Art Portfolio Is Being Ignored Ludology "Welcome to Ludology. A Podcast about the 'why?', of gaming." This is a podcast related to tabletop game design specifically. The talk about the development of mechanics, theme, play testing, etc. These speakers have a very sober and serious vibe about the subject of game design, and it's pretty impressive. Favorite episodes: GameTek Classic #105: Mice and Men Hardcore Gaming 101 - Game Club 199X A video game podcast related usually to older, more obscure games. In their monthly podcast, they take a game for each month, play it blind and give their impressions on it. In First Strike, they tackle indie games, usually higher profile ones. There is also Post Mortem, and GC9X Home Video. Favorite episodes: GC9X #13: Wonder Project GC9X #23: Sweet Home First Strike #2: Freedom Planet First Strike #3: Five Nights at Freddy's BitJam Podcast Another one I've mentioned before, but I will mention it again here. This is a music podcast based around the demoscene. So there's lots and LOTS of electronic sound, but there's also a good deal of chill out, funk, jazz, etc. It's surprisingly varied. Favorite episodes: #123 - 4mat special #01 - The Beginning (I like the goofy singing of the second song, heh.) Peace. Sock Cottonwell's Sketchbook, Journal, and Ask thread. Peace
jean-luc February 7, 2016 February 7, 2016 Tulpaudcast The host brings on various guests every episode and asks them about their headmates and their experiences. Usually about 2 hours long (no favorite, they're all good) If you like Hello Internet, don't forget Cortex CGPGrey and Myke Hurley discuss how they work more efficiently, both being entrepenewers (I CANT SPELL). Can be very humorous at times. I highly reccomend it. Stats is back: https://stats.jean-luc.org/ My visits to tulpa.info are chaotic. Brassow February 7, 2016 February 7, 2016 Tulpaudcast The host brings on various guests every episode and asks them about their headmates and their experiences. Usually about 2 hours long (no favorite, they're all good) I thought you were better than that! Shameless self plugging is frowned upon! I don't go into threads and say "damn that Brassow art is really good!" However, the tulpaudcasts are still pretty good. If only we had more... Guest Anonymous February 8, 2016 February 8, 2016 What's wrong with shameless self plugging? Sheesh. Boy those Melian threads are always amazing!
Vos August 13, 2016 Author August 13, 2016 I came across Knifepoint Horror and I'm enjoying it so far. From the episodes I've listened to, it's just the story and that's it - no intros or breaks to sit through. More importantly, the stories and narrators aren't bad.
