Well anyways. First of all, no change in how we go about trying to lucid dream is permanent because we'll always default back to trying new (and old) things if something doesn't work.

Foreword aside, I'm going about this a little differently. Literally nothing has worked except Dream-Induced Lucid Dreams, aka realizing we're dreaming while dreaming. And that only happens when our dreams are vivid. And that only happens when we've either slept for 5+ hours (usually at least 9 for them to be naturally vivid) or done Wake Back To Bed, ie getting up in the middle of being super tired and going back to bed within a minute or two (for us - up to 15-20 min for some people, but we can't fall back asleep if we wait that long).

If that's the only thing that works, then I'm going to do it.

Dream recall is not helping. Painstakingly attempting to keep any sort of dream journal doesn't help at all and severely disrupts our sleep. Trying to remember dreams during the night seems to barely work at all, as I remember them fine right after having them but forget them entirely later in the day. However, the effort we've put into dream recall hasn't had much effect on the vividity of dreams we have the following nights. What does seems to be simply focusing on dreaming to begin with. This may be one of the factors as to why Lucilyn has more vivid dreams, and why our dream recall is specifically good when attempting some sort of lucid dreaming technique but not when we're just generally practicing dream recall. Which we've done an awful lot.

I spent a decent amount of time last night thinking about, well, wanting to lucid dream, before bed and my dreams were relatively vivid (and I forgot them later in the day anyway). Therefore I think simply thinking about dreaming is our best bet at actually lucid dreaming, for rather unintuitive reasons. I read an article the other day about typical lucid dreaming study stuff, and it mentioned the group that practiced reality checking randomly during the day had less lucid dreams than the other groups, so.. forget any of the during the day stuff. I'll just be focusing on dreams at night. My habit of reality checking as soon as anything remotely strange or unusual happens is the main way DILDs start, though.

Here's a song I've not listened to in a year or two, it's actually seven years old. Video's picture actually helped inspire Sylvia's form a bit lol. I think it's the only song with the genre "Dream" on our iTunes we've not linked before. Funny since I think it's the song that made me create said "Dream" genre in the first place.

Lumi's been doing a few WBTB's a night where he just gets up and turns the light on and stretches and then goes back to bed (light off), it hasn't really done much but he said "That's par for the course" and is gonna keep doin' it. He also said there's a difference between the casual WBTB he's doing (which might help sometimes or with dream recall overall) and the ones that led to lucid dreams, 'cus those were usually once it was daylight and he got up in the morning and went back to bed like 5-10 minutes later (which is a lot more than 2 minutes later), also obviously after like 8+ hours of sleep.

sooooo

I'll keep doing the casual ones and if I can I will try to.. OH! Oh oh, we can use WBTB's as a way to get up on time in the morning every day! xD

Like, we get up no matter how much we don't want to at 8AM, and then we can only sleep more if we can fall back asleep after actually getting up and.. idk, walking around in the light for a bit. So that way we never mess up our sleeping schedule in a way that hurts our lucid dreaming attempts! Cool sweet I just thought of that on the spot x3

this thread's useful like that

New Moon...

Went okay

I knew when it was the day before the new moon, could just tell. Accompanied by typical unrelated thinking about my life and what I want out of it, which for now is still just lucid dreaming and once I've got that, just to make sure as many people enjoy their lives as I can until I die. Today was fine I guess. I'm tired.

Man, ow, screw me. I GUESS I was tempting fate with this, because last night was like the worst night of sleep I've ever had at home. I got a few shots yesterday (tetanus and flu and all that), two of which were on the same arm, and really didn't hurt much at the time. But hay-soos-kristo when I tried to go to bed (at 2AM), it was not happening. I think by random chance I was dehydrated too, just didn't have any water on hand. I had a headache and an arm that was absolutely killing me "all night", which means from before 3AM when I finally fell asleep after being in considerable pain, up to 8:20AM when I woke up and just said screw it and got up. I felt pretty terrible but sleep was not helping. Couldn't even take ibuprofen because I hadn't eaten anything in a long time, would've just burnt a hole in my stomach. Not like I didn't wake up with heartburn anyways though.

Wasn't the most productive night for remembering dreams, which I think is what I need to be doing right now. WBTB is doing nothing since I'm remembering nothing really either way. But last night was all about trying to find positions where I could fall back asleep. But anyways, yeah,

That's amazing, you can just sense the phases of the moon like that? I know that's a very important moon to you but still.

How couldn't I when new moons always go like this? But realistically, I can just tell when enough time has passed. I tend to be spot on guessing when it's time for a full moon without even having seen it in a month. I'm usually cued in on new moons by the same sense of time plus feeling like crap. That's fairly consistent, too. Preferably new moons are days for reflection and general thinking about my life and what I'm doing, but sometimes they're just bad days.

I had another lucid dream! WHY DO I LUCID DREAM SO EASILY LOL

literally yesterday after Tewi switched with me so I could play a game with some friends for a few hours, I thought if I should switch back with someone and thought "Well if Lumi really wants to learn to lucid dream and I have lucid dreams more easily, why shouldn't I just be the one who goes to sleep most of the time? No offense..."

WELL

guess that's just how it is

[video=youtube]

So pretty...

So the dream started as a normal dream like, hmm, 7 or so hours into sleep? All I'd done before at like 5 hours was get up to go to the bathroom but I didn't even mean to do WBTB. well, so it was a normal dream but sorta vivid, was in a car going from some place to another place on a normal length drive, when we got there (some house I've never seen) I had my hands full of food and I saw someone brought (bought?) more and was like, well you shouldn't have bought all this so am I just dreaming or what? Andddd I was!

So I guess as almost always the one in the dream was Lumi, 'cus the first thing "I" did was try to see either myself or Flandre around a corner (which didn't work ofc), and I imagine if I'd known I was me I woulda tried to see Lumi first. Well anyways that didn't work and I was like WELL gotta keep the dream stable, so I walked into the kitchen place from the living room and just started touching all the cooking stuff and silverware 'cus they had a lot of textures like the uh, big plastic spaghetti bowl with holes. after I did that I guess I felt I was grounded enough to try to practice dream control (protocol never once entered my brain, I think because there's this fear we're always going to wake up soon which I WASN'T apparently so we try to make the most of the time we have), so I walked back to the really big living room and was like, guess I could try flying?

So I just like looked up and was like, fly..! Yeah didn't expect that to work. Well what if I just imagine myself weightless? Oh, imagine myself in zero gravity, yes! And I was able to make the dream do that, so I just kinda pushed myself around from point to point, I don't really remember the dream well from here because OBVIOUSLY I was losing focus. but I remember thinking as I did flips midair that feeling off-balance often wakes you up from dreams, but thought it was nice that I wasn't feeling off balance at all despite.. literally doing flips in zero gravity lol

But then the dream started getting all fade-y like we were waking up! None'a that light nonsense, it just actually lost quality and I just thought I was waking up, no fair! I literally didn't even think to reality check after a lucid dream like we're supposed to because it was such a different kind'a false awakening we haven't had before.

Then the weird part though, I'm pretty sure the dream went on for like THREE TIMES the length of the whole dream up to that point, including the non-lucid stuff! Like maybe I woke up and fell back asleep really quick at some point, but it felt like the dream was just majorly long. I almost didn't remember I even had one when I woke up, because it was so far BACK! We said it was a myth a long time ago that you could lucid dream and not remember, but apparently it's possible! not 'cus you just forget upon waking (I still don't know if that happens to lucid dreams..), but because if you lose lucidity the dream could go on for so long after you just forget that way lol

so anyways WHY DO I HAVE LUCID DREAMS SO EASILY?? I didn't think about lucid dreaming at all yesterday! I literally just had the thought that I should be the one to sleep 'cus I lucid dream easier and immediately went on thinking about other stuff, and I didn't even think about doing WBTB when I got up, so weeeirrrrd! and obviously it's been like a lot of nights of sleeping since I've had a lucid dream but still compared to Lumi it's "super easily" still, so, yeah! Why?? I wanna know so I can tell him what to do... but I think I'm just getting lucky...

Wow, that's like your 5th one. I've legitimately been trying WBTB and it hasn't worked yet. Then again my dream recall has been inconsistent, so that may be a part of it. Anyway I'm glad it's working for you, though it seems you too have more to work on in that department. Oh well, keep it up and don't forget to have fun with it.

Yo, my name is Sean and I'm the host of 2 tulpas: Sente and Mae. You'll know when they're talking because Sente talks in yellow text and Mae talks in blue text.

I mean, we've done WBTB plenty on purpose, and it's never worked... Our only lucid dreams were from "accidental WBTB"s where we got up and went back to sleep, y'know?

I think seeing real sunlight might've made the difference for me, maybe just our room's light doesn't trigger the same response from our body as the bit of sunlight we saw?

It struck me as interesting that your lucid dream didn't let you do anything you wanted. I had a regular REM induced one last night (my tulpas aren't in them usually), and what i did, also what i do must often, is teleport out of wherever i am to someplace nice, or flpoat around (not flying, hovering, it's very fun) Usually, instead of not being able to do anything i want, i get distracted and satisfied with the things you describe, explore rooms touch things, etc, and of course, hover about.

Whenever i teleport in a dream, lucid or not, i find it dissapointing that i can't do that in real life, it seems pretty easy.

eheh.. you're good at saying the wrong things to us, y'know? but it's obvious it's totally on accident, so we'll never hold it against you, it's just funny. so, lack of dream control is incredibly common and almost-the-majority of people struggle with making their dreams do what they want when they become lucid. teeeechnicallyyyyyy the majority just go fly or something immediately and then completely get distracted and ruin the lucid dream, lol. but yeah I mean.. we should be good at dream control, but it's belief based, and.. we're so good at knowing how reality works it makes it hard to make it work differently! that's why I had to give the logic that I was in zero gravity to get off the ground at all, as opposed to just flying, y'know? and more importantly.. it's what stops us (mostly Lumi so far) from summoning the others in lucid dreams, whiiiiich is all he wants to do, sooo yeah. you probably see why I said that now

can't be annoyed at you casually mentioning lucid dreaming last night right after since technically I had a lucid dream last night too, lol, but normally "Oh you can't do that? I just had a lucid dream and everything worked great" would be in consideration for annoying us if it weren't.. in my case, literally funny how accidentally that it was. like I gave a "Really..." face and then laughed at how perfect it was

I'm tired and probably didn't need to respond to that at all tbhl0l, but it's the second time it's happened so I figured I'd say somethin
