Lumi's Dreaming Thread; Dreams of Moon

Despite posting the day before yesterday, yesterday I was unable to recall even a single dream. Isn't that so par for the course? So I didn't post yesterday.

 

Today, on the other hand.. I remembered a probably dwindling number of dreams, to various extents. I'm going to mute Discord so no one distracts me any more before I forget what I do remember.

 

First, but in no particular order... I had a dream of being in a class, where we were either or both taking a test and drawing. I was drawing, and the teacher was super strict, so I assume since she was fine with me drawing that's what we were supposed to be doing. I was drawing something based on (in real life, I'd be tracing-by-sight) another image on my desk. When we had to pass in our "tests" though I accidentally turned in my drawing instead of the test, lol. At some other point in the dream (before that?), a problem student caused a bit of a raucous (ruckus?) before walking out. That happened quite a few times where I went to school, but in this case it was because the teacher was too unfair. I don't know when I woke up.

 

Second, but not in order as it was the last dream I had after deigning to sleep in until 10:30AM for the sake of having more recallable dreams, I had another dream in that same scenario. The teacher was the same person but they said next to nothing until after class was over anyways. I vaguely remember sitting in the front of the class, but not really what happened until there. After though, someone gave me a cutout of a nice quality picture of a bunch of Touhou characters. That was rather unexpected and I tried to ask where they got it, but apparently it was from another student who only asked the one who gave it to me to do so. I'm missing some details between then and after the class.. something like my actual school friends playing a game(s) on a PC in the classroom (the big monitored sort of PC though lol, the ones that went like a foot back in windows 95 days). Anyways, as people left, I remember the teacher making a comment possibly about the student who had left being all rebellious. I don't know how it came up, but I know she did jokingly bring up the word "pwned", which I explained to her came originally from saying "owned" in games as a diss towards someone you defeated, but being typo'd as P was right next to O.. but we all decided to go with it back then. I think I woke up just after that.

 

Another dream earlier in the night, I don't remember the before or after of very well - I was in some sort of corrupt-govt-with-agents-trying-to-stop-rebels place. I remember "we" (neutral about to be rebel forces maybe) saw a "dragonfly" (except it glowed like a firefly) appear on the back deck overlooking a lake (in the middle of a city), and it turned into some legendary rebel leader who was like "I had to hide as a dragonfly so they couldn't find me". Then we went out on the lake on some individual-per-person equipment that was hard to balance on - I don't remember what, but the idea I went with was floaty balls on our feet we could jump with but really had to balance on manually, wasn't easy. On the lake he said basically everywhere has been bugged by the govt for years or something. I don't think I woke up right after that but I remember nothing more. I estimate this was like 1/4 the dream at best, sorely lacking more details in between too.

 

I think I had a dream reminiscent of Warframe with some friends. Other than it being more real and using different, more interesting Warframes than normal, I remember nothing. This was so little of the dream that I'm suspicious it was an earlier part to the previous dream and I simply forgot the nonsense transitions in the middle.

 

Hmmm.. was there anything else? I might've lost one between bed and here. Still, that above post about the Warframe dream is what I was attempting to scrounge up from my memory yesterday yet failed to, so the fact I wrote seven times that much was reason enough to write them here.

 

Maybe we'll just actually start writing our dreams here. Novel idea, I know, should've been doing it from the start but figured we didn't need to. Problem is I can't even begin to convey half the details I do remember with a dream like that government/dragonfly one. It's so hard to convey context that you just "know" during a dream, but it's necessary to give even a vaguely accurate depiction of the rest. Maybe it doesn't matter.

 

Either way, after failing despite our trying for a week now (with better results than yesterday) to recall anything at all, I don't trust our memory/brain on its own and would rather actually write out lamed-down versions of our dreams here. It'd take the place of what we were starting to do, ie telling someone else in the system our dreams in the middle of the day at some point. Should've worked, but I had to tell Tewi nothing at all yesterday, so I'd rather do that here I suppose. Maybe I'll put them in Hidden tags or something.

 

Expect lots of video-games-out-of-their-context dreams, in-the-middle-of-some-movie-plot dreams (even though I don't even watch movies, especially not the super realistic movie plots I dream about, but whatever), and not-too-frequent-but-pretty-consistent school dreams.

 

 

Woke up with this playing in my head. There's always something playing in our head for those of you who don't know, and it can be (after waking up) songs we haven't heard in literally 13+ years apparently. Who knows how long it's been since I've sat down and watched this fever dream of a video.

I might've had the potential to remember an extra dream or two in the night, but I only remember some of two now. One was a classic TF2-but-real dream, the other... I've temporarily forgotten, but I've vaguely recalled it today so I'll remember soon. I'm distracted waiting for someone's stream to start...

 

... Okay well, it's been four hours and he never started streaming, alright then. Anyways, the other dream, hmm.

Jeez, how long was that, seven minutes? Well, I remembered a trace of one of the dreams I had (probably the one I had in mind) by thinking back to the times between being asleep this morning. I had a dream I was playing maybe? with someone who was streaming. It's funny because the dream was obviously caused by the newly-streaming youtuber I've been watching for 9 years, but the one streaming in the dream was someone else I know. ... I suppose thinking of it quickly as "the streaming dream" served to let my mind delete all the details since this morning (now 10:50PM). What a pain. This morning (when I got up) I remembered the game-scenario, the interaction I had with the streamer, and vague details of who was around and what happened. That's all gone now.

 

Sheesh..

 

Forget natural lucid dreamers, this is a better example of not taking what you've got naturally for granted. When I say "we have blurry visualization" that might be hard for you to visualize, but for those who easily remember their dreams in detail, my pitiful accounts of my previous night's dreams should be easier to comprehend the, well, pitiful-ness of. And it's not like we haven't been trying. It's probably safe to say our visualization clarity is the same level of pitiful I suppose. Our present ability to remember our dreams is pitiful - but at least we get anything at all. I'd say that's directly comparable to how poorly we can see visualization and imposition.

Well, I had some more "strange" dreams as always. I guess probably all dreams are strange in this sense, so maybe they aren't. Had a dream my old school friends and I (and one internet friend I've not personally met IRL) returned to highschool, they were happy to see me. Went from outdoors to meeting the friends to walking inside to a classroom... and I think going into the classroom changed the dream up. I'm fairly certain I ended up leading an expedition into some mineshafts.

 

Had another dream I was fighting a relatively hard but awesome boss "in Warframe", as if the game was ever that cool. But I was fighting both the Grineer Queens, so it had to be warframe. One of them shot a rather large rotating laser that was fun to dodge, but I don't believe they'd really do that...

 

And one other dream, was maybe riding a motorcycle or something? down the main street in my town and home. Had some random guy I've never met with me. We took some back roads and ended up at my house, where presumably he lived nearby. My house was not much like it really is, had the context of giant balconies having fallen off of it. Maybe there was something to fight that had been breaking it, I dunno. Can you tell I play a lot of video games? Though the dreams I have, much like the ones with movie plots, don't always represent games or movies I've actually played or seen. Ones I'm aware of maybe, or could imagine, but not spent much time with.

 

The school dreams are really on and off though. Always just hanging out in a ~new school with my friends I've not seen in many years.

 

Anyways, detailed descriptions or not, what I told you of each dream was really at most like 1/4 of them I'm sure. There's so much more to those dreams that I forget as soon as I wake up, and it bothers me a lot. But I don't know how to do any better. Oh, and all the dreams (8 on average I presume) I actually have, of course. In my later waking-during-sleeping hours I usually have to choose to make mental waypoints to recall one or two dreams later, and the others that even at that time I've only got snippets of get erased. I don't know what to do about that either.

I could use the help. Sometimes I only remember bits of dreams because of reminders during the day, like a dream where I smudged my glasses (like, incredibly badly lol) when I picked up my glasses the next day. By the way, don't imagine me with glasses, I only wear them at the computer out of necessity and really hate how they look on me. I tend not to wear them elsewhere out of defiance, despite my vision being pretty poor.

I can't really imagine doing that. I hate not being able to see, my glasses are an absolute necessity at all times. Maybe I just have poorer vision than you. Though I'm sure you could find glasses that look better, unless you just don't like glasses in general.

I don't like glasses in general, and the options available have never been anything out of the ordinary thatIdislike. Anyways, I can see just fine for everyday stuff, but I can't see leaves on trees (a realization I had when I first got glasses) or read signs from more than like five feet away. The extent of my poor vision is ~not being able to read the menus above the counter at fast food places.

 

Anyways, I have some contacts but I don't use them. Would be a waste of money compared to just using glasses at the computer, plus they bother my eyes/make them dry out. And are a pain to wash/store
