just more sorta-vivid dreams (much better than nothing), but dream recall is still bad and really hard to improve, I'm gonna keep trying for a long while though because we KNOW Wake Back To Bed works to some extent at least sometimes, and that's a heck of a lot more often than anything else we do! (Even the REM-Dreamer, though we'll use that again some time, preferably when vivid dreams are more common)

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal!

Wake back to bed never works for me, I just can't do it! >:(

I swear all those LDs that happened were all flukes for us, don't waste your time. We get like at least one fluke never-gona-happen-again WBTB lucid dream every month, it's so frustrating. Grrrrrr.

be careful what reality-warping you intend to invoke.. I wouldn't wish the loss of lucid dreaming upon anyone (but hey we appreciate if you're willing to donate those LDs to us!)

just some more dreams, another one was kinda vivid (but I forgot about it until minutes after waking up)

our dream recall still sucks.. otherwise, I just can't tell how WBTB affects the vividity of our dreams, like it seems to be causing vivid dreams? but not necessarily right after falling back asleep maybe? hard to tell when we don't remember all of them.. (but we still get pretty accurate "feelings" of how our dreams went)

  • 4 weeks later...
Simon says good luck with the lucid dreaming. Remember: if you don't say "Simon says", it doesn't count.

Oh man, is that what I was missing all these years? BRB testing

I woke up at 8AM thinking about posting, "If any of you had a lucid dream last night, this is probably the first time I've ever lost at Simon Says.."

... But then I went back to sleep for 2 more hours and actually did have a lucid dream. It's almost worrying how little I'm caring about doing anything while lucid in the last couple Dream Induced Lucid Dreams I've had. The last one (a week or two ago? don't remember) felt like it was about to end so I didn't do much, and then it did. This one though, I dunno, I was just kind of looking at how weird everything was. First off, the dream was getting rather chaotic in a shifting/destabilizing reality sort of way. Visuals were getting unrealistic despite it being a vivid dream. By the time I became lucid (I don't really remember how, it sometimes just happens when dreams are vivid) I was sitting in the back (like the bed) of a truck and watching the sky and other things while it drove away. Sky and clouds turned kind of pixely while looking like the distorted orange Twilight areas in Twilight Princess. With my lack of urgency, I really did just focus on looking at visuals with slight attention paid to staying lucid (never enough of course) instead of, you know, typical worrying about doing something stuff. I wasn't that lucid though, and the dream transitioned to something else for "a minute or two" dream time and I was not lucid again, then I woke up. Not a terrible amount of time missed, but still worrying that my lack of sense of urgency (at least to stay lucid) might've stopped me from having a longer lucid experience there.

Well anyways, so far the Simon Says-Induced Lucid Dream seems like the most successful method of lucid dream induction.

Edit: Forgot to fit in there somewhere that I actually did intend to stop worrying about seeing my tulpas/etc. during lucid dreams and focus more on just being lucid as long as I could instead, even if I just looked around at stuff. My post was meant to say "It feels like I somehow went way in the opposite direction and care almost too little upon realizing I'm lucid now, but it still was the direction I meant to take, so I've mixed feelings on this".

Mixed feelings > zero feelings? I guess? Unless you didn't mean to reference me saying mixed there and meant having "mixed" lucid dreams was better than none. Yes. Or if you meant Mixed > Bad, also yes, I guess? I did want to stop being so panicky upon realizing I was lucid, but I've immediately (based on no lucid dreams for a while and then two within a couple weeks) switched to seemingly not caring at all, which is really more dangerous if anything. My aim was obviously a middle-ground - "Oh, I'm dreaming! Alright, I just need to stay focused. Maybe let the dream play out, just remembering to stay lucid."

Instead (apparently) what I got was "Oh, I'm lucid, nice. I'll just look around at things. Wow, stuff is pretty vivid. zzzz", but I'm hoping I can ease into the middle.

Lumi, what does it mean if you have dreams where you know you're dreaming, and ask dream characters if you're lucid, and everyone tells you "no"? A big part of my dream was being jealous that someone else in my dream was having a lucid dream, while I wasn't lucid. I was literally thinking, "Oh, crap, well, this sucks. I'm dreaming right now but I'm not lucid." ...How do I course-correct? - Jamie
