Knapp August 10, 2012 August 10, 2012 I've heard of tulpae curing PTSD among other things, but can a tulpa help cure or cure a phobia completely? Name: Philip Age: (7 June, 2012) Form: Male teenage human, light brown hair, green eyes, jeans & hoodie Name: Amalia Age: (15 Dec, 2012) Form: Female teenage fairy, black hair, blue eyes, white dress
TulpaCouple August 10, 2012 August 10, 2012 Yes. You yourself can cure a phobia completely if you wanted to. Imagine having someone there to help you jump through the mental hurdles.
QB2 August 11, 2012 August 11, 2012 Can they, in general? Yes. Will they, and will they be able to for you? It very much depends. The above post does not contain facts. q2's the host, QB's the tulpa.
glitchthe3rd August 11, 2012 August 11, 2012 Mine's helping me get over my fear of BEEEEEES, so yes, they can help if they want to. "Science isn't about why, science is about why not?" -Cave Johnson Tulpae: Luna, Elise, Naomi My progress report
Kadoh August 11, 2012 August 11, 2012 fear of the scroll saw ;_; shit breaks all the time meng My opinions are all subject to change.
Splooshie123 August 11, 2012 August 11, 2012 If it turns out your tulpa has the same phobia, you're screwed. Or maybe not. When I play a horror game alone, I quit in the first 10 minutes. When I've got someone with me watching, I don't get scared as much (except jump scares. those still work)
cruse August 11, 2012 August 11, 2012 I'm not exactly sure of phobias but Chloe definitely helped me pull through when I got my wisdom teeth removed. She helped me "get started" in dealing against fear. Though it's actually me who did the rest of the job, I'd never make it without a scar on my mind without her. Chloe - That cheerful girl with ponytail. Aigis - The male cyborg that looks like raiden in MGR. Vixen - Half dragon female who looks like Mary in DMC3 when in human form.
ValiantSwordfish May 15, 2013 May 15, 2013 It's pretty obvious that a tulpa can aid a host in treatment for a phobia, as a friend and support, but I'm not so sure that it's a process of a tulpa just reworking the subconscious. There is a lot of learned association for phobia triggers that needs to be unlearned, which is why exposure therapy is so valuable/vital. Tulpas are extremely helpful (at least in my experience) in visualized exposure therapy and in aiding a host with a phobia use thought-stopping and other coping techniques to prevent a panic attack. Once a panic attack has begun, a tulpa can aid the host in appropriate coping mechanisms and "riding out" the attack, but expecting or instructing one's tulpa to stop the sensation or mechanics of the attack only makes things worse. Phobias take time and perseverance to tackle, and tulpas can be incredibly helpful, but by aiding in therapy and coping, rather than by making the phobia simply cease to exist.
Lacquer May 15, 2013 May 15, 2013 This would be very, very beneficial to me. How would one go about doing this?
