ooo fail. I bet 5 cents that the teacher would then blame a student for being a "trouble maker".

If no one loses, then no one wins, no elated, and no vanquished. If this is the new order of things, in that case, winning is perhaps not the goal we should be striving for.

Can't everyone lose? I think it's usually pretty hard for everyone to win. But it's pretty easy to think of situations where everyone loses. -J

Yes, we should all strive for failure, I mean, the wirst kind, that way if anything better comes as a result, elation comes with it.

Even last place is coveted as perfect loss.

I got last place in the timed mile, every year, until I finally got my 504 plan properly enforced and I didn't have to do it anymore. It was three laps around the field. Everyone else was done and I had over half a lap, i.e., the rest of the class was watching me run/limp horribly from all the way on the far side of the field. I don't know who started it, but they started CLAPPING. And then it kinda died down, because, I ain't teleporting over, and they weren't going to clap for the next ten minutes. So, all the fast boy runners RAN to me, and ran the second half of the lap behind me. They kept overtaking me and then they'd just kinda... stop and speed-walk a little, so that they were behind me again. When we came to the finish, everyone started clapping again. Someone patted my back and said, "Good job." I looked up and the kids were all like... "do we have to keep clapping?" I started crying. They clapped harder.

The teacher planned to spend the last part of class having free time, but guess what, they had all waited for me, so, no free time. The pity and sympathy stopped there and kids were pissed at me. They liked being good to the weak kid when it was either that, or standing around, but when I got in the way of 15 minutes of kickball? Well, we were all only like ten.

Another year, they just straight-up forget me and I got locked out of the building. I walked around to the front and after they let me in and I walked back to gym, the teacher yelled at me. She thought I had been hiding. No, I was on the far side of the field... when the rest of the class was done, and she asked if everyone was there, and the kids said, "yes." So they just went inside and started playing with hula hoops and stuff.

The PACER, too. Oh, goodness, the PACER. I always got yelled at for that. I don't know if anyone here but maybe Bre has done the PACER, but I was always the first person out. Last place isn't bad, but it sucks when you get yelled at because you did so bad, everyone thinks you just weren't taking it seriously and didn't try at all, because clearly, if you tried even a little bit, you wouldn't have been so bad. -J

I'm sorry Jamie, that sounds terrible.

I think I took the PACER. Isn't that the stupid thing where the kids have to run back and forth over and over again and then it's like 25 BEEP with crappy music playing?

That brings back memories. I was just super fat and couldn't run because I sat all day. The only exercise I got was my mandatory dog walking, and I got paid to dog walk for a neighbor, but I would find a good shady spot and just sit with them.

I bet the doggo enjoyed the shade with you.
