eddi August 24, 2019 Share August 24, 2019 [Eddi] Clare has got an idea in her head that I disapprove of, she wants there to be a "tulpa pride" movement, that has a flag and goes on pride marches etc. However, as a host I do not want the world to know I share my brain with a Tulpa. And I doubt other people who have Tulpas would too. I've vetoed the idea of us ever going on or organising a Tulpa pride march. For the time being, at least. I think she understands. But she still disagrees. [Clare] We must fight such stigma, not hide from it! [Eddi] We've designed a pride flag though, which I thought we could share. And see what other Tulpas think of it. I'll let Clare herself explain it. [Clare in green] The big circle represents the host's being And the little circles represent the psyche of some tulpas who inhabit the host - but who are beings in their own right! It is a depiction of a system! (We haven't decided on the colour though, it's just a rough version, the colours could be totally different) I'd like to hear from other Tulpas about whether or not they like the idea of a flag! [Eddi] As you can see, she thinks she's human and is behaving like one
Tewi August 24, 2019 Share August 24, 2019 The thing about "Tulpa pride" when it's brought up is that things like this have to become known first before they can become widely accepted. You'd need to tell people about the phenomenon first well before you could start saying "and I'm PROUD of this!". Skipping the middle step will not work and will get you pegged as crazy. Other "pride" movements had a good amount of time of people knowing about the thing in question before "pride movements" started. Best to take it slow. It's very easy to get yourself considered crazy if you don't, at which point you've kind of ruined the chances of said person/people respecting the phenomenon. Hi, I'm Tewi, one of Luminesce's tulpas. I often switch to take care of things for the others. All I want is a simple, peaceful life. With my family. jean-luc August 24, 2019 Share August 24, 2019 Okay the idea is growing on me. It shouldn't be a white background, that's understood to mean surrender (although japan gets away with it so what do I know), but otherwise this follows all the guidelines for good flag design. For colors, I think it'd be cool to have multiple colors inside the "brain", and just grey outside. I'll draw a mock-up tomorrow. Breloomancer August 24, 2019 Share August 24, 2019 I don't like the idea of the host being the encapsulating bubble, that isn't how the system dynamics work for a lot of people. the & symbol is a well known symbol in the greater plural community, so we might want to incorporate that somehow. I like the idea of a circle meant to represent the body or outside life, being split up into many smaller sections, meant to represent the system as a whole. like this: https://i.imgur.com/hsYLy9r.png[/img] I have a tulpa named Miela who I love very much. Jamie August 24, 2019 Share August 24, 2019 There are two I've seen: the ampersand (which I prefer for its ambiguity) and 4 overlapping circles. The circle one comes with a flag but no one uses it because it's crap, the colors are awful and the meanings wayyy too specific. I think the best thing to do would be to stick the 4 circles on a color background... idk what colors. Maybe for love, acceptance, and community. 3s are good. I'm on mobile but here are links: circles: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT9JiwYsM5phfM4sMRuJwbxGCD86plCciahc8EzPd1GUs-tJMyNGg circles with color, the colors mean something I think but idk: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTbdrQK6o0OmN5nV_0RdunKKTol7AxODipm6Y0IDuxmPNDvVsE_wg flag with circles and awful colors: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQsPXF457MpknOMxEE8bR8SWgNZm1H13fYprRwgVa0G1v6Yi4n_cg someone's recolor that idk what means: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRZnVVLDaNDnLpZ1Y5Qy7R7ewd2oodj3V_R-zaCqj0Ej47GHOLvdg ampersand and colors- if I had to fly any, it'd be this one: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTIOxrHq6YBGV2x4iK5lisv2Wfg9611U8YVfhJB2LsLps9taO_Fbg I know none of those are tulpa-specific. But I think an easy recolor + one of those symbols could do the trick. I really don't like the "big circle is host, small circle inside is tulpa" thing. -J edit: fixed my atrocities of links The world is far, the world is wide; the man needs someone by his side. Ember.Vesper August 24, 2019 Share August 24, 2019 Tulpamancers are such a small portion of even non-traumagenic plurals that I don't think it is good to strike out on your own. From a singleton perspective, we're all similar enough that an improvement in perception of one type improves perception of all of us. There is already a Plural Pride Movement: https://www.kinhost.org/Movement/PluralPrideMovement Probably more than one: https://pluralevents.org/Events/PluralPride https://www.facebook.com/pluralactivism/ And that's not even counting the tulpa-excluding System Pride Day announced by the Entropy System independently of the broader community. Plurals been talking about a flag for a while and there are many variations. I like the big ampersand, probably with a very plain coloration as opposed to the various swirl and patchwork designs. But I like the interlocked rings even better. The nicest version of that I've seen is in the Facebook link above. Given all the disagreement over colors, I'm inclined to go with the approach used by the BDSM triskelion -- the shape is a widely accepted symbol of the community, but there is no official color scheme; everyone is free to color it as they wish. But raising awareness starts at home. We've come out a soulbonding system to almost everyone I spend time with regularly and definitely to everyone with whom I would otherwise share any part of my personal life. Everyone has taken it well. Having been openly a member of various stigmatized and formerly secretive communities -- gay, trans, BDSM -- I'm always surprised at how closeted tulpamancers still are. As previously mentioned, any outer ring should represent the body/brain and not the host. Hosts are just older residents of the mind, not fundamentally different types of being. -Ember I'm not having fun here anymore, so we've decided to take a bit of a break, starting February 27, 2020. - Ember Ember - Soulbonder, Female, 39 years old, from Georgia, USA . . . . eddi August 24, 2019 Author Share August 24, 2019 Some people have issues with the design we presented to go in the centre of a "Tulpa pride" flag We've come up with an alternative, which is partly inspired by the graphic Breloomancer posted It's supposed to be a circle, BTW, which represents being, but there are two distinct parts of the being, a quarter of the circle kind of sticks out of the rest of the circle It's supposed to illustrate the relationship between Tulpa (the sticking out quarter) and Host (the rest of the circle) Is this more acceptable to people? Edit: we have no idea what colours to use for it, we are not suggesting it be red, it's the shape we're on about!

Jamie August 24, 2019 Share August 24, 2019 I'm with Bre. It's not that tulpas exist inside the brain/host, or that tulpas are 1/4 the brain and 3/4ths is the host. And some systems have no host, or the host IS a tulpa! If you want to use a symbol other than the 4 circles or the &, use the fancy T that is in the .info logo. All headmates, imo, are fundamentally the same thing, just different "base stats." -J The world is far, the world is wide; the man needs someone by his side.
