Guest Anonymous August 28, 2012 August 28, 2012 So we all know about puppeting, and how many (aside from Freddy Lasso) regard it as bad. But what about ragdolling? Ragdolling is a vidya game term for when a character goes entirely limp, as if they've blacked out. So is dragging your tulpa dragging your tulpa around the wonderland (or whatever you use) and moving it's hands with yours as bad ass puppeting?
Sands August 28, 2012 August 28, 2012 It's not like puppeting is some OMG NO DON'T DO IT thing anymore, though many choose to not use it. Helping your unmoving tupper to sit or such isn't bad and I've done it when I've wanted us to sit down when I talked to him, though make sure not to overdo it so your mind starts believing they are in fact a doll who can't move or something like that. NED August 28, 2012 August 28, 2012 ragdolling sounds fun. I must try it Name - Silver Form - Harpy Sentience - fully sentient Personality - Playful, cheerful, enthusiastic, chilled Smell - Baileys Stage - Narration and imposition
Kiahdaj August 28, 2012 August 28, 2012 I agree with Sands. Also, I don't really think ragdolling would be very bad. I just hardly see the use in it. I think the worst that could come from it is accidentally implying that your tupper would be unconscious all the time. "If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."
Charles August 28, 2012 August 28, 2012 More pointless than bad, I would think. I mostly stuck to carrying Mary when she couldn't move freely.
Frosty August 28, 2012 August 28, 2012 I actually ended up doing that this morning while visualizing. Basically, she was moving with me (dancing, if you must know) but I noticed we were pretty much in synch. So I did the thing with the scissors and cut imaginary lines connecting us, and she pretty much collapsed and stayed there. Ever since I gave her a body and a face (still working on the face) I've kinda been picturing her as less sentient and more of a vegetable (a bit of an exaggeration but there you go). I think it's because it was easier to think of her as sentient as a white orb or whatever, since white orbs don't have facial expressions to begin with, so if she doesn't show any expression or facial response, it was whatever. Now she has a face but still doesn't show any facial expressions, so it kind just seems like she's comatose or something. Sorry to sort of jack the thread, but anyone got any advice on this? Also, if anyone made a form for their tulpa before sentience, how did you picture them? Just kinda...lifeless? Captain Nemo August 29, 2012 August 29, 2012 The main issue with puppeting is that most are unsure if their tulpa is moving by itself or if it's them puppeting it. Some have used it with positive results, and some with negative results. Some tulpa say they hate when they were puppeted (it was in the survey thread, but I don't remember which one it was). It really depends on the tulpa and host.
Chupi August 29, 2012 August 29, 2012 Ragdolling is FAR worse than puppeting. A little puppeting won't hurt, and if anything will make you think of your tulpa as alive. Ragdolling will make you think of her as a doll. I did this for quite some time in an attempt to avoid puppeting, and my tulpa didn't like it. She kicked me out of the wonderland and ran away. Carrying your tupper everywhere is such a big no-no, as would be guiding all of their actions... Malix August 29, 2012 August 29, 2012 If you need them to move, ask them to move. If they can't/don't, then move them. But give them some time to try it on their own each time.
