Guest Anonymous November 5, 2012 November 5, 2012 I don't see that many tulpas with last names around here, I've think I've only seen one. I think it might because it implies that the tulpa belongs to a family and that's often a bad thing from what I've seen any other thoughts on the matter?
QB2 November 5, 2012 November 5, 2012 I would just assume your tulpa has your last name or none at all. Or maybe if you have multiple tulpas, they could all share one. The above post does not contain facts. q2's the host, QB's the tulpa.
fennecfoxx November 5, 2012 November 5, 2012 Kayleigh and Alex have last names because I chose to give them last names when I created them. They have middle names, too. Deluded myself into believing my imaginary friends were real, then deluded myself into thinking they weren’t. Whatever the case, the OG gang’s still here: Host: fennec (they/them) Tulpas: Alex (he/him) and Kayleigh (she/her) Delete all memories of those who know my awkward past
glitchthe3rd November 5, 2012 November 5, 2012 Saria's full name is The Honorable Lady Saria Kementari, because reasons. Luna's last name is technically Moonflower, but we both seem to have forgotten she had a last name in the first place. Pinkamena November 5, 2012 November 5, 2012 I try to keep it one name. For one thing it helps seperate my Vinyl from being vinyl scratch. I did use pinkamena's full cannon name once or twice when I wasn't thinking. An old, old tupa of mine did have a last name. But thats when I thought every tulpa needed a unique name and symbol.
Oguigi November 5, 2012 November 5, 2012 Me and koomer both have last names, it's the same, and it's the last name of the physical body. pix: Link Diary: http://ponystasha.tumblr.com Koomer.
TulpaCouple November 5, 2012 November 5, 2012 Jaden doesn't have a last name. There is no real reason to, in his opinion, as there is no real need for one for identification purposes. He is Jaden and that's all we need to know. He isn't carrying on a family name or anything like that. If he were to add on to his name it would be a middle name(out of respect to someone? I don't know) rather than a last name. If he had to say his last name it would be my last name, though he feels no familial bonds to my family and doesn't feel he carries on their name.
Semi-Nomadic November 5, 2012 November 5, 2012 My tulpae don't have last names because I honestly dislike our human tradition of (generic first name)+(last name shared with a bunch of people you don't necessarily know or like) and I sometimes wish we lived in a society where anyone could have any sort of name they wish.
CyberD November 5, 2012 November 5, 2012 Does this at all compare to naming pets? When we named our dog we never considered him having a last name. Later the vet gave him our last name which sounded rather odd. I expect that a lot of people name their tulpa without ever considering a last name. I decided against giving Nova a last name when I created him, he has no use for one. If I had given him my last name then it'd feel like we were related somehow, but since "tulpa" isn't a commonly recognized type of relative it felt more appropriate just to leave it as a blank. Giving the tulpa a different last name to your own might work to help you distinguish yourself from them but then it implies that they have other relatives which could lead to you coming up with a fictional backstory. I guess it comes down to personal taste and how the individual feels about naming conventions. (see above posts)
Pinkamena November 5, 2012 November 5, 2012 Funny you mention pets. My past pet and my current pet had/have full names with a first, middle, and end. If I had given him my last name then it'd feel like we were related somehow That makes me want to give my tulpas my last name now.
