If you are worried that "but I won't have anything to defend myself with" then you need to wonder why a random person would be getting attacked with a rifle anyway. Sure people rob stores with handguns, but that's always going to happen. IF you start getting robbed by people with ak-47's and M16's then your entire country is a problem, not just your gun laws.
