Pruria waved her hooves in-front of her face, ''W- wait, wait. Hold on. You guy's got attacked? Is that why Aigis has the hole in 'is head?'' G went a little stiff. He only vaugely remember what the 'plume of dusk' was but he remembered that is was very powerful, and that anyone who wanted to steal it was either greedy, or evil; G hated evil.

 

Pruria felt a shiver down her spine. Plume of dusks don't come around often, I'm thinking now how one could use it for the world as a whole; or for oneself The last thought shook the girl a little bit, and only made her question why she thought it. ''Okay, what happened next? How did you get the dusk-i-ma-bob back? Oh, and has that thing ever made anyone go whacky?''

 

G spun his head around to the pony. ''That's a good question, actually. But why should it concern you Pruria?''

''I just got a bit of a bad thought,'' She confessed, ''And I'm wondering if it might be that plume thingy. Doesn't matter.'' Tell us, Chloe, who are these comrades of yours?''

"I'll do the talking."

 

The boy with blue hair stepped infront of Chloe as he decided not to let his sister talk any further. Talking about this kind of experience puts a dent on one's sanity, let alone relieving them.

 

"You all almost got killed tonight, it's just fair to let you guys in on the matter. Have a seat, this will be long."

 

With that said, Cruse sat down cross legged on the tatami floor in Vixen's living room. His face shows a solemn expression. Chloe also sat down besides him as he reminisce his memory.

 

"Neither me nor my sister have memory of our childhood. The first thing we remembered was each other's face."

 

The boy looked at his sister and smiled gently. A smile full of gratitude and thankfulness.

 

"We were an experiment test subject for a way to store the power of light and darkness into a living body."

 

Cruse looked up and close his eye as he let out a melancholic sigh.

 

"This power is unbelievably powerful, and unstable. A cult called "Yami-Hikaru" desired to harness the power of light and dark and so kidnapped many living things and treated them as a lab rat. Since the power of both light and darkness are extremely unstable, for one to fully control it, he or she must have a tranquil mind, or none at all."

 

The boy then looks down onto the tatami mat. With a pained voice, he said;

 

"All of the test subject had their mind completely suppressed, or to put it simply, brainwashed. Though this prevents the light and shadow entity that was injected into everyone's mind from going berserk, it also turned them into a obedient manikins that can only follows order."

 

The boy paused. His eye shows evident of anger that was swiftly quelled.

 

"Fortunately, the brainwash effects can be removed. Occasionally, one of the brainwashed will break free of the curse and gains an independent mind, although their memory won't return. It is unclear how one's mind would break free of the suppression but both mine and my sister's did it when we saw each other."

 

Chloe smiled as her eyes gazes down onto the floor.

 

"We couldn't remember anything that was truly our memory before that moment, we could recall being trained, we could recall serving as a light and shadow warrior, we could recall being praised as skillful and honorable, and we could recall that it was all a lie.

 

From our fabricated memory, we learned that I'm a Light Assassin serving under the person who goes by Shuji Hikari. We also learned that Chloe is a Shadow Warrior serving under the man called Takaya Kage."

 

Cruse scratches his forehead as he continues.

 

"Vixen was an alchemist serving under the 'Yami-Hikaru' cult. She too, was brainwashed, but regained her sense sometimes before us. She gathered a group of those who 'regained their sense' and orchestrated a group of rebels. From her, we learned that there's an artifact called 'Dawn of Dusk Jewel'. You should explain this part Vixen."

 

Vixen nodded affirmatively. She cleared her throat and began explaining the nature of this jewel.

 

"'Dawn of Dusk Jewel' is a mysterious artifact that contains the essence of light and darkness inside it. These essences can be extracted to create an artificial Plume of Dusk or a Plume of Dawn. Normally, the naturally occurring on looks like a bird feather, but the one created from the jewel forms a round orb. These plumes, if consumed, will grants the person the power to command darkness or light. Plume of Dusk is black in color, while Plume of Dawn is white, you should be able to guess which plumes grants which power.

 

However, consuming these Plumes is often lethal, and will almost always kill the person who consumed it. Those rare enough to survive serve under the cult as either a Shadow Warrior or a Light Warrior."

 

Vixen paused and gestured her hand at Cruse to tell him to continue explaining their past.

 

"Our group of rebels decided to steal the jewel and escape when the time is right. But things never went as they planned. In the end, only three of us survived, we barely escaped from the cult's hideout and Chloe was seriously injured. Me and my sister decided to go into hiding, while Vixen decided to carry the jewel to somewhere far away. Takaya were after us ever since."

 

The boy sighed as he said;

 

"And today, he found the Jewel."

Pruria blinked wildly. ''Wait, so, what's his plan? Are we all dead?'' She dismally thought, ''Maybe we could will up and go kill him or something...'' She looked at her hooves intently and sighed, ''Fucking assholes...''

 

G stood up, ''So you had the Dawn of Dusk Jewel in that dragon chest over there? Does this have anything to do with... aw crap... what was it.... Oh! Pyromancy? It was something Chloe said on the fist night I came here?'' The man considered asking more questions but restrained himself, knowing that the group should be heading to bed soon enough and that it would be nosey of him. He did how ever let one last one slip past his lips though, one that filled his blood with rage, ''So this Takaya led a raid on this town—putting evry family who lives here in peril—just to get a stupid fucking jewel? Rocks is what jewels really are. Where can we find him; I think his neck needs a good ringing.''

Cruse stood up and gave his hand to Chloe to help her up, and said;

 

"You know what? Since Chloe seems to really like going on adventure, why don't we roam across the land taking the jewel with us. I'm sure the the cult won't find us like that."

 

Chloe's eyes seems to light up in passion. Hugging her brother, she said;

 

"I LOVE YOU BIG BROTHER!!!"

 

"That's what a few years of solitary does to someone like her. Well, good night guys"

 

Cruse walked out of the room with Chloe hugging his side. Seeing how late it is, Vixen showed everyone to a guest room.

 

"Chloe, you can sleep with your brother in the right room up stairs. G and Joal, You can sleep in the room besides the living room, make yourself at home"

 

Looking at Aigis, Vixen said;

 

"You definitely can't sleep with neither of them."

 

"I can sleep with you.", Aigis said with a mischievous smile.

 

"I'll have my knife ready then.", Vixen said with a chuckle.

 

The engineer then followed the alchemist up to her room.
