These days, things are done digitally more often than not, so being able to use a tablet - both like, actually using it and using the features to your advantage - is a huge plus later on in your life. If you're interested in a job that has to do with art, you need to be able to use a tablet. No one's hiring you unless you somehow manage to get a job that's nothing but traditional, but traditional and digital art are two different beasts that compliment each other, so knowing both again makes you a person someone wants to hire for the job. Why would they hire someone who doesn't know their shit when they could get someone who does, huh? They have great hardware support and to my knowledge Wacom is the only manufacturer of graphics tablets with wireless pens (no battery). I was lent it from a friend, but I looked it up and its $79. If it's not too late, and you haven't already ordered your sexy new Bamboo Tablet, might I suggest Monoprice, if your tight on cash? Works great kiddo, nice size (cheap ass pen though, but you could always buy a better one for like 10 or 15 dollars), and (last I checked) it's only around 50 or 60 bucks unless the sale's still going on. Just throwing that out there.
