TulpaCouple February 28, 2013 February 28, 2013 Eh, I hate to get into this sort of discussion, but, well, here I go. In the Bible Adam and Eve were in a nice little paradise? Good food, good company, good life. No painful childbirth, all that. Then comes the original sin and all that fun stuff that means pain, sickness, suffering, death, etc. Now, even with that part taken out of the bible, I've never really understood where people get the idea that it biblically states that earth is supposed to be perfect with no anguish or suffering. All that is reserved for heaven, that's where everything is supposed to be awesome isn't it? I've always believed that if God exists, that doesn't disprove science and nature, and that would mean that God is all-knowing enough to create all of that--the concept of time, reality, science etc. beyond to the atomic level. This includes animals, bacteria, hormones, stars, all of that jazz. A really awesome living machine of a universe, full of life, but also full of death and all that comes with it. Life grows and evolves and changes and that would have been part of the plan. Humans were given the chance to live in Eden and not suffer through that, but like all good humans do, we couldn't help ourselves and wanted more, took a chance, and ended up living in a world with sin, but choice. It's pretty much what every sci-fi robots taking over the world movie is about though, right? We'd rather have the choice to make our own mistakes and suffer from the consequences than to be prevented from being able to make that choice at all in the end. It's one of those human nature things. But I got ahead of myself. Basically earth is earth--Religious beliefs don't change the nature of the beast. Everything has a purpose, breaking down and dying and feeding new life. It's very beautiful, but it's no Heaven.
Sock February 28, 2013 February 28, 2013 Okay look. I do not remember breaking my consciousness, okay? I didn't rend God's creation in two! I just talked to myself for a bit. That does not constitute, for me, what you might call "breaking" my consciousness. I do not get this. I did the same thing, but I think that the whole breaking of the consciousness thing is what happened, even if that wasn't particularly the intent. How else would one explain a nigh sapient being living in someone's head that can process information at the same time as their host? Then there's how similar tulpa are to more healthy cases of MPD/Multiplicity. Then there's the whole possession bit, which is really the thing that made me reconsider my initial viewpoint (Which was actually pretty similar to yours). "It's only a hallucination" can only go so far, especially considering some of the things my crew has done in the past. But this is still just my opinion on the grand scheme of things. Neither of us really have written in stone proof about any of this, and are going by our own experiences and what seems to make the most sense. I'm not trying to tick you off or offend you or anything of that sort, I just didn't really agree with your view of things. Admittedly, part of my viewpoint might be that I find two consciousnesses living in one body harmoniously fairly more romantic than the whole thing being controlled psychosis. More importantly, you ignored, like, my entire point. You know, the comparison to mental illness. But now you're also saying that the creation process isn't God's intention, so, yeah. If it seemed like I ignored it, it's because I felt the point came out of left field, and I was still admittedly peeved about the blasphemy thing. My view of things didn't change from post to post at all. Rather, in my previous posts, I was trying to explain how even breaking something that is God's can end up turning out beautifully. Pretty much taking a lemon (psychosis) and making lemonade (tulpa). I never wanted to deny that the metaphorical lemon was not a lemon at all, and I will apologize if that's the impression you got. Maybe I was just too gung-ho and positive about it, and I forgot that people actually had to read it, I do that whenever I start typing out of passion. Sock Cottonwell's Sketchbook, Journal, and Ask thread. Peace
Nobillis March 4, 2013 March 4, 2013 So the same question keeps popping up in my mind... If I go to heaven, would my tulpa go too? I thought it over multiple times, but I wanted to see what other people think. Would it just be me because I'm one person, or would it be both of us because we're two separate beings/ conciouses? And what does God think of tulpa? Would he recognize them as beings just as we are? I would love to hear others insights, religious or not. I don't mind if a post is by someone who is not religious, as long as it does not degrade me or my beliefs. Thank you! Jesus said "suffer the little children to come to me" and "unless you are as children you cannot enter heaven" (paraphrase). If you consider tulpas to be children of the mind then they are children "unto the Lord" also. This is supported by the passage that goes "How shall your children be holy if you wed an unbeliever? They are holy because you are made holy by the blood of the lamb" (paraphrase). So children of believers go to heaven, until they are [mentally] old enough to choose for themselves and then it is by their own decision. So, I'd say that tulpas go to heaven with you. The love and concern that tulpas show for their creators reminds me of that of a child for a parent. Of course, if you are an older tulpa who has become a christian, does that mean your human will come with you? I think so, because your human is still part of you. Please consider supporting Tulpa.info.
KenzieK March 7, 2013 Author March 7, 2013 I really appreciate everyone's insights on this topic. It's opened my mind to New ideas and I'm considering lots of different possibilities. I also want to thank everyone for being respectful of each other's beliefs and ideas! I was expecting kind of a blowup debate but u guys did a good job of keeping this thread calm and free of insults. Also, yuki feels a lot more secure about the whole situation because she was the one worrying the most about it. Thanks everyone!
