Nothing happened today, tulpa-wise.

I was four minutes late yesterday, and today I'm eighteen minutes late. Hopefully this trend will end tomorrow, and hopefully I will have things to report.

Goodnight,

I read many guides today, ranging from general forcing, to imposition, to hypnogogia, to meditation, and everything in between. I'm definitely chugging along with the guide reading, and I think that I am almost reaching the point at which I can break off from reading guides and get to forcing.

I will go to my wonderland tomorrow for longer than a half an hour.

I had a session in my wonderland, but it wasn't more than half an hour. It was 22 minutes. I used Fede's Clairvoyant Focus tone, but I don't think it helped all that much.

This time was a little better, with the wonderland seeming a bit more "stable", and I was able to see things clearer and see more things at once. I tried to do Rasznir's visualization exercise on a wall in the Lounge, but I barely got to seven. I was greeted by a surprise when I entered the main wonderland, in the form of a little patch of flowers right at the tip of the central grassy area. I was finally able to visualize the Library, but I have to go back and fill it up with the ethereal "mindstuff" and put the ribbon on the door. All in all, I didn't get much done, but there wasn't much to do. I'll try to use the Memory Wardrobe at some point tomorrow, just to see how it works, and if it works. I'll probably use it to remember traits for creating the cheesy symbolic chemicals. There was also a rug under the table in the Lounge, that was new.

I created the spreadsheet with all the guides in it, and I am slowly going through it. You might have noticed how I have posted in more guides today, asking for clarification.

I just woke up from a single 90-minute sleep cycle, so I'll try to do something akin to "Lucid Mode", "Perfect Visualization", or Hypnogogia.

I am fourty minutes late today, but hopefully the reason for this, stated above, will do more good for me than the harm it did in delaying this report.

Goodnight,

I have decided that, while I will still use the same door in the Lounge to visit the wonderland, I will access things in the wonderland individually. This change was made because I needed to be able to access the Memory Wardrobe without having to enter the wonderland completely. This also will help with Narration, as I will be able to access wherever my tulpa is in the wonderland as an isolated object then talk with them that way.

I'm doing very good with the guides, and I think I can start my tulpa with Phi's Greeting Stage sometime within a week or two.

I added "Daring" to the traits list, under "Adventurous". My rationale behind this was that other traits such as understanding cover the opposite of daring, which is careful. This balance, as well as having it be a subtrait under Adventurous serves to not have it be a huge defining personality trait, but rather to help balance out my own timidness in certain situations. Obviously it will be nothing near the extent of swagfags, but what it will do is give her an insight into other sides of "should this be done" decisions.

Speaking of traits, I think that I could use this progress report as a way to explain the traits preemptively to my future tulpa, seeing as I will do some narration by reading this progress report to her. What I'll do is go through the list, with one supertrait each night, describing the trait, my rationale behind it, etc., along with whatever subtraits are under it. I'll start tomorrow.

(I'm glad to be on time at 11:44 PM CDT today.)

I think I neglected to say a couple of nights ago something that happened in my wonderland. I will be using a cheesy symbolic thing of opening a box in my chest to reveal light. I will then sort of "bend" (Avatar style) the light and spin it into a form for my proto-tulpa. I tested the box thing that day, and the color of the light was sort of like whitish-golden-yellow appearing at the same time as whitish-blue. (I used "whitish" there to describe the color because describing a light as "light blue" sounded weird.) When the time comes to forge the initial proto-tulpa with this cheesy symbolism, I will change the color. It will likely be to lighter versions of the Spring Green and Dark Orchid mentioned earlier, existing simultaneously like my own.

Next time I visit the wonderland, I will materialize into it a ruler. This will help me figure out how to keep the wonderland more stable, and to keep my form within it stable. I have a physical ruler with me, and I will use the method described here to make the ruler an extremely stable mind-object that I can then transfer some of its stability to other objects.

Trait of the day: Adventurous

Adjective

  1. Willing to take risks or to try out new methods, ideas, or experiences.
  2. Involving new ideas or methods.

As I said earlier, I can be timid (and other words with this connotation) sometimes. While this will not make her completely reckless, it will make her a little more willing to do things and to push me to do things I wouldn't normally do. Adventurous has a different connotation to me because of personal reasons, but it could apply to anything from the first image that the word "adventurous" invokes, something outdoorsy (which I am not), to simply trying a new place to eat. As you will see, the connotation of "adventurous" in the context of my tulpa will be refined by the subtraits.

Scientifically curious:

I didn't want to put just "curious" because, as everyone knows, "Curiosity killed the cat." But really, all this did was refine it to show that there is still the sense of staying safe and not straying too far, while also continually wanting to know more knowledge. Also, including the word "scientifically" adds another layer to her personality as a "hidden" affinity towards science and the like. Trying to find a definition for "scientifically curious", I found this very illustrative thing.

Daring:

I detailed this last progress report, so I'll just quote it:

My rationale behind this was that other traits such as understanding cover the opposite of daring, which is careful. This balance, as well as having it be a subtrait under Adventurous serves to not have it be a huge defining personality trait, but rather to help balance out my own timidness in certain situations. Obviously it will be nothing near the extent of swagfags, but what it will do is give her an insight into other sides of "should this be done" decisions.

Inquisitive:

This is again pointing towards "curious", but this is aiming closer to asking questions, as that is what inquiring is. This means that she is not afraid to ask questions, and will try to know as much as possible. Of course, asking many questions like this seems to be standard across most tulpas, as they are brand new beings wanting to discover everything about this world they were born-imagined into.

I am doing good as usual with the guides, and I am right on schedule. I still should do more wonderland sessions, though.

(Dammit, I really missed my time)

Nothing to report today. Unfortunately, I didn't write up a trait of the day for today, but it will resume with "Kind" tomorrow.

I was active on the forums, but that isn't saying much.

I just counted, and I only have 23 guides to go through, and probably at least five of those I am just going to label "read later".

Goodnight,

holy shit a member who actually posts tl;dr's and not just "hehederp I tulpamaked todai" every 12 hours.

Subscribed. Keep it up, colorful chinaware man.

fourfiction, the idiot.

That's because I am an obsessive planner, yet I procrastinate, so I have a lot of content without having even started my tulpa yet.

Not much progress on the guides front. I've been narrowing them down, so it's not that bad. Only 15 guides left now.

I wanted to add something to my rationale for choosing the subtrait "scientifically curious". One of the draws of making a tulpa for me would be the experimentation, with things like possession, switching, and even further into the outlandish things. I figured that having a tulpa that would be interested in finding out these things, through scientific curiosity, would be receptive to getting them done.

Trait of the day: Kind

Adjective

  1. Of a friendly, generous, or warm-hearted nature.
  2. Showing sympathy or understanding; charitable: a kind word.

I like kind. I don't find kind to be "uninteresting", as others might assume. I like nice, friendly, benevolent. I prefer people to get along rather than butt heads. I open doors for people, and I would imagine a tulpa of mine would do the same. Happiness can rub off between people, and that chain reaction can be started by someone simply being kind. Something relevant from the Boy Scouts: "A Scout knows there is strength in being gentle. He treats others as he wants to be treated. Without good reason, he does not harm or kill any living thing."

Polite:

Again, this is relating to the holding doors thing. This is more of an elaboration and emphasis on a certain aspect of "kind". "Polite", to me, means helpful, especially in the little things. One could put "courteous" under this. It all is revolving around a general idea of a person I'd like to be around. I am a boring person, and I like things to be unexciting at their base state (meaning it can get exciting, but it will be relaxed without outside force making it exciting).

Cooperative:

It seems that there are a lot of tulpas that act mean and intentionally cause conflict with their hosts. (see things like this thread and the "asshole" part of this thread) Of course, the hosts mostly enjoy it, and it is all in good fun. I don't think like that. I don't like conflict like this, even in jest, so I put something directly opposing that in the traits list. Don't think that this means she will be some submissive sentient puppet, doing whatever I say just because that's how she does things, but instead think of how I had another full trait (as opposed to subtrait) of "determined", which I only wrote as such because "stubborn" has negative connotations. You'll notice a lot of instances where I "balance" traits with one another in hopes to get the good aspects of each while canceling out the bad.

Trustworthy:

This one is a little looser as a subtrait than the rest, but it wasn't strong to stand on its own sans subtraits or weak enough to be cut. I like the truth. It's simple. Even though a tulpa is the perfect thing to confide anything to, this trait just emphasizes this feature. Yes, a tulpa is generally automatically trust worthy by its nature, but I like this feature in people as-is, and adding it into my tulpa's personality likely will just bring the more subtle aspects of personality I can't easily consciously perceive.

My anticipation for starting my tulpa is mounting, but I will hold myself back to make this happen the way I want it to happen: slow and controlled.

Goodnight,

Lacquer[/align]
