I've been reading visualization guides but haven't seen this specific problem addressed, so I'll go ahead and ask it here. When I go to my wonderland with my pre-formed tulpa (just a ball of light at the moment, but the wonderland setting is fully established) I see things as though through a blinking black light or a series of rapid pictures, rather than a single smoothly transitioning image. Practice seems to have improved this a little bit, but not enough; I really need this resolved before I can begin to form my tulpa. Does anybody have any tips or tricks that might assist in overcoming this?

For clarification you mean that when in your wonderland it's as if there is a strobe light effect that's occurring?

It's possible, unlikely, but possible that because your current pre-form Tulpa (which you said is like a ball of light) is following through with it's form, experimenting with it's setting.

Personally, I'm in much the same situation as yourself as I'm dealing with a very young voiceless, personality-less form myself. Try to keep calm as you enter your wonderland and focus on being in a kind of "flowing" state.

It's possible that irritation at your situation is causing a sort of jumpy feedback. Now please take what I say with a massive pillar of salt, I'm still very new, but maybe this will help?

Best of luck, cheers!

Sort of a strobe light effect, it was happening before I had put anything into the tulpa at all so I don't think that's the source. It's kind of like... Normally when you look around, you see everything like a video camera. Imagine instead that you are looking around the room, but you're seeing it as a series of pictures. So like stop motion film.

I hadn't considered mood, that's really helpful. I'll try to stay open to the possibility that it is my tulpa. I think it's just a matter of having trouble focusing on visualization but I'm not sure.

It could be any number of variables but if this was occurring before you even had a visualization then I think it's safe to say that it is NOT on the forming side as being the source.

If you're as new as I am to this you can rest assured I think that everyone comes across issues that make them raise an eyebrow or irritate them. Personally I spent half a week staring at a plant in my thought-place wondering what the heck I was doing!

A bit more on topic though I think it's possible that mood and distractions can cause a bleed effect.

Best of luck! Cheers!

You could just be having an issue with concentration. The issue can be with just you if you have isolated yourself. If you are trying to focus on the wonderland and your tulpa at the same time, things can be very difficult for you because you are splitting your attention (even people with strong visualization or concentration skills have a hard time trying to see everything in their environment and their tulpa on it as well). If you need to figure out what to do here are you options:

- You can just focus on your tulpa and in time the wonderland will paste itself as the background when you are working with your tulpa.

- Wonderlands aren't needed. If you have to, get rid of it. It could just be inhibiting your progress.

- You said that practice was giving progress/improvement to this issue. Sometimes things can't be overcome with skill and just need time and commitment. Perhaps you just need to practice for a while and the problem will go away.

I have very bad concentration, but I looked at few concentration exercises in the New Great Big List of Guides Section, Specifically Rasznir's Method. I dedicated my first few days to improving my concentration before I began and it helped me greatly.

Also, you can create a temporary form for your tulpa (you can have him/her change it later) and do some fun activities to build sentience. I used skydiving, swimming, rp (role-playing) scenarios and etc. whenever I did forcing and it moved along my progress immensely.

If none of these things apply to you or have any changes on your progress, then it could just be a unique visualization quirk or issue with you specifically.

And finally, if you think it will be problematic in the future to your progress, then it probably will end up doing so. If nothing works, then just go with it and try your best to ignore it or accept it.

Hope this helped!
