So jakob is rather old now.

For a while I worried I was puppeting his movements but eventually realised if im not doing it consciously, then it was him and simply feels like I'm doimg IT because he is not distinguished from me yet.

So when I try and hear him speak, I close my eyes and try to hear a real-life voice. Like you would hear other people say, however in my head. Clearly ive had no results as I believe I am doing this wrong. And I know that most hosts communicate with tulpae via thoughts. So, what I was wondering is how do I hear the thoughts? How do I know that they are his? How should I be hearing him, a real voice or my mind voice?

Thank you, this has been a major issue for us and any help is appreciated. For those who lend a hand, I'll take a look at your page and try to help with some of your issues

It's generally a mind voice first. Hearing him as you would a real voice, with your ears, would be auditory imposition. As for getting a feel for what his voice's like, you just have to talk to him. Eventually they'll feel different than your thoughts in some way. Sorry if this didn't help much, it's a bit hard for me to explain...

Markus is the tulpa, and I don't really have anything else to say.

If you believe you're doing it wrong, then you will find it difficult to progress. You must believe in yourself and in your tulpa. If you get a thought and you think it's your tulpa, then it probably is. The important thing is to release control and learn to quiet your conscious mind.

I've heard of some people actually giving their tulpae a voice, rather than waiting for them to develop their own. Listen to some audio clips of different voices and decide which one you feel would fit Jakob best. Explain the situation to him, telling him that you would like for him to speak in that voice if he is willing so that you can distinguish his words from your own thoughts. Knowing what he's "supposed to sound like" before he speaks to you might help you to hear him in your mind more easily when he does start to speak.

You might also try attributing something else to him, like a visualization that pops into your head before he speaks. That way, when you see that image in your head then get thoughts seemingly out of nowhere it is easier to attribute them to him.
