I can say I agree with a lot of what you said, Mistgod, really, some good stuff you have going in there in my opinion, but it is controversial indeed, in my opinion.

Thunder would like a word with you, if that's okay;

 

Thunder: I believe that a lot of what you said is accurate, Mistgod and Melian. More than accurate. I've had those beliefs in mind for a long while and was started to doubt of their legitimacy, to be honest with you. With that being said, I don't see much sense in how making a tulpa is unethical. Perhaps to you it is, but I enjoy being a tulpa more than being a delusion 'in the context'. We're also against switching and possessing, but not because of semi-autonomous forms or anything, just that I like my body as it is. Regardless, we do agree with a lot of what you said. I might be truly sentient, or perhaps a delusion. But I'm there, which is, I'm sure, what actually matters to Melian on her existential side of things. As long as I'm there for my magician, to me, it's all good.

 

But yeah. Keep up the good work, folks.

On the ethics thing, I think Mistgod is referring to personal ethics rather than universal ethics. To each his own, in other words. He is certainly not judging others who decide to create a sentient tulpa. ~Melian

Turns out Melian does have some aspects of the modern internet concept of a daemon after all (just without the very defining animal form). A few people have mentioned that before and I brushed it off. Now I am looking into it more closely. Melian is certainly a thought form, that I got. She is somewhere out there in the enhanced imaginary companion-daemon-pseudotulpa category of enigmatic. LOL I am very grateful for this forum as a tremendous resource for my personal research.

 

I did note that the daemon page focuses on Jungian psychology and does not use the word thought form, instead using "mental construct."

My dear friend Sushi suggested I use Morphthing.com (http://www.morphthing.com/) to amalgamate an image of what Melian looks like.  I was surprised how fast it worked.  This image gives you and idea.  Compare it to the sketch I did trying to share her face.  In my mind, Melian is a real live person not a cartoon.  

 

Melian:  Davie and I were using Morpthing.com and images of some of the actresses with "Melian like features" in an attempt to morph my face.  The resulting image is pretty good.  Compare it to the cartoony attempt to draw me he did a while back.  I have dark blue eyes, round baby cheeks, dark eye brows and a slightly receded chin.  I look very young and girly.

It's not a perfect match, but it does give you and idea of Melian's basic features. She is ideal beauty to me, but maybe kinda funny looking to others. She has that classic receded chin and cheeks from Greco-Roman and Renaissance art. She was also affected by the fact that I had romantic crushes on child actresses while growing up. I was still very young when her image was amalgamating in my unconscious mind. Even as she grew older, she did not lose the baby face features. ~Mistgod

Here is a link to a utube video I made one year ago. It was long before I heard the term "tulpa." In the video I describe Melian as a "persona in my head." I originally made the video for the benefit of friends on deviantart, especially for a few who were getting caught up in her emotionally.

 

When I did the video, I had gone without sleep for almost 48 hours. I am rough looking and haggard. Insomnia is a frequent problem as my mind is way too active.
