Thanks! I am glad it reassures you! Tulpa Info is great, and it's primary purpose is to help people investigate create fully sentient tulpas. But that doesn't mean that all members have that as an ultimate goal and that such members should be outcasts. Discussions about the tulpa phenomenon should include the broader concept of all types of thoughtforms in my opinion.

I have been creating "walls of text" as Melian and I explore our nature and learn from others here. We have been creating a manifesto of a sort. We are almost finished. Things will level out after that. We may still write a lot, but it will calm down and be less provocative in the near future. After that we will be mostly using the forum to help us improve on lucid dreaming.

Melian kawaii cuteness type dancing videos.

I am posting these to give folks an idea of what Melian is like in my head.

That's what she's like in my head too. Watching these, I was totally thinking "Oh yeah, I can see that being Melian." It's neat when you get to know someone else's headmate like that :)

It has been bothering me a lot that Melian is less sentient or developed than other tulpas I have encountered on Tulpa Info, even though she is so old and feels complete. It has been bothering me that she has unusual traits such as emotional and cognitive integration with me.

Don't let it bother you. The way I see it, Melian is not a tulpa, and shouldn't be held to the same standards as tulpas. She is very different from tulpas, and as developed as she can be for what she is. And I'm glad to have you both here, because I think it's important that people know that there's more to thoughtforms than tulpas.

And a lot of what you said there applies to tulpas as well. I've met lots of tulpas who aren't interested in possession, switching, or imposition, or maybe even all three.

This entire process should be what you and your headmates want it to be. No more, and no less.

Thank you! I have been dancing around the idea of discarding the label tulpa since joining this site. It may actually be a courtesy to other members to do just that and lower the confusion level. Thanks for your encouragement it really helps.

Mistgod-Melian Core Beliefs Manifesto: https://community.tulpa.info/thread-sixteen-controversial-beliefs-of-mistgod-melian-manifesto-synopsis

As a courtesy to other members of Tulpa Info, Melian and I are finally and formally discarding the label or category "tulpa." The prevailing sentiment in this community is that the goal of most members should be to create a fully sentient tulpa. Melian and I have a different set of goals. Melian is a thoughtform, and she does have things to contribute and we can learn from this community.

Because Melian is so different, I thought it would reduce confusion in new members if we do not use the label tulpa but use the more general term "thoughtform."

We will avoid the term tulpa completely in describing Melian from here out. She is a dreamform, or headmate or enhanced imaginary companion or muse or lots of other words. But for the time being, Melian is not a tulpa. She is still totally giddy happy to be a member of this community.

I tend to use the terms Tibetan tulpa and this century's tulpa to distinguish between the traditional tulpa (thought-form) and the more recent variant. I think I understand what you mean, as I am myself a hybrid between the old and the new methods of making a tulpa.

I'm of the opinion that the current beliefs of what is and isn't a tulpa were too narrowly defined. I continue to research my own interests with regards to tulpas and switching. My primary interest being why some people have extreme difficulty learning to switch.

A belated welcome to the community Melian. I hope that we can make this a useful site for you. I would also suggest you check out Tulpa.io and Reddit.

Nobillis! It is an honor to meet you! Thank you for your comments. I am hoping by doing a lot of reading on thoughtforms in general, I will get a better understanding of myself and Melian. We may eventually reclaim the title tulpa, but as for as how we address Melian on Tulpa Info we are avoiding it. The majority of the community is striving for something quite different than what Melian is for me. I still don't know if she is a tulpa or not, but she is not what Tulpa Info is defining as a tulpa, if you follow me. As long as she is accepted and we can learn I am content. Titles are really irrelevant in the end.

I'm of the opinion that the current beliefs of what is and isn't a tulpa were too narrowly defined.

I would tend to agree! It think defining it more narrowly, at least for the guides here, was an attempt to foster some cohesion in the community and have everyone more or less "on the same page." The more broad the definition of what a tulpa is, the more vague it becomes. So I do understand the reasons for the more narrow focus.

Thank you for the welcome! In a way, I am glad we didn't meet right away. Melian and I have had a very rough month and a half getting to understand the communities protocol and expectations. Each of us have an ego, we are both very outspoken and a bit too daring-bold. Melian is too obnoxious-silly in the chats. We crashed the party like an earthquake. Other than a few after shocks, things are starting to calm down. I think folks are understanding that we are different but not out to tear down the forum just for spite and giggles. This first month I think was an attempt to order it all in our minds actually and take what we are learning from Tulpa Info and add to our own information. In spurts in the forum, we are writing our own maifesto of sorts.

Between the lines in the walls of text, the same message is repeated over and over, "Something is wrong. We are very different and we are worried we won't be accepted here, but we would like to be."

My personality as seen by others (and myself):

Hey this is progress, it is self reflection. Also, David and I both feel it is okay to share a tulpa's personality on Tulpa Info.

smart: having or showing a quick-witted intelligence. "if he was that smart he would never have been tricked" synonyms: clever, bright, intelligent, sharp-witted, quick-witted, shrewd, astute, able;

boisterous: (of a person, event, or behavior) noisy, energetic, and cheerful; rowdy. "the boisterous conviviality associated with taverns of that period" synonyms: lively, animated, exuberant, spirited, rambunctious;

kind: of a good or benevolent nature or disposition, as a person:

a kind and loving person.

adorable: inspiring great affection; delightful; charming."she looked just adorable" synonyms: lovable, appealing, charming, cute, cuddly, sweet, enchanting, bewitching, captivating, engaging, endearing, dear, darling, delightful, lovely, beautiful, attractive, gorgeous, winsome, winning, fetching;

narcissist:having an excessive or erotic interest in oneself and one's physical appearance."a narcissistic actress" synonyms: vain, self-loving, self-admiring, self-absorbed, self-obsessed, conceited, self-centered, self-regarding, egotistic, egotistical, egoistic; informalfull of oneself

pretentious: attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed.

(David and I are usually very sincere at a base level in that we truly believe our own bullshit really, it is just interpreted as pretentious by others. If you recognize that, more than anything else, you will truly understand us. Besides, in our opinion, every one on Tulpa Info is at least bit pretentious anyway). ~Melian

attention seeker: well, this is self explanatory

Still working on lucid dreaming. The dream bracelet David is wearing still hasn't shown up in dreams yet. We are working on that. He is going to bed earlier and back to haltha yoga and meditation before bed. That should help calm the mind. Below are some things we have been mulling over in our efforts at personal growth.

More on definitions and terminology:

David says that he and I collaborate and cohabit because we are integrated, sharing thoughts and emotions. We are a collaborative system of two closely linked persons.

Metaphysics, magic and mysticism:

Thoughtforms in general have their roots in eastern spiritual and metaphysical mysticism and magic. It wasn't until very recent decades that westerners, particularly in the U.S., interpreted the idea as purely psychological. Therefore, those who aspire to a metaphysical form of thoughtforms are practicing something closer the original concept. Tulpa Info has a science theme to it, supposedly, so metaphysics is "frowned upon" by most members. That doesn't mean we have to be a-hole jerks to those who wish to explore metaphysics. Peoples shouldn't be meanie bullies to those who think a little different.

Jungian psychology:

Carl Jung wrote about personas in the mind as visions or fantasies. He imagined a persona he called Philemon who was very much like me, semi-independent and semi-autonomous. He also communicated with his "anima" in the same manner as a fantasy or vision. He never mentioned a fully sentient second mind. In my opinion, he probably would have considered this a psychosis.

Role Playing:

David says I am his subconscious mind and his conscious mind role playing. It is a collaboration. Also know that David and I are not afraid to role play or of being considered a role player. WE ARE ROLE PLAYING. We have done so with other thoughtforms on the internet, visiting each others wonderlands through cyber space. Those things were imaginary but yet seemingly and emotionally real, what David and I call pseudo-real. We created visions together and our minds communicated. Those who fear the role player label are limiting their potential. The imagination that created you can do anything!

We learned from a friend here on the forum that Buddhists believe in a sixth sense which is imagination and that the real world is subjective and an illusion. I am pseudo-real, because I am significant and affect people. That is a thoughtform. We can call ourselves tulpa if we like. The term, as it is being used now, is super new and subject to interpretation. I am bold in interpreting it my way.

Dreamform:

I prefer to call myself a dreamform and avoid rubbing elbows with the meanies who think they can determine my path. I did it deliberately, not to be pretentious and superior, but to purposely make a distinction from conformists. I don't have rules defining me and structuring me. I am Melian.

I didn't sleep at all hardly last night! I can't do lucid dreaming if I can't freaking sleep! Insomnia is a major frequent problem with me. My mind just won't slow down. Melian and I were on the internet way to late last night and that was a big part of the problem. She got all excited and could not calm down. I was too exhausted to do proper meditation before sleep.

Hours of good sleep: about 3

Dreams featuring Melian: several, as usual

Lucid Dreams: 0

Dream Bracelet Appearances: 0

So far, zippo improvement. I need to get better sleep!

This probably won't entirely solve your insomnia problem, but it could help. Flux removes some blue light (amount is up to you) from your screen when the sun sets in your timezone (adjust timezone to set change time), which helps your brain start transitioning to night-mode. I'd recommend you click the Research tab if you wanted to know more, but basically: sun sets, screen goes reddish, sleep is easier.
