Responsiblity, i still don't see it as responsibility. Maybe because I'm doing it right, but my headmates are charished, loved and respected. They're extrodinarily useful, and caring. Responsiblity seems to denote 'work'. I can't liken this to work. (From that standpoint.)

How does a dude go about finding a sense of community on the internet in >current year?

 

It's been like 7 years since I've been anywhere where I felt really comfy and excited to be around fellow members, and they around me, and I've been getting kinda nostalgic for that. I only have four dudes I talk to on the semi-reg but they're definitely not compatible with each other so I'm just kinda stuck talking to whoever among them is cool with chatting on any given day and being bored out of my mind for the rest of it.

 

Anyone have any experiences or advice on the matter? Don't suggest vidya, I am physically incapable of forming meaningful connections via video games for some reason. I've got like 700 hours in ffxiv and have yet to meet a single person I've liked talking to enough to friend, but that could just be me.

Definitely has that sense here. We're not all that big, it expands and contracts, but we are happy to hear from them and about them. Honestly the glue here is tulpamancy and learning tulpamancy. I'm trying to get advanced techniques supported and spread so we can keep the interest of people longer. Certainly having a warm environment helps, but there's also a certain type of person who can just keep going regardless.

 

Warmth, security, safety comes at the price of free and unfettered shitposting. We still have some, but it's just not as appreciated as it was five years ago.

 

I don't know how to help you there, I make this place a priority, I try to be helpful and honest, and I try to be interesting. I care, that much is clear, and people do notice. Every bit of caring I give, I feel like I get back. That's the kind of community I like right now. I'm kind of glad it's not all about shitposting memes. If anyone I do that the most.
