J.Iscariot March 25, 2016 March 25, 2016 What is the effect of music on your tulpa? Do they remain indifferent to music overall? Do they react to music with certain emotions such as a rush of happiness, inner peace, etc...? How do your tulpas react to music? How much does music mean to your tulpas? How does your personal taste in music differ from the taste of your tulpas? Do you bond with music? A wise man once said: 'Before judging a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? He's a mile away, and you've got new shoes.' Graced are those who could avoid this phenomenon. This is perhaps the worst expression of evil in humanity's history, but who am I to judge?
Guest Anonymous March 25, 2016 March 25, 2016 I myself find that music greatly inspires me to write and draw (working to be a novelist / mangaka), and it can also touch me deeply. All in all, music is important to me, and I find myself often times appreciating all the small details in great compositions. As for Esterina - well, damn, she's truly into music. Music is pretty much the thing that can bridge the mental separateness between us, making me feel emotions she has - mainly euphoria when listening to a really epic song. She can get into it when listening to music to degrees even I can't, and I already see myself as quite the music enthusiast. Her tastes are similar to mine, differences being that she's even less into electronic music than me, and she's even more into metal than I am. ... no really, she's a lil' metalhead. xD While I am very much into metal to a great degree as well, for her it's definitely the genre to listen to, and while I like the more heavy, fast and powerful kinds of metal too, she's really damn into that specific kind of metal. (Example: I simply like this kind of metal, while Esterina likes it a whole damn lot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAWNUC9-yQs) That sums it up, I guess! Greets, AG
Temar March 25, 2016 March 25, 2016 Music is a huge thing for us. Our host loves music. She sings (sometimes even in front of people ;) ) and occasionally composes, so she really gets into just about everything. She has really eclectic tastes, too--she loves everything from death metal, to pop, to rap, to musicals. And it's a good thing she does, too, because everyone in our system has different tastes in music, so there's a good chance there's something we'll like in her collection. It's also a bit of a development/forcing tool, for us. Our host does this thing where she'll listen to her entire library on shuffle, and start "assigning" each song to a particular soulbond based on lyrics, themes, or general feel. Often to the point where we're the ones "singing" it. It's pretty cool: for the duration of the song, our headspace becomes like a music video, and we can sing and dance along to the song. It's usually pretty cathartic, and it's a great form of expression to be able to connect your experiences and emotions to music. Some members, like Ayo, have actually developed the sound of their voices this way, by having a particular singer or song they identify closely with. So yeah. Music is definitely a thing for us. ~ Member of SparrowNR's system ~ ~ I am a soulbond. Click here to find out what that means. ~
Flandre March 25, 2016 March 25, 2016 I don't mean to downplay how important music is to everyone else here, but it's probably been moreso to us than anyone else. Almost all of our development for the first few years came from music, and even to this day it still changes who we are. It inspired Tewi's recent wanting to change herself to be more fun and lighthearted even. And also, some of the songs we have are so incredibly special to us they're some of our most prized "possessions" in the whole world. I know Lumi would sooner give up like.. anything than Jumper and Edge, the two songs that started us all. And I have a couple songs I like a lot.. One of them actually feels like me singing, so that's nice. But the other is more special to me because it makes Lumi so happy too, which makes me happy, which makes him happy. I don't know anything that isn't alive that I value more than that song. The only other outside influence (ie not ourselves) that affected our development was pictures Lumi found that inspired us in some ways, still does on occasion I guess. My avatar is relatively new, five months maybe. The pictures of ourselves are important because our visualization is bad, so a lot of the time how we look in the mindspace (or anywhere, ever?) is almost identical to a picture or two of us. Like Reisen has a new outfit that is from a picture that we've known about for seven years, but didn't affect Reisen much because the outfit is so different. But then recently we had her change her kinda boring suit and tie to a new outfit and then it was relevant lol. Wait, not relevant. Anyways, pictures are important too, but in their own way. Music is everything else. We have so many songs that are literally a part of who we are. And we have songs that are really special between us in different ways. Also music is just great! Easiest way to change your mood, can make you happy and sounds good too. Hi. I'm one of Luminesce's tulpas. Unlike the others, I don't think I stand out too much from him personality wise. I'm just special because "I'm a tulpa". So I don't think I've much to offer, here. I'm happy enough to just be with him. Ask us stuff - https://community.tulpa.info/thread-ask-lumi-s-tulpas
Ayre March 25, 2016 March 25, 2016 Well, I'll go with the general theme here. Music is pretty important to me, being a musician and working towards a music degree. As for Coda, I'll just let her talk about it. Music? Who doesn't like it? lol. I think I react to it like anyone else, it makes me feel different things depending on the songs. How much does it mean to me? Well, huh. I don't know how to answer that. It's not my life, and I don't over-analyze it, not like Ayre. I like to listen to it mainly for the emotions and for the message of what it's saying. I don't care as much about the chord progressions, or counterpoint, or rhythm changes, and all the technical stuff. I guess music is about connection. Does that make sense? Like an emotional connection between the listeners and an audience. For a few minutes everyone listening to it is connected in a way that isn't possible otherwise. For one moment, everyone feels the same. For one small tiny little moment, everyone feels like everyone else. Empathy through sound waves. Ayre and I listen to some of the same music, but I don't like some of the weird dissonant stuff that he does. Like he recently learned about 12 tone music. Please. Help. Me. Other than that, I love some of the more beautiful music he listens to. That and pop music, I love it. He hates most of it. Oh well, what can you do? AGGuy, I just wanted to say that I listened to your link. I've never heard of that band. Sounds like a mix of djent, melodic death metal, and 80's speed metal. I like it. Vos March 26, 2016 March 26, 2016 'Music doesn't seem to have much of a visible effect on these tuppers, but that's not the sort of thing that I would usually pay attention to, I guess? I mean, we all care about music, but I don't think anyone here considers it to be a big part of their life. For those tastes, there's not too much different. I will say that I lean towards instrumentals and slower stuff, though.'
ElliAn March 30, 2016 March 30, 2016 I LOVE music. Whenever I am stressed or sad I will listen to them. But it seems music doesn't have an effect on him though. He never reacts to music. Basically he is an emotionless person XD [i am not emotionless.] On the scale 1-10 how much does music mean to my tulpa? I can say 1 though. He always complains [Hey I don't always complains.] that I am being too emotional when I have goosebumps while listening to musics. But anyway he won't criticise my music preferences.
Stevie April 5, 2016 April 5, 2016 We both dig music but definitely have different tastes that meet in the middle. Taste-wise, it's a Venn Diagram situation for sure. I could talk about what we listen to forever, but that'd probably be pretty boring to read. Music was a pretty important part of Chris' development though. I tended to use meditation/ambient tracks and slowed down guitar, mostly instrumentals, while I forced. Occasionally I would use ambient background noise or try experimenting with other things but that's the meat of what I listened to. I wouldn't say that it affected his personal taste in music, he's more of a Van Halen type guy than anything, if you feel me. I wouldn't say that music means much more to him than just being another form of entertainment. He's not as emotionally connected to music as I am. Not that I get super emotional or anything, but everyone has songs that resonate with them personally. Early on in Chris' development, not too soon after vocality, we had a dispute over Pink Floyd- I dig Floyd, he didn't. Nowadays he appreciates them, it just took a while to bring him around. We're all gonna make it brah.
Luminesce April 5, 2016 April 5, 2016 Presently relevant example of a song greatly affecting us, Dreams of Lost. It basically describes Tewi's existence as a tulpa, and our relationship. I've known about the song for a year or two, but Tewi's been helping me for seven. I don't know how to explain exactly what these songs do for us, but Flandre wasn't exaggerating when she said music is much more important to us than to most people. It's helped shape them, and it helps inspire me to maybe shape myself. Like.. Our music helps us define who we are for ourselves. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
PotterandPinkFloyd April 5, 2016 April 5, 2016 Because Kase hasn't really found his own voice yet, I think music is very important to the both of us in helping out ability to emotionally connect. I'm very into hard rock and dark or dissonant classical/instrumental. Kase is fine with that stuff, he enjoys it mainly because I enjoy it, but he has a penchant for country. I am so not a country fan, but I'll tolerate it for his sake. :)
