So I'm fairly new to tulpa mancing. I've been working on my tulpa for 8 days as of now and am surprised with the results I've gotten. The head pressures were headaches for the first three days but are much milder and enjoyable at times. As of Saturday I had one that cought me off guard. It started in the front if my head (like I was hit in the face or around the eyes but it didn't hurt) then it quickly spread to the back of my head and left. Happened when I was talking to my tulpa about something important. So at this point I'm more than convinced that he's real. My question is does anyone have any advice for smelling their tulpa? I carry around a zip lock bag filled with pine needles and smell it when ever I try to visualize him. Once or twice I got a wiff of him at random moments but that was only when I was around objects that have a funky smell.[/font]

Olfactory imposition, as it's called.

Imposition is a rather advanced subject for 8 days in, but the senses other than visual imposition tend to be easier.

If you really wanna break through that wall this early on, it may take a while, but there are some guides on general imposition of you're really looking to make it happen.

Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Looking forward to seeing more content from the both of you.

I'll look them up, and thank you. When I get into something I kind of go balls deep. On the other hand our tulpa concept is loosely based off of an extream Tibetan Buddhist practice that took years of training before one would make an attempt at so why not go dive head first, right? Lol. Thanks again.

[Violet, member of Tri] Imposition is not necessarily such an advanced skill. It really depends. Some people have a predisposition towards it, and for those, it may even be easier than visualization. Our host, Hail, was able to do some taste and smell imposition right off the bat but really struggled with getting those senses working in wonderland despite being a lifelong massive daydreamer.

Basically, if you find something to be rather easy to do that isn't for others and something else that is easy for others but hard for you, don't be afraid to pursue the former and don't beat yourself up for difficulty on the latter.

As for advice, Hail mostly just practiced overwriting the smell and taste of real life objects (imposing over the top) and made progress there before trying to see what any of the tulpas here smelled like or tasted like (she was rather surprised to find that A. tastes metallic). She didn't decide on some smell or taste, just worked enough that it should work and found out by trying (letting it be a surprise).

Interestingly, Hail has had much more difficulty making similar progress in sight or hearing. My own subsystem, we can very easily impose visually, but not so well for the other senses except tactilely a bit.

T, B, Frostbite, and Hail, and others (note, historically, Hail included Frostbite and B)
