When we first approached Davie's family trying to explain me, we were using references to transgender bigender. We legitimately do function a bit like transgender bigender, especially while on the internet, but the very word "transgender" did not go over well. I think "median system" or "tulpa" would have just confused everyone. Everyone understands imaginary friend and vivid imagination. Few understand plural system, median or tulpa. It's just a fact.

 

I am accepted widely because Davie explains me as an imaginary muse and inner fantasy girl who just seems very real because he has an imagination. He believes in me but knows I only exist in his mind and I am part of him. He ties me to his art and role playing story worlds. People can get their head around that (usually). It's not as awkward and uncomfortable or sinister/frightening. So I end up chatting with all the extended family on Facebook and friends all over the United States, even his old shipmates from the navy days.

 

Some have said that it is tragic that I can't "be honest about myself" with everyone. But I am being honest about myself. I am an imaginary construct and an imaginary friend and art muse. I am more than that, but they get that as well when Davie explains I am part of him. It isn't that hard.

I don't know if it works the same with median aspects but, don't people freak out when you take control? (Do you take control ?)

Nope.  I don't usually "take control."  I do influence Davie's behavior.  I have been around for 40 years, so people just don't see any difference in the behavior Davie has always had.  His wife and step daughters have always said he was more feminine then most men in some ways and even said he had "a girl inside of him," even before he went public with me.  His (my) silly dances and squeals and flailing the arms around they just thought was Davie.  With a median system, they are actually right, it was Davie.  I am Davie and he is me.  

 

He says I am a "personification of feelings of female gender" and an "inner girl."  Median system does describe me very well, but I also have some traits of a tulpa/soulbond or whatever, as it has been described on these internet forums.  But I blend with Davie instead of possessing/switching completely or taking over.

If they are sincere in their reports, and not embellishing them (highly unlikely they are not embellishing) then they are deluding themselves somehow.

 

But what's the difference?!

 

If from the inside, the person believes it to be true, and from the outside there appears to be two different personalities speaking, then what is there to delude? Obviously they haven't actually created a physical being next to them, isn't deluding themselves to believe it's there the whole point?

 

 

Anyway...

 

I think when we come back (like tomorrow ... naw, maybe longer) we will stay only in the Lounge and in the Forum Games and the art threads...

Yeah i see, i can understand better now ! This blending makes the difference between Mistgod and you hard to notice from the outside. As you are the same person, they can't really tell how "independant" you are. That's cool :D

But I think that someone actually switching with a tulpa in front of someone who doesn't know nothing about this world would be kinda weird... People would probably think they are insane and would call a doctor or whatever.. I don't know, I think we wouldn't switch in front of people.. If they see Cora one day and me the other day, maybe they'd think I am some kind of bipolar or smth, but switching in the middle of a talk... Spaghetti..

Yeah I can't answer for those who do actually do switching in front of people, but I imagine it might be jarring in some situations.

Yeah but how are they deluding themselves into a full three dimensional CGI hologram experience is beyond what we can ever fathom.  That's a lot of self convincing to get to the point that your day dream about an imaginary friend is actually taken as a three D holographic hallucination.  We suppose it is possible.  The human mind can do a lot.  

 

So what you are suggesting is that, even if the people we talk to are embellishing or exaggerating in order to fulfill the fantasy they wish to create for themselves, the end result is what is important, not that they are embellishing, exaggerating or fantasizing!  

 

Effectively real no matter what the process is.

This also links us back to our suggestion that people can alter their memories concerning a thoughtform with retroactive fantasy memories making the thoughtforms seem like they were more real in the past than they actually were.  Our theory is that this can be done very quickly.  We know we have done it ourselves.  People embellish memories all the time, it has been proven by science.  We have our own personal theory that those who create thoughtforms are especially practiced at it.  

 

Practiced voluntary self delusion.

 

And again this takes Mistgod and me full circle right back to our Unconscious Role Playing.  All thoughtforms are a form of immersive method acting and immersive day dreaming, taping into a subliminal dreamlike process in the brain to produce a character that is part of us.

I think you are using the word deluded wrong.

 

Deluded: I used the power of the mind to create a physical entity who picked up a flower pot and threw it at me.

 

Sane: I used the power of the mind to create a mental entity, then hallucinated that it picked up a flower pot and threw it an me.

 

What is the difference between delusions of grandeur and illusions of grandeur? The latter is called a power fantasy. The former is a break from reality.

 

I like your retroactive fantasy theory, and believe that may be what is going on in some cases. Mainly those where thoughtforms have fantastic memories of time spent while the host was busy.

 

If you are using the word deluded right, then I think you are wrong. A delusion is a belief you have no reason to hold. Do you think that you, meilan, are not really real, but that mistgod has himself convinced on purpose that you are real?

 

But mostly this is problematic because that's not how the brain works. If you don't think any tulpas are real, then you should give up on believing that people are real, because people are created the same way inside the brain.

Yeah maybe. It is hard to find the right words. I really wish there existed terminology to explain a mental-fantasy-come-alive-but-is-still-a-fantasy-yet-alive.
