tulpa001 April 15, 2017 April 15, 2017 I like Midna a lot too. She is so cool. My host was crushed when she had to go away at the end. Host comments in italics. Tulpa's log. Tulpa's guide.
Lucilyn April 16, 2017 April 16, 2017 I just woke up from a dream because of what sounded like our heater blowing too much air, like it was somehow just noisier and stuff. Also, I woke up out of a random inconsequential dream, and between ~waking up and still being in the dream I heard what sounded like a person (our dad?) say something to the right of us. So I was kinda awake and opened one eye to look at the ceiling fan to see if the heater above it was like making it shake. I thought maybe there was an earthquake or something but probably not. Also the body kinda twitched or I don't know what to call it, like when you wake up out of a dream quickly while you were moving, but that didn't seem too weird, it happens. Also, I could tell the voice was from the dream(state) and not IRL obviously. But, I'm PRETTY sure I heard the heater being loud for at least five seconds after I was awake enough to actually look at it. Sooo, it turned off within like 30 seconds and I heard someone upstairs so I went to ask them if they heard it or if it was in my head. N' it was our mom setting up easter stuff for us/little sister. She said she didn't hear it do anything weird, and also someone else was awake too and they didn't hear it or they woulda checked it out. So, it was definitely in my head. So! Looking into that, The sound was possibly similar to when your ears are a little more open to sound than normal, like when you yawn, and air and the like is louder than it should be. Also, I realized if I was able to look up at the fan like that, I woke up on my back, and we never sleep on our back. We've woken up on our back like three times in history including this one. The last time was pretty recent and nothing special I think, the first one was years ago where we woke up on an air mattress away from home and the body felt like it was vibrating until Lumi was awake enough to pay attention to it. That first time had kinda the same thing noise-wise where there was like a sharp hum in the last few seconds which really sounds like the ears being too open + blood rushing through our head, I'd say. Like it's too loud to be a dream thing but too internal to be a real noise and it accompanies the body feeling vibrate-y. so in my professional opinion I'd say sleeping on our back is just generally uncomfortable and my back is kinda sore now lol We "know "about "astral projection""" from Erin Pavlina, as well as anyone can. Except nobody agrees on what it is or how it works or where you go or what's happening (except scientific explanations, which we believe in because we know people personally who are convinced they've done it) so I can't say that without quote-ception. So no need to be like "Sounds like you were on the verge of astral projecting, hearing sounds like peoples' voices and loud hums is normal" etcetcetcetc we get it. But we consider astral projection a-form-of-an altered state of consciousness similar to but different from lucid dreaming, nothing metaphysical. And we're conditioned for what to do in the sleep-paralysis-astral-projection scenario almost as well as a lucid dreaming one, 'cus Lumi tried to do both a lot years ago. dw, if we did manage to 'astral project' #1 on the agenda ("because you tend to forget what your worldly goals were when you enter the astral realm") is proving it's supernatural. No driftin around talkin to nth dimensional beings or our spirit guides, the only thing in our whole mind in that scenario is proving it's not just made up by our mind. "It feels totally different from lucid dreaming" is the worst proof ever. If we do prove we gained some sort of information we could neither know nor guess anyhow whatsoever, then we can start exploring possible truth behind the metaphysics, but until then no fun allowed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but yeah just had to make note of that experience in detail because it's relevant to learning about our sleep and we woulda forgot the details if I didn't [video=youtube] this song was stuck in my head 100% before falling asleep that cycle and after waking up and getting on the computer, so it's ultra relevant obviously. Also omg it is jammin the chair dance was real while writing this. also it's called LSD: Dream Emulator but no drugs were involved in the making of this post And Happy Easter! tulpa001 April 16, 2017 April 16, 2017 It's easy to hear people while you're sleeping. Just try sleeping in the day in a busy house. I wonder why most people would jump to the conclusion that it's astral schuff first before anything. I read some stuff by Erin on that. It was not useful as that would be the method my host has already tried the most. We also read some of the stuff about doing it astrally. Which defies explanation literally. Though it sounds fun. "because you tend to forget what your worldly goals were when you enter the astral realm" :P heh. AKA you fell asleep. Oh, there's a second way to prove that. You can also fly over to someone like me and ask me to tell you something online. Host comments in italics. Tulpa's log. Tulpa's guide.
Lucilyn April 16, 2017 April 16, 2017 why would you be able to communicate with someone in the aetherastralrealmplace? receiving information would be easier (according to descriptions...) than giving it also no offense but having another person verify does not verify anything for us, but we might just do it for that person's sake if they were interested. people say they astral project and stuff all the time, having them confirm something we say holds no weight unfortunately now, if we find out some bit of information and ask someone about it and they give the answer we had and it's sufficiently unguessable, that would count Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! Yakumo April 16, 2017 April 16, 2017 An enhanced or altered sense of hearing is not uncommon and a remainder of our animal ancestors who had to stay somewhat alert and able to process auditory information during sleep phases. Interestingly, it has been shown that familiar stimuli trigger an awakening more easily than random sounds. See here It's also related to hypnagogic/hypnopompic hallucinations Happened to me quite a few times when I was still in school, way back in the past millenium. I was often afraid of oversleeping which seemed to have put me in a state of alert in the morning. Some times subtle sounds would almost throw me out of bed, sometimes it was just hallucinations like the phone ringing or someone knocking on the door. Highly realistic. Really sucks to be thrown out of sleep half an hour before you are supposed to get up. Hasn't happened for a long time though. I wish I had the skills to create such auditory hallucinations while forcing but at least it gives a good idea of what the brain is capable of. That said, Happy Easter and fix your sleep schedule or you'll be NEET 4 life.
Lucilyn April 17, 2017 April 17, 2017 yeah I know that stuff is normal-er for other people too, but it never happens to us. I definitely think it has something to do with waking up on our back and our schedule has nothing to do with the rest of our life really, it's having nothing to do that lets it drift everywhere, it stays OK when we have lasting obligations. But trying to keep it stable ourselves hardly ever works.. it just takes one day and suddenly we can't go to sleep at the same time so won't normally wake up at the same time, can only fix that by getting up with <7 hours of sleep usually, which we don't always have the motivation to do you know also Easter is great but today's my BIRTHDAY! Lucilyn April 18, 2017 April 18, 2017 Thanks! I'd say I forged this day to be good all on my own, I was determined to find fun stuff and talk to people about things and I super succeeded at that. Suuuure didn't find anything fun to play, but that's okay, good music and friends is all I need Rabbits are most active in the mornings and in the evening, and they require lots of attention, so I wonder if having a pet rabbit would help keep ya' on a normal sleeping schedule? Well, they'd help keep you on a strict diet of ramen without a well paying job, so it doesn't matter When Lumi was a kid he had a CD with the soundtrack of the Jimmy Neutron movie on it and that's my excuse for going and finding this a bajillion years later skip 30 seconds in first bit's boring [video=youtube] or 1:36 for lyrics when it gets good, this was pretty much the song I listened to all day on my birthday, for no particular reason Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! Lucilyn April 19, 2017 April 19, 2017 love that song, it gets the loud volume privilege couple friends actually showed up today so that was nice, I played some Twilight Princess and Slime Rancher got an update, and tomorrow I should have a new game to play so :) Y'know, with the others in the system and our switching, it feels like "our" activities are sometimes a different person in retrospect, obviously. I mean it is, so. But I say that 'cus I feel like me through the night while asleep is just as different a person sometimes. Like I know things were thought last night, and that I did some stuff, but I feel like I need to say someone else did it because I barely remember. But I do know (it's one of the things I specifically thought about last night) that a lotta thoughts get thought in those sleepy times in the night that we forget after. And sometimes it's pretty fuzzy thinking, but.. I dunno, I can't explain how I feel about it but it's cool. Like imagine lucid dreaming all the time and how you'd feel about the stuff you did in those dreams. None of it really happened, but you can still feel kinda good about things you did, the stuff we think while half asleep feels like the same importance, like it isn't technically important anymore but it happened and was at the time. Might as well be writing in that state of mind right now!, right? Consider that a message from sleepy me, I know I considered it important at the time. I also remember sleepy me remembered dreams well and went back through some to remember the whole things not just the end bits. also might as well note we woke up in more or less our switching-state where we could basically decide who was going to front, was either me or Tewi (for some reason she's the one that woke up last) but we went off the fact that I was the one fronting recently to decide who'd be fronting. Which makes more sense if you realize this was before we were even really awake and definitely couldn't think yet, was just sorta feelings. Wasn't a super special occurrence but it also doesn't happen often/hasn't in a long time, so I figured I'd note it, because why'd that even happen when it's just been me in the front recently? Lucilyn April 20, 2017 April 20, 2017 going to bed "late" around midnight tonight because I'm playing a new game (Yakuza 0, it's great) with our brother literally all day, and will tomorrow too, and maybe the days after that unless we get bored. So I won't be as active here lol, but it shouldn't affect the sleeping too much, I'm gonna wake him up early in the morning anyways Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas!
