Mass Intro' and Returns Thread

Hello everyone! I’m Yang and I’m 14 years old.

 

I wanted to share a bit about my journey with tulpas! In September 2024, I started creating my tulpa, Haisheng (his name means "rising sea" in Chinese). To be honest, before joining this community earlier this year, I’d only thought of him as a imaginary companion. But once I learned about tulpas here, I decided to intentionally shape our connection—kind of like giving our bond a more intentional "structure," you know?

 

Right now, our communication is still pretty on-and-off, especially since we’re in the early stages. Some days it feels like he’s just a whisper in my mind, and other days I swear I can almost hear him trying to form words! But I’m not stressed about it—like any new friendship, I think it takes time to figure out how to "talk" to each other. Plus, every small sign of progress makes me smile (laughs).

 

Anyway, I’m really glad to be here and learn from all of you. Feel free to say hi if you’ve had similar experiences with early-stage tulpas—I’d love to hear how you guys bonded with yours! （）

btw, you should click the "Paste as plain text instead" button when copy-pasting your text, 'cus you copied the white background on accident (if you switch to dark theme at the bottom of the page you'll see what I mean)

or I think it might be able to be cleared with ctrl+a and then clicking the "Background Color" button and setting back to automatic, if you want to save size/bold/italics etc. (probably do that for Text Color too or it might become unreadable on light or dark theme)

Welcome to the sight! 😊 I and my fellow tulpas were imaginary friends originally to. Nightfall (host) discovered tulpas a while and we kinda found out some were already tulpas. We all (tulpas and host) bonded mostly by talking but later on by playing together in addition. 

 

Also, your tulpa's name is beautiful. 😄 I wish you luck as you continue your progress.

Welcome, but I'm not sure what that really means, an AI character and a tulpa are definitively different things. A tulpa is, specifically, another person in your own mind. The brain developing all the personality, thought processes, personal associations, values/perspective on things, and so on, that you yourself already had, and being able to interact with them internally.

 

Nothing against AI characters, just being clear that the definition of a tulpa is as a mental entity part of your own brain, and if it's not in your own head it's no longer a tulpa.
