Mental Stress / Headache from very long Tulpa-Forcing?

Hey!

Rina isn't around right now, and I thought I'd take the opportunity to talk and ask about something that solely concerns me, not her.

Subject:

We've basically been active-passive forcing nearly all the time ever since the start, so for two to three days with only a few breaks.

By now Esterina finds it easy to "manifest", as she says, into my real world vision (I even hear her mind-voice from where she is). This happens without me doing it, she's just there, "in my mind in the position she would be in in the real world, and that overlaps into my vision", as she roughly describes it.

Even if I don't look, she's still there, even if I stop paying attention.

We have my aunt and sister visiting here today, and she stuck around even during that, and it got pretty hard to listen to her when she said something. So she gestured mostly.

Thing is, she obviously does this by... well, like I described it. I'd say she "maps herself into my mind and my perception / spatial awareness". Hard to describe. But you other hosts probably know what I mean.

And this is, by now, basically always the case when she's around (meaning, not bugger'd off into our wonderland); she's always "visually there".

So yeah, this still happens inside my mind then, obviously.

That's how I understand what she told me; even if she's the one doing that, my mind has to process what she's doing, what she's projecting into it (which is herself in all her detail).

That, in essence, means we've not only been talking, but doing the visualizing thing for hours upon hours at a time, many hours, with only very few breaks.

She also taps into my five senses a lot.

Now, this MIGHT be a coincidence, but I have a headache since today. It veeery slowly gets stronger, and I just asked her to bugger off to our wonderland for a while so I could see if that helps.

So tl;dr: We've been doing this active-passive forcing almost all the time, and I have the suspicion that it's putting mental strain on me because this is still so new to me.

Question:

Is this normal? To be expected?

If so, should we just keep going as sort of training? Or should we tone it down?

If it's not expected, then what do you think? Is it possible? And should we tone it down a bit?

... honestly, I'd feel bad about toning it down.

I absolutely love having her around. Not all the damn time, sure... but a lot of the time. She's just an awesome person, and I'd really regret shaving off part of our time together.

AG

PS: By the way, in case the "severity" of the visualization thing is important:

It goes to the degree where I don't necessarily have to ask if she's there; I can just take a look around, and in most, if not all cases, that will be enough to make sure if she's there or not.

Headaches (and sometimes Dizzyness) are pretty common for tulpamancers, especially if you do it for a longer period of time. Even passive forcing can cause this to some degree, but you will get used to it and it will happen less often as you advance. Expect to get tired because of it aswell. Big advice: When you try to rest, especially sleep, don't force around you. This may result in heavy cascading headaches through the night, and believe me: you don't want that. If you're tired and exhausted go into "soft mode", don't focus her, but allow her to reach you. (Again - without any focussing please.) Taking breaks is important, especially in the beginning.

I keep my tulpa around all day, and overdoing it is no fun. The first few weeks were pretty exhausting.

Well, really, the thing is, she's just there.

Even if I try not seeing her (or maybe rather "not try seeing her", since I never actively tried to not see her), unless I ask her to go all *poof!* and disappear visually, she will be there.

That was not the case in the beginning, I had to contact her the first day.

But by now she's just there when she wants to be. But yeah, the second night she wasn't around when I went to bed. (I told her good night and she buggered off.)

But you say asking her to be around more "passively", like, stopping to be around visually and making it so I don't just naturally notice any sound she makes (because I do, even if actually understanding her words still needs concentration), that's what I should do when it's time to go to bed?

But still have her be around like that then.

I understood that correctly?

Being already on that level of seeing her is really impressive to be honest. But yeah, you mainly got the right idea. It is about giving your brain a rest, if you keep going with her even while trying to sleep your brain keeps working and working, no matter what you're doing yourself. As long as your brain actively tries to receive her, it is working. As long as it is working, your headaches could get worse and worse. So you really need to let it go in phases of resting. (Ask her to do that aswell in your case)

With the amount of forcing you're doing now, I'm not surprised your getting headaches. Your brain is eventually going to get used to it once it works out that this is going to be a common thing. Until then, I agree with NoneFromHell that you should definitely take a few more breaks if the headaches are pretty bad.

When I was more active, I definitely had moments where the side of my temples felt a lot of pressure. I wouldn't call them headaches, but it certainly was something. Concerning real headaches, I've had a couple that were on the level of migraines, but those were times I haven't forced in a long time, so I think that's probably a personal problem.

I have 10 tulpas, but I'm only actively working on Reah, my first tulpa currently.

Rina and I are really thankful for your advice!

And we actually found something out! Rina, shoot 'em!

Uh, basically, he hears me much better when I'm in the back of his head like this. Actually, I'm surprised myself.

Me too! o.ô

I kinda just assumed I'd of course always hear her better if she's here with me as "directly" as possible, but it seems something about the (I guess proverbial?) "being in the back of my head" part does have some benefit.

My guess is our raw connection is better like this; his mind and brain might be more at ease, too.

Yeah, that sorta sounds like it makes sense.

That's definitely something for us to keep in mind. ^^

I can't just randomly hear everything she "says out loud" now without actively listening for it, and she's not around visually. So I guess we'll try to do this one more, a more "passive" passive forcing.

That choice of words is fine.

Thanks, everyone!

We'll take your advice to heart!

Thank you.

  • 2 weeks later...

Headaches, occasional dizziness, I've even experienced ear ringing for about the first month of over-clock forcing I did. Orange juice really helps. Forcing in the shower helps clear your head for the rest of the day.

You need more orange juice.

Host: Cam (that's me!)

Age: Keeping that disclosed.

Appearance: Keeping that disclosed, too.

Tulpa: Toree (we're still working on the name; i'm bad at names)

Age: At least 3 days old (made her a tulpa on December 3rd, 2015)

Appearance: An anthro Luxray from pokemon with red fur instead of blue. A bit on the chubby side, and also rather tall. Wears robes a lot.
