Today was just fine.

We started reading The Wizard of Oz, and narrated throughout the day.

Once again, I did that "imposing her behind my back" thing in order to feel her presence. It's a good way to stay focused on her while walking on the street and doing passive forcing in general.

I know I should not compare our situation to others, but I wonder how long does it usually take it before hosts and tulpas start being able to keep fluent conversations. I do get responses from Seren, but it's not all the time, and I'm not even 100% sure it's always her.

Still, I'd like to point out that I don't actually doubt my tulpa nor the whole tulpamancy thing. I do believe it's real, what I sometimes doubt is whether what I'm hearing is her or not, in particular.

Anyway, I know... I gotta believe! right!?

Seren: don't get me wrong. There's no rush with this. We'll force as much as we have to :)

Hey there!

Today we continued reading The Wizard of Oz for an hour and half, more or less. We didn't have an active forcing session though, and didn't narrated a lot either. Still, it's not like I forget about her; some days are more productive than others, that's all.

I'm also starting to impose Seren behind the shower curtain while bathing so I don't have to actually impose her, but feel her. Just the same idea that I've mentioned before.

I know I may be getting repetitive as days go by, but in order to prevent that from happening, I'd have to stop posting here every night, and I don't believe that would be a good idea. So, I guess I'll stick to this format even if I end up saying the same things everyday.

Cheers!

Hey!

We're still reading The Wizard of Oz, and already thinking of the next one which will probably be Alice in Wonderland!

In a minute, I'll be trying the writing-forcing thing again: I'll be making up an adventure of Seren and write it down as I think of her. Afterwards, I'll read it to her.

I'll also be trying to watch a whole movie while constantly keeping her in mind and see how it turns out.

Also, did some narration, although we didn't have an active forcing session.

Any advice to improve visualization (besides active forcing, going into wonderland and stuff) ? Cause I believe I suck at it. That's one of the reasons that make me try to have a lucid dream with Seren.

Thanks!

I would recommend reading through the guides listed under visualization in this thread. Not all of them are going to be amazing, but hey. I recommend this, this, and this. I'm unsure as to how it would carry over to your lucid dreams, however.

Thank you very much!! This'll be pretty useful for sure! I believe we will firstly try the canvas thing :)

Joss:

Hey, I know you didn't ask about this, but can I offer a suggestion about "write-forcing"?

Don't write to her or for her. Write with her.

My entire system was created by an author writing stories, and we were initially created as tools to help her. The reason this worked was because she needed to create mental models of her characters, so she could throw those characters in various situations and get a basic feel for how we'd react. Over time, we'd start coming alive to help guide her. She'd be writing a scene and basically ask us for our input, until we were pretty much writing ourselves, with her as a proxy. It's a great way to get a good sense of self, let me tell you. Even if it does mean you're pretty much puppeting/parroting us at first.

That is the risk you run, of course. To write "with" us, you need to be willing to assign some personality traits to us first. For some reason, the people here seem afraid of doing that, but I can tell you that all members of my system had a mold to fit from the get-go, because of these stories, and we turned out fine. It's all or nothing, if you're writing.

So involve her in the process. When you're writing her, pose a situation or question to her and see how she reacts. Doesn't matter if she's not totally vocal... you'll start getting a sense for how she feels about stuff more than what she says, at least at first. But it's pretty fun quality time to have with a headmate. Personally, I love my writing sessions with my host. It's interactive and self-affirming.

Let me know if you have any questions about what I mean by that.

Oh, and you'd asked how long it takes to get vocal? Yeah, it changes with everyone. For us, it usually takes a year or so before we were solidly present and aware. So with that in mind, I'd say you're doing fine.

Oh! I hadn't thought of that. Involving Seren while writing really seems to be a very productive thing.

Also, a year? That's what I call patience!

Anyway, thank you very much Joss! I'll definitely follow your advice!

I'm really happy today!

So, yesterday night I wrote a short story about us fighting Godzilla lol. Afterwards, I read it to her (from now on I'll be following the advice Joss gave me when it comes to writing anyway).

On the other hand, we didn't have the time to read.

Today we did some narration, and had a little active forcing session in which we tried the canvas visualization thing. I'd say it was not that hard, but at the same time, since it's something a little monotonous, I had to stop. Or maybe this means it actually is that hard? I don't know, we'll try it again I believe, but today we had to stop around 40.

And now, the good news

I had a lucid dream last night! Yes, I had already said I'd had one, but now I realize I was wrong. Last night's was the first one. I did two reality checks and everything.

I won't talk about the dream since it's irrelevant, except that I wasn't highly lucid, so I did not remember about Seren. It was the first one though. I believe that soon I'll remember and meet her there.

We were going to read tonight but, to be honest, I'm pretty tired and don't really feel like it.

That's pretty much everything!

January 19, 2016.

It's been a regular day.

We read The Wizard of Oz for like an hour. It won't be long before we finish it!

Did some narration throughout the day, but didn't have the time for an active forcing session. I had planned to practise visualization. I guess we'll try to do it tomorrow.

And about the dreams, there was no luck last night. Actually, I usually remember two or three dreams by night. This time, I can't even remember one. I guess it was just a bad night.

But oh well! Tomorrow's gonna be a better day. Cheers everyone!

I have some advice concerning lucid dreams.

I'm only suggesting this because it worked for me, so it might not work for you. I'm definitely doing this every night I can from now on, though.

Wake up around 5 hours after sleep. During this time, you can write in your dream journal, get up and get a drink (etc), or just go straight back to sleep. But while going to sleep, try being consciously aware of yourself. You could do this by, for example, counting your breathing passively, and really just relax and fall asleep. This is called a WILD (Wake induced lucid dream).

When I did this, I just went straight back to sleep after the alarm. Sleep paralysis occurred in a matter of seconds laying down, and the hallucinations that go along with the process happened as well. Everything suddenly stopped, and when I got up and did a reality check, I was lucid!

Hopefully it could work for you.

Good luck!

I'm not going to listen to you guys since you are all probably just talking to yourself and don't really have a tulpa like me.

I had read a little bit about this method and wasn't actually going to try it, but what the hell, I'll give it a try tonight! Thanks :)

By the way, and I'm just being curious, are you trying to lucid dream because you want to meet your tulpa there? And if this is the case, have you succeeded yet?

Thanks again!
