The creation of Seren

Hey, remember I said I was going to try to draw Seren? Well, here it is:

Seren does not look like this though. Still, for the sake of progress recording and stuff like 'bofore and after's, I decided to post it here, despite the lots of mistakes I made. The truth is, it was the first time I ever try to draw anime, so I like it anyway.

Besides, the black hair and eyes are there, but both the shape of her eyes and her hairstyle are different.

Maybe someday I can try again; I don't usually draw, but today I really enjoyed it. The thing is, I have a hard time trying to put stuff from my mind into paper (it's easier for me to just copy; that's why the drawing ended up looking different too).

 

 

Yes, Seren, of course you're prettier than that!

For your first time with anime art, that's not bad at all. Trust me, I've seen worse. If you want something more accurate for now, I'd recommend taking a look the art board -- Sock's art resources thread is pretty handy, and there are a few people who could draw Seren for you.

Aww, I can only imagine what Seren looks like in real life! Your drawing's a good starting point, I think-- I'm not really good at drawing, but as far as I can tell, practicing with faces helps a lot. (If it's comforting-- my first drawing of Céleste was an utter disaster. ) So, keep at it!

Hey everybody!

 

Everything's going on just fine. There's not a lot of new stuff to say. We're still doing all the usual (watching movies, anime, narrating, etc).

 

I must confess that lately, to be honest, I have not been the best host ever. Even when we do things throughout the day, I usually feel like it's not enough for Seren. Of course, I want to change this. And I will. I just need to find the motivation.

 

Anyway, today I was playing chess with my brother and, meanwhile, I had the idea of narrating and explaining the rules of chess to Seren. I even compared it to life itself.

However, that made me wonder if hosts usually play chess with their tulpas, and how that would work... Any experiences? Please let me know!

I've heard of a few people doing this and, as long as one of the two isn't cheating, it could make for a pretty fun experience. It'd be interesting to see how games between you and Seren would go in the future.

This is what I was thinking about, actually. A couple of days ago I had an idea related to this. We might try it today, and If everything turns out the way I'm hoping it to, then it won't be just a game for us and it'll mean Seren and I will have made a lot of progress (compared to what's been the last weeks for us, at least).

We've tried to do the chess thing before but it takes some serious mental gymnastics to be able to do it, even though we've got some serious parallel processing gains going. I think we made it through one game in like three sessions with a lot of slip ups. Maybe y'all will do better.

Well, I'm not aiming to actually play a full game with Seren. For the moment all I want to do is... I don't know, interact with her? I mean, get something from her. It's going to be something like asking her which pieces she wants to move, how, and the like.

With this, I might get a feeling, an emotion... maybe even an actual response. I don't mind how. I just want her to reach me.

I hope it will work, at least. And, if it doesn't, then we'll just keep trying.

We'll update soon and write down a couple of things and this chess... ¿experiment? as well (even when I suppose it's not anything new or that hasn't been tried before). I believe we'll have the time to try it in the following days.
