In the situation you describe, you can have impose your tulpa as present with you and listening...which would be passive forcing. If you repeated what you were hearing in your mind to your tulpa as it was happening/at a later time it would be narrating. Or you could have them explain what they understood to you later/ask them questions about it (if they are vocal). Telling them to just listen sounds more like an attempt at cutting corners to me, and I don't think it would work well...unless they were already sentient/further along the creation stage and present at the time.

Well, to be fair, since it is often said that Tulpas thrive on attention, and any interaction is attention, then it is all forcing. However, as Luminesce pointed out, there still needs to be some sort of quality at least.

It's nice to see so many different opinions, thank you guys for your feedback!

Currently working on Seren, so that she gets to shut me up frequently.

Imagine you're talking with someone, and you'd like to be forcing instead. Now, let's pretend you can focus both on the conversation and your tulpa at the same time.

If you direct to your tulpa everything the person's saying, would it count as forcing? It would be something like: "hey, tulpa, this is really interesting! listen!".

Fade: My first thought was, isn't this a thing for everyone?, and then I realized it must not be. I'm certain it's a thing because we do it all the time. The guys are always making commentary on the conversations I'm having and what's going on around me.
