A servitor can't be super complex, and they suck at doing anything other than very simple tasks.

Although I greatly encourage you not to, if there was to be someone to replace you it would have to be something that could actually think.

I dunno why you wouldn't just have your tulpa take over. You can still be by her side in wonderland when she joins wonderland and forces with you, and I know if my host was really, really upset with life, I'd take over in a heartbeat if it meant keeping her happy.

But... I don't think you should do it forever. Maybe for a little while, but not forever. You liked life once, right? Before all this! So after a while, you could be happy with it again and make all sorts of new friends and smiles! Life's really pretty, and I really wish I was able to go live it like regular people sometimes, instead of in the head.

I guess what I'm saying is I think you should figure out why you got sad, and then come back- and in the meantime, your foxy can enjoy life too and help you!

--Right.. all I'm really going to add to that is that this is a thing that's happened before, just never with a servitor. I'm like 90% sure that's impossible. And making another tulpa just to take over seems kinda selfish, you know? So you're kinda stuck with your tupper taking over if they want, or just continuing to live life.

Personally, you sound like you need a therapist more than anything. What you're describing sounds like depression to me (though I'm not a therapist), and that's something there's definitely ways to help alleviate. You don't gotta give up on life forever because of it, trust me.

But hey, if that's what you really want and you've thought hard about it- and your tup's okay with it- go for it. Not stopping you, really. I'm sorry it came to this, for ya. Hope you feel better soon.

Hiya. Member of the Horrible Hosts Club (HHC). If you wanna learn about my system, here's my PR.

If you are really so depressed that even video games, chocolate cake and chatting with people has lost all appeal, I can't imagine a wonderland would be any fun.

But as to the main question: A servitor will evolve if it is given a task it cannot handle. In this case, the task is too complicated. The result is certain to be another sentient thoughtform.

Don't have it be permanent. At this point I am no longer advocating against a tulpa running your life, but don't stay away forever. Switch around, share the real life and the life of wonderland.

If life is so boring, make it interesting. (I mean maybe our amazing dreams aren't that good) My host was addicted to video games for a really long time. Some of them are about as good. But real life is the best video game. So much strategy, and research and adventure you could be paid to do if you were appropriately trained. Find where you fit in.

Honestly wasn't expecting that sort of language when I saw you posted, sheesh.

I'm kind of suspicious there was no ", and my tulpa likes switching" in there. If your tulpa doesn't have an interest in taking over your life, you shouldn't do this.

Thread: "Is being a tulpa a cage?"

It is to some. But it's a cage you must put someone else in to get out of. Generally best not to think of it like a cage, and to think of it how it is.

There's generally room for compromise anyways.

Post I wrote on permaswitching (oh this is literally the post before that quote, that's confusing) https://community.tulpa.info/thread-is-being-a-tulpa-a-cage?pid=171134#pid171134

It is your responsibility to take care of your life, for you and your tulpa. If your life is just boring, then you live for you and your tulpa to keep living. If lucid dreaming is all you enjoy, then the cost of continuing to do it is living life. Honestly that's a terrible point of view to have in the long term, but for the moment being it's the best you've got. You can't live on autopilot, and you don't really deserve to if you could. The cost of living is living, you can't take only the good and ignore the bad. And you especially can't push it on someone else, the only candidate being your tulpa really.

I dunno what to tell you. Lucid dreaming with my tulpas is basically my only real goal in life, but I have no intention of giving up my actual life when I accomplish it. If anything I would appreciate my life more as a whole at that point. If you can really lucid dream, count your blessings, because I've been trying to for seven years.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

[Hail] A couple of us are going to have to answer this. I will only talk about the feasibility of your exact plan with servitors.

Making one servitor capable of completely running outerworld life that will stay a servitor probably can't be done. Now, a group of several most definitely can be done and we know someone who did it. But that is very hard to do and takes quite a bit of time to set up, and we are not sure how well they would be able to run outerworld life.

Now some systems have a sort of Body OS which can often look like a servitor but isn't that can do a lot of these things too. But Body OSes seem to produce a person eventually from what we gather from those who have experienced singlet death (serial plurality instead of parallel plurality), so that path ultimately ends up putting the "burden" on a person. Body OSes are also not quite automatons.

Basically, having an actual person to switch with to handle outerworld life is much more viable than trying to setup an automaton to do it.

[Tri] Unless you put in a lot of time and work into servitors which turn out to be capable of running outerworld life well (may very well do terrible), you are ultimately going to have to have a person take on outerworld life if you end up living in your wonderland full time. Now, you said you want your tulpa to be inside with you, which means either they have to handle outerworld and thus won't be with you the whole time or someone else will need to be made to handle outerworld. What does your tulpa want (sorry, tried looking around and couldn't find her name)? Do they want to be in wonderland all the time too, or would they prefer to be interfacing outerworld some of the time or all of the time? As for making a person for the sole purpose of having them handle all outerworld life, that is one hell of responsibility to expect someone to do before they even exist yet. Would they actually be given a choice in the matter? Will you be there for them and help them setup a life inside if they choose "no" when presented with the choice?

Now, as far as the idea of moving to wonderland full time and someone else taking on outerworld, we have a few thoughts. We don't believe it is an innately bad thing, and it is something that is quite common. The how it is done has a significant impact on whether it is moral or not. Either way, there is nothing right or wrong with wanting to do it - ethics only come into actually doing it. Fronters (people who control the body) often wear out, and sometimes those who have two lives (one inside and one outside) want to shift their focus away from one and to the other. If a fronter wants to shift to focus on their life inside while someone else wants to shift to outside, then we see no reason not to do it especially if the one leaving outerworld does the work to insure continuity (things like either sharing the needed memories or giving or writing down other the needed information and being on call to provide more information and answer questions as needed). Now, if no one wants to shift towards outside or no team of people want to split it, then, just bailing and making someone or a team of people do it is another situation entirely. At that point, whether it is choice or necessity matters, though it can often be hard to distinguish the two and generally both are involved to some degree. Context and details matter.

Right now, with two of you, one or both of you have to handle outerworld. If your tulpa wants to take over outerworld, then you have a workable situation though that does mean she won't be with you all the time inside (only when she gets some spare time and immerses). You could of course make one or more additional tulpas. The really sticky part here is motive. If your only intent is to have someone to take your place, you will likely not appreciate them for who they are if they say no and they will know this meaning that they will be pressured on the decision. If instead, you would like to have more people be there and you want to know and interact with all of them regardless of whether they take on the front or not and if one or more of them want to take over or at least share outerworld then that is icing on the cake, then you have a much better situation. It is important that you would value and respect them the same for either answer, yes or no, to the idea.

Do know, whoever (one or more people) takes over outerworld could very well end up suffering the same difficulties you are, or different ones. That is something you and they need to know in order to make an informed decision.

Our system has had a sort of perma-switch actually. It wasn't intentional and hell, there was no realization of plurality back then. Hail and Breach are our hosts, but they weren't the original person here, S. was. They ended up switching early in childhood and S. faded away due to not having a wonderland at the time (all unwittingly), which stayed that way for over a decade before S was unwittingly revived. Been a tumultuous road since then but S. is now back and fully operational so to speak. She doesn't control the body much and lives most of her life inside. Breach spends most of her life inside now. We do the majority of handling of outerworld, with Hail following us. If Hail wanted to go live inside, we would be up for taking a part of her responsibility as long as some of the others would help us. She doesn't get inside, though. She is just sort of dormant when the rest of us front - aware but unthinking, which she finds pleasant and refreshing. Hail doesn't seem to want to go inside full time, because if she did she would work on it. Could change in the future though. Our current arrangement came about due to necessity. Hail wore out and was falling apart and so it was either us take over most of the responsibility or her be further ground to dust while nothing got done, or worse most of her would have ground to dust till only the strongest member of her subsystem remained who would then be foisted with all responsibility (Ec. would certainly be able to handle it, but it would be wrong to let that happen since she is a little (a very weird and responsible little, but a little none the less)).

T, B, Frostbite, and Hail, and others (note, historically, Hail included Frostbite and B)

I don't understand why some people insist on telling that life is much better and I should keep living as the main controller of the body. Permanent switching offers me a happy life, without worrying about school, getting a job, without having to dealing with people anymore...man, that sounds like heaven for me I just don't understand why permanent switching isn't a common thing.

And no, my tulpa has no problems with switching for a very long time, in fact, she was the one who always insist in switching with me when I was feeling down.

There's your answer. You can't just say "I don't understand why everyone doesn't just switch places", at least 50% have to actually enjoy living for that to make any sense. So you're one of the people who doesn't. But apparently your tulpa is one who does. So it turns out, it's actually possible to enjoy living and not having to hide from it? Who'd have thought.

Though I guess I can't fault you if you just don't understand why she doesn't dislike your life like you do. I only enjoy life because I made the effort to figure out why my tulpa thought so highly of it, when all I saw was pointlessness and effort without reward. Now we both enjoy life and everything is going much better.

I can relate about some points here. I sometimes end up thinking that permanently switching would be easier, or more fun. I could for example just let Cora live in summer and I wouldn't have to sweat like crazy, I would only have to live in winter, fresh and comfy..

But I sometimes just don't wanna give up on my physical life. Yes it's harder and it often provides pain, but you can also find an incredible amount of joy in this life, a kind of joy no lucid dream could ever provide you.

And that's why we are working on switching "for fun" and for occasionnal convenience, but we will never permanently switch (Cora wouldn't mind if I wanted to tho).

Anyway, if you think this is for you, so be it I guess, but i find this pretty sad and I'm convinced this mindset of yours is just a bad moment in your life, a bad moment that could become a great life-experience... What a potential waste of happiness ;)

No animosity intended ever
